  1. I applied for the OA recently and it could not have been easier. i cannot speak to each evisa location. I applied to LA consulate. Regarding the police report you have 2 options. Both have worked for me at different times. 1) go to your local city police station and request a verified police report. This one you must pay a little extra, yet it will have a signature and it will have a logo with your local police station. i cannot say your police will offer this service. This simply says in the local jurisdiction you a free of convictions. It is not the same as a FBI report. The LA consulate has accepted this. 2) you can obtain an official FBI report. Fastest procedure is to register to have your finger prints electronically recorded, rather than sending in a paper card. It’s my understanding Thailand accepts this. The FBi report does not have a signature on it. I have sent in the report from my local police and this has been accepted. I submitted all my documents to the Thai consulate the first time. I expected possibly a two week delay to get my approved evisa. The evisa was approved in 24 hours. Why individuals choose OA versus O is entirely personal. There are benefits to both only each individual person can decide which visa they want. Everyone has their own reasons.
  2. Given your particular situation, there may be a nuanced answer. Technically speaking the answers you have been provided are accurate, and personally, I would recommend following the procedures as outlined. Changing from a 90 day visa to a one year extension is relatively easy and I have done it multiple times. It is also possible to work with a visa agency and they often have relationships with immigration such that the can expedite extensions. I am not recommending, nor recommending you do that, yet it may be worth exploring.
  3. there is an error on the online arrival card. I cannot enter my arrival date of May 7 2025. it continues to say incorrect format. complete waste of time. where can one send information that there is an error?
  4. I did a quick search on the internet, I found the following information: You will need to provide an International Driving Permit if your own driver's licence is not printed fully in English. In most those with a driver's licence issued from the USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand do not require an IDP to be able to rent a car in the UK. However, keep in mind that some car rental companies may require one if you are planning to drive across the channel, crossing by either Le Shuttle or a ferry. Make sure to call and confirm this with your car rental provider. A United States citizen who normally resides in the United States and is visiting or temporarily residing in the United Kingdom may drive by virtue of his/her valid American license for a period of one year from the date of his/her last entry visa. Again, found on the Internet, so take with a grain of salt..... you do not need to an IDP if you drive in the UK for visits up to 30 days. For visits longer than 30 days you need to have an International Drivers Permit under the 1949 Convention. I do not know whether Thailand issues an International Drivers Permit under the 1949 Convention. Other posters have provided you where to obtain an International Drivers Permit which is Chonburi Department of Land Transport. If I were you I would go and get an International Drivers Permit and be better safe than sorry. I would not take any answer here as definitive and instead go to the UK Immigration website and search for the authoritative answer.
