I am not sure how to edit a post but I should have added that this is an “unrefined” product. It still retains its strong taste (nutty) and smell and color.

I wasn’t sure if this should be in the Health forum or the Farming forum or here.
I want to get your personal experiences on the different types of processing Coconut Oil—Cold, Hot, Centrifugal, and others I missed.
I have researched this topic at length and find most articles are not first hand experience. If you have experience with the different processed oils then you know hot pressed has a different odor and “feel”.
I have been using hot pressed Coconut Oil for about 10 years on my skin & hair. It has been sourced from a man in Surat Thani who makes and sells to the beach massage ladies. It is not a store bought product and does not come in a specific container. It is sold to them most often in Red Bull glass bottles or other larger glass bottles.
I have found the same type of coconut oil at the Krabi massage shops.
It has always been described to me as “hot” pressed and these women are adamant that it is better for skin and hair than cold pressed and I agree. The only problem is I have not actually seen the processing performed first hand so I cannot confirm what type it is.
Are any of you familiar with what I am talking about? Do you know where I can source this in Bangkok? I am not interested in the cold pressed readily found at every supermarket in the cooking section, it is rather bland.
Better yet, do you know of a small factory that makes this type of hot pressed formulation that is popular at massage stands on Thai beaches?

Thanks for responding.
Its actually quite remarkable the effects that the various types of processing have on the final product.
It reminds me of my old Greek neighbor who used to laugh, “Your American palate cannot recognize one olive oil from another but a Greek can and this oil is <deleted>!”
I am also interested in observing the various refining processes.
