For me and I believe many Ex Pat retirees living in Thailand , it is the need to apply for visa extension every year and report every 90 days . I'm British , before coming to live in Thailand I lived in Italy . After the first 3 months one has to apply for residency , if granted one is given 5 years before reporting again to extend . All being well one will be granted permission to stay in perpetuity . It is a pity the same doesn't apply in Thailand .

Totally agree with your thoughts and comments!

What is your area?  I would like to know so I can avoid it and the farangs who reside there.

Non caring bad attitude people like are being described here, don’t deserve to be in a place like Thailand with not appreciating it for what it is for the expats like myself (I know that there are many others, like minded) who just want to live here and enjoy Thailand for what it is!

People who complain about everything all the time will never be happy, I read many on here who  just complain all the time. Why waste your breath and still stay here?

Once you’ve been back in your country of origin for at least 3 months then post your true feelings?

I don't see anything negative about the way the immigration chief is doing his job, catching foreign criminals and crimes against foreigners.  I do feel Thai Visa adds a very negative twists in their headlines on has this forum. I don't know weather that is to get people commenting or to make us feel unwanted even more. Anyway foreigners on immigration radar is his fuxking job nothing new here.

I agree that ANY foreigners with criminal intentions need to be dealt with by the officials and for the most of us I would say that they are not welcome here in Thailand?

The more incidents that can be associated to farangs the more stringent the laws will become to make it harder for us all to stay here!

the authorities need to do whatever they need to do to rid Thailand of people associated with vice and crime! This will make it a safer place for all.

Just raid every foreign girly bar at odd hours. You should be able to round up at least a plane load a day in Pattaya alone. Good i hope this guys stays . Too many dodgy foreigners throughout Thailand that cause problems. 1-800- GET -DODGY- OUT.

Totally agree, the most of us will be here in Thailand for a different life then where we originate from! People like the ones quoted are just trouble and label us all as bad farangs!

  5. Hey guys, has anyone tried out the car insurance advertised in the thaivisa daily newsletter? The insurance company is called Roojai. My Mitsubishi truck is up for renewal in May and we been getting quotes! The Rojas quote is cheap and they appear to tick all the boxes, nearly full value of the car if stolen or accidentally dent, free car rental if repairs needed, 24/7 breakdown coverage (promise to arrive within 30 minutes.....not sure about that like?), windscreen coverage...etc.

just want some verification, good or bad, from others who have used this company (if any?..lol)

I was led to believe that the sugar cane farmers burn their field BEFORE harvesting, thereby getting rid of unwanted leaves etc, and scaring off any snakes.

I stand corrected, yes the sugar cane is burnt prior to harvesting! And, if the leaves are not burnt off or removed in some other way, the factory will not accept the harvest for processing?

So, after verifying how this works, this makes the situation of trying to stop the burning or at least try and find an alternative a non starter as the harvest is the livelihood of the local farmers and their families?

i guess it’s time to move to a coastal area!

Maybe where you are in Chaing Mai but, I live in Kam Phaeng Phet and they have been burning the sugar beet remains for more than 3 months now! The pollution is visible & bad (large pieces of burnt carbonized sugar beet remains constantly falling from the skies) but, really the bigger danger to health is the smaller particles that the eye cannot see but we are constantly breathing in!

......maybe the field flooding method may be a good remedy in the many flat areas of Thailand!

At this time of year the fields that are being burned are in the hills on an incline. Impossible to flood them, the water just runs off and not much water anyway.
