PATTAYA – An altercation occurred in Pattaya City on Soi Six over the past weekend involving security personnel working for independent bars from an undisclosed entertainment venue and three foreign nationals. The incident, which took place at 5:26 p.m. on Friday, May 24th, 2024, was captured on video and disseminated through social media, going viral.
The videos, each lasting approximately one minute, depict the security guards engaging in a physical confrontation with the foreign individuals. The footage shows one unidentified tourist in a white shirt seemingly being attacked by the guards, followed by a second tourist in a gray shirt who intervenes and is subsequently assaulted. As the videos may disturb sensitive readers, we have decided not to show them here, although they are widely available online.
One unidentified foreign tourist appears to be kicked in the head by a guard while lying injured on the ground at the end of the fight, which caused significant discourse and commentary on both Thai and English social media. His condition is still to be confirmed by police publicly as of press time.

A 47 year old machine operator from Pontypridd, South Wales was found dead in his hotel room in Thailand, leaving family and friends devastated.
Simon Brown, known as Browny, was discovered lifeless last Saturday, and an investigation into his untimely death is underway. Loved ones describe their state as one of total shock and sadness, as there were no prior indications of ill health. A close friend, Mark Davies, expressed the disbelief shared by many.
“It’s just a total shock, it was so unexpected. He wasn’t ill. There was nothing wrong with him. Everyone knew him. He was a crazy bloke – really outgoing and always up for a laugh.”
The Welshman was a well-known figure in Trallwn, celebrated for his zest for life and frequent travels to Thailand, a country he adored. His family is now facing the daunting task of repatriating his body, a process that is both lengthy and expensive. They have launched a fundraising appeal to raise £10,000 (approximately 460,000 baht), with over £2,000 already contributed.
Davies elaborated on Simon’s life, highlighting his hard-working nature and passion for travel.
“He was a hard worker as a machine operator and when he wasn’t working he was always on holiday. In particular, he loved going to Thailand. We don’t know anything at the moment as to the circumstances around it. It only happened on Saturday so we know very little.
“We are asking all those who knew and loved Browny to help us bring him back home. As a family, we are now trying to bring Simon back home so that we can lay him to rest at his home in Swansea. Thanks to all those who have reached out and sent messages of condolence, and we appreciate any help you can give.”
The GoFundMe campaign, created on Wednesday, has seen an outpouring of support, with nearly 50 donations, including one generous contribution of £500, reported Mirror UK.
The Thai authorities have yet to disclose the cause of death or where he was in Thailand when he died.

Dear Folks,
I have always wished I might have been famous in my life, just once.
And, why is this?
I wish I might have been famous enough, like David Bowie, to appear on Soul Train, just once.
What is your Fame Fantasy?
Do you dare to tell, here on this Famous Forum?
Why not?
Are you not anonymous here on TV?
If I had been granted my wish, when I was younger, and even now, I would have opted to do this:
Some Psychiatrists will tell you that an obsession with becoming famous is maladaptive.
Do you believe this?
I do not.
I believe that it is not too late for me to be famous.
I just need to get lucky.
So, anyway, here is what some researchers say about our need and fascination and, almost constant daydreaming, with becoming famous. And, also, I would like to know why our newest generations, now yet to become adults, are even more fixated upon becoming famous than I ever was of appearing on Soul Train. (Soul Train? Me and my buddies watched Soul Train religiously, every afternoon, when we were teens. Great show!)
Somedays, as I say, I worry my daydreams of fame might become troublesome for me or others....(like this guy worries, too, I guess):
And, Billy Graham, who was so famous, and whose son I attended school with, probably would tell us that it is wrong to wish to be famous:
And, here is BETTY who is having problems with her FAME-Fantasy:
But for a more SCIENTIFIC Analysis, then you would want to read articles like this one. And, I am sure that I am NO Narcissist, Believe Me!:
So I ask you:
How much would you give to be famous.
And, if you were famous, or if you were a famous author, or a famous footballer, or a famous politician,...
How would your fame change your life, and...
What would you do with your fame, besides improving our world?
Would you have no one but girls around you, 24/7?
I know that I would.
I would drive a Bentley, with girls sitting to the left and to the right of me.
And, the driver would be a girl.
And all the girls would be Thai.
I would not wish to become a famous author.
And, if I were a famous author, then I would not really be famous.
I would use a pseudonym.
And, I would write under the pen name: Oliver Twist, being, in real life, rather twisted.
How do you deal with your fantasies?
Is there any hope for you, do you think?
Regards,
Gamma
Note to Self: Becoming Famous, later in life, will not be so easy as it might have been when one was young.
Never wanted nor fantasised about "fame" of any description
I am similar about "success" as that is measured in many different ways
I always aimed and hopefully achieved to be a "person of value", I trust I have achieved this by supporting family, colleagues, students and clients to reach their goals.

Connor Murphy, an American YouTuber known for bodybuilding and lifestyle content, was detained yesterday by Thai police in Pattaya for attacking his 20-year-old girlfriend, Kanittha. Murphy purportedly assaulted her with a golf club, which he claimed was staged for a YouTube video.
Kanittha and her younger sister sought help from a 55-year-old maid named Anchulee, reporting that Murphy became violent. Subsequently, Anchulee reported the matter to Huay Yai Police Station, and officers, along with Sawang Boriboon Foundation rescuers, hurried to the scene.
Attempting to evade arrest, Murphy barricaded himself in a bathroom and only surrendered after his sister and neighbours persuaded him. He also suffered a cut to his stomach during the altercation and required medical attention.
Kanittha recalled being awoken by the sound of breaking glass and discovered Murphy in a fit of rage, bleeding and shouting incoherently.
A friend of Murphy asserted the incident was contrived for his YouTube channel, which boasts over 2.4 million subscribers. However, police dismissed this claim due to CCTC footage procured from a neighbour. The video reportedly shows Murphy behaving erratically before the assault.
Murphy is yet to be formally charged as police are waiting for his recovery for further questioning.

The deputy inspector of Mae Hong Son Tourist Police, Pol. Lt. Col. Suwit Boonyaphen, stated that Mr. Thomas's videos were critical of Thai public and private agencies.
Mr. Thomas was tracked down at his residence in Pai district where police urged him to understand the potential consequences of his actions. He was ordered to delete all his videos hosted on YouTube and other social media platforms and was taken to the police station for recording the incident.
Mr. Thomas was informed that if he continues posting potentially harmful material about Thailand online, he could face prosecution under Thai law.
Nevertheless, a senior officer from the national Tourist Police headquarters stated the existing evidence would be forwarded to the Immigration Police for further action, implying that Mr. Thomas has already violated Thai law.

A 12-year-old Thai boy, Thirayu Chaichana, used social media to raise an alarm about a pedophile who had sexually assaulted him in a shopping mall bathroom. The incident happened in a men's restroom at the Central Khon Kaen shopping mall in Khon Kaen, a province in Isaan, Thailand on Tuesday, April 23.
Thirayu narrated that the man had begun staring at him once he went into the bathroom. Being alone, he was afraid and decided to secretly film the incident for his own safety. The man approached him, grabbed his privates, and kissed him. He attempted to forcefully take Thirayu into a toilet but Thirayu acted like he agreed and used the chance to escape.
Afterwards, he reported the incident to a security guard and waited for the police to show up. However, the perpetrator defended himself by claiming he only wanted to get Thirayu's contact information.
Thirayu was urged by the police to either accept compensation from the man or file a complaint at the police station. Since he was in a rush, he accepted 3,000 baht from the man as compensation.
Thirayu also shared a video of the ordeal, which showed that the man was carrying condoms, indicating his intent to rape him.
Thirayu then discovered that multiple other netizens online had also encountered the same man. Some also reported having had similar experiences, yet the man had never faced any legal consequences and continued his predatory behavior.
Furthermore, there were additional reports of other nefarious activities occurring at the mall, such as a different man filming underneath women’s skirts. A security guard failed to take action when informed about the latter incident. Thirayu and his mother are currently contemplating filing legal charges against the perpetrator.

As far as I know there are organizations all over the world, including Thailand, who help women in such situations.
It definitely doesn't help to tell women that they are helpless and can't do anything.
As long as they can walk and talk, they can ask for help and will get help.
The better question to ask is
Why do men think they can beat up on women?
Help is not easy, even in western nations most women refuges have waiting lists, no emergency funding and not enough workers -

A chauffeur of the Service Centre for Disabled People in the Isaan province of Udon Thani posed as a youth welfare officer to lure a 13 year old girl into a rape. He even sexually assaulted the girl in front of her two year old sibling.
The victim’s mother, 31 year old Cat, urged Thai news agencies to help seek justice for her 13 year old daughter, Khaimuk. Cat stated that she filed a complaint with the police, and the case was handed to an attorney but there has been no development for more than 10 months.
Cat revealed to the public that a 33 year old Thai man, later identified as Thanakorn Srikattanaprom, allegedly raped Khaimuk at his home in May of last year.
Khaimuk stated that she engaged in an online conversation with Thanakorn for a week and met him at his home. Thanakorn asked her to have sex with him and she was afraid to refuse for fear he would hurt her.
Cat said Khaimuk brought the matter to her attention, so she went to see Thanakorn to sort it out. Thanakorn told her that he was an authority from the provincial Youth and Women’s Welfare Centre and that this case could affect his career.
Cat said she felt sorry for him and agreed to accept 70,000 baht compensation from Thanakorn. Cat added that she also forced him to sign a document promising never to have anything to do with Khaimuk again.
Not authority, but chauffeur
Thanakorn broke his promise and came to Cat’s house in June while she was away. Thanakorn sexually assaulted Khaimuk again, this time in front of Khaimuk’s sibling, aged only two years old.
Cat said she would not give Thanakorn a second chance and reported the sexual assault to the police. Thanakorn dared Cat to take legal action, saying that his relative was an attorney, so he could easily escape the charges.
Cat added that Thanakorn’s words seemed to be true because the case has not gone anywhere since it was submitted to the Office of the Attorney General.
The director of the Udon Thani Provincial Social Development and Human Security Office (M-Society), Pranom Uttarak, stepped forward to clarify the case because the rapist worked at the Service Centre for Disabled People, which M-Society runs.
Nevertheless, Thanakorn’s claimed authority was unfounded, he served as a chauffeur at the Service Centre for Disabled People.
Pranom reassured Cat and her daughter that he would undertake a comprehensive investigation into the matter and ensure they received appropriate compensation. No report has been provided regarding the delay in the case or any potential involvement of Thanakorn’s relative in the Attorney General’s legal proceedings.

A Chinese woman went on a rampage in the southern province of Krabi after breaking up with her boyfriend. She blocked the road, attempted to undress, and bit a police officer on the arm.Mueang Krabi Police Station and Tourist Police officers tried to calm the 34 year old Chinese woman, Zhang Yanxin, after she startled motorists. Witnesses reported that she was speaking loudly to herself before entering the road, obstructing passing vehicles. Locals intervened to prevent her from undressing and promptly informed the police.
Officers spent a long time calming her down and eventually convinced her to go to the police station. However, upon arrival, Zhang lost control again, throwing office supplies at police officers. She then fled from the police station and blocked the road again.
A group of police officers rushed to prevent her from undressing, while others managed the traffic for the safety of both the woman and motorists. Concerned about the escalating situation, officers contacted a rescue team to help suppress the situation and take Zhang to a Krabi Hospital.
While waiting for the rescue team, the police attempted to reason with her politely, avoiding the use of force, but their efforts were in vain. Zhang continued shouting, kicked a police motorcycle, and resisted arrest. Officers managed to take her to the detention room even though Zhang threw her shoes at them and bit one officer on the arm.The rescue team finally arrived and carried her to the rescue car. Rescuers had to tie her up with a stretcher preventing her from causing further chaos.
A traffic police officer at the Mueang Krabi Police Station, Wisate Phatchanee, reported that Zhang went on a rampage first thing in the morning. Police sent her to the hospital once, but she was released and resumed her disturbing behaviour.
Wisate disclosed that Zhang had a dispute with her boyfriend, leading to their breakup. He mentioned that she displayed a range of emotions from laughing to crying and being angry. Wisate stated that the police would report the matter to the Chinese Embassy.by Petch Petpailin

Emergency responders from Phra That Puakam municipality and Muang Ngai sub-district rushed to the scene to find a large buffalo bear in the compound. The injured man's right arm was severely damaged from the elbow down. He was transported to Chiang Dao Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that the buffalo bear had been properly cared for by the local wildlife foundation in accordance with the law. The bear had originally been under the supervision of Doi Pha Daeng National Park in Chiang Dao since 1993, reported Daily News.
Due to various constraints, the foundation took over its care later, and tragically, during a routine feeding, the volunteer's arm was bitten by the bear, prompting the swift intervention of the rescue team to extract the injured limb.
