  1. Little update about getting my fourth Thai tourist visa in savannakhet.

Taxi from Ubon train station to border 1850baht, no problem with the taxi turned on the meter without even telling him, wish more cities had taxi meter’s.

arrive at the consulate 10:30 asked to show only bank statement, they didn’t accept my phone statement, so I went to a internet shop far away, came back with the statement on paper 11:05, a bit late, but no problem, was given queue number 32, I was the last one to hand in the all the requested documents, didn’t ask for ticket out of the country or a hotel booking, so I’m glad I chose savannakhet instead of HCMC.

tomorrow if I get the visa, we will see if I have to show some cash 20,000 to the immigration officer at the border.

any reports from that border about show money or anything else ?

and where in Savannakhet can I get Thai baht ?

Okei, i read at the HCMC consulate it must be half of my planning stay in Thailand, but I will go to savannakhet to apply for a visa, will a hotel booking of two weeks be ok ?

    thank you

    Thank you all!

I will I’ll catch the train from Pak Chong 00:10 to Ubon Ratchathani arrive 06:15 in the morning unless there are some delays.

taxi to Mukdahan from Ubon train station is that possible and price ?

in the worst case scenario if I don’t get the visa In savannakhet, can I enter on visa exemption? I don’t have any visa exemption border crossing this year or the year before, only by air, my last border crossing with visa exemption was August 2017.

Don't forget - A flight out of Thailand (can be to anywhere) within 60-days at HCMC or within 90-days at Savannakhet.   HCMC might let you do a flight 90-days out, but don't count on it.

Bank statement within a few days of application-date is fine.  A free online-booking for a hotel/guesthouse could be made for longer, then canceled if you decide to stay elsewhere.

Beyond being refused another Tourist Visa a warning stamp shouldn’t cause any other problems. And if you’re going for a 5 year (min) PE visa in March you’ve nothing to worry about.

If the SETV were denied in Vientiane you could just enter using visa exemption and get a 30 day extension to see you through to March.

There’s a high chance they will give you a warning stamp if you apply for a forth in Vientiane. Applying elsewhere would be your best option if you’re concerned about it.

Yes I will not take the chance to go for a fourth in Vientiane. Will savannakhet be a good option or is HCMC better alternative?

when they require 20,000 baht, how old can that bank statement be?

proof of address, hotel booking at a hotel for few days will be ok?

If you didn’t get a warning stamp last time Vientiane will probably give you another.

If you apply anywhere else you need to show a bank statement with at least 20K and an onward flight booking.

Just checked my passport and no warning stamp from Vientiane, but I’m worried about if I go now to Vientiane for my last tourist visa, that can cause problems for me in the future, my passport expires 2027.

They will probably want to see 20,000 baht and a flight/ticket out of Thailand.

Ok, 20,000 on my bank account right?, Can I give them a two days old bank statement showing 20,000 ++? Or must the bank statement be from the same day I applying for a tourist visa ?

flight ticket out of Thailand must be within 60 days? To my home country or or just everywhere?

  7. My tourist visa will expire 15th January, so I will need a new one (last), I have already three visa issued in Vientiane last year, so this will be my fourth(last) because I’m currently saving money for the 5 year elite visa  which I will afford after 20th March.

so which embassy/consulate will be the best one to get my new tourist visa? and what are the requirements there ? And the best way to get there from Bangkok ?

    I appreciate your help.
