And the way the women are covered up and restricted, in Malaysia there are some very nice full-figures under that cloth, and some women know how to play it suggestively, but don't try -- the local faithful could decide to group together and carry out god's will, and it will be much worse for the girl than your infidel self.
Sigh....Probably the gayest town I've been to this side of San Francisco.
Lol the prayers don't bother me, it's kinda like being in an old movie...
You didn't notice the non-muslim women who don't dress that way?!?
I worked outta SF for 25 years so I don't share your guy's homophobia lol, I'm as straight as it gets and can assure you there are plenty of straight beautiful open-minded women in SF.

have fun , make sure you keep us posted. Your already living in Malaysia right now right? Or like the other 1000 posters that threaten to leave....one day soon ????
The basic concept you still fail to grasp is a very simple one, if 60% of the population is Muslim, then 40% is NOT!
Does that make sense yet?
If you can see, then at a glance you can discern who is who.
Hint: the attire.
40% is a lot of women to focus on.
While you focus on conversation and religious fear, I'll focus on the 40% ????
And yes I am presently in Malaysia, walking the talk brah

It's just such a dumb question. I wouldn't know about prostitution as I don't pay people to like me.
Intuition tells me it probably works pretty much the same globally- the sooner it ends the sooner they get paid and are done with you. Cause they ain't there for you they want your money.
And I can't fathom what's fulfilling about that.
Oh yeah I forgot, you are trying to be funny.
A swing and a miss.

What you clearly don't realize is that only 61% of the Malaysian population is Muslim.

Muslims hate dogs. Maybe that’s your scene, certainly not mine.
Rabid aggressive street dogs, ya I'll pass.
Funny how 2 people can have such different experiences.
I disagree with everything you said except about the Indian food, it's great in Malaysia. Oh yeah, booze is expensive too means not contending with drunks. That's a plus in my book.
The air smells so clean and not exhaust fumey in KL. People are well-dressed and obviously bathed and there are sinks with actual soap everywhere I look, unlike many other places I've been.
It's def a 'to each his own' thing...

I would be interested in knowing more about these places. KM looks very modern.
KL is awesome super modern and well thought out. I just spent several days touring parks all throughout the city. Just Google images of parks in KL and get a look. Huge expanses of jungle reserves and parks, right in the middle of the city, free and easy. A fabulous cheap modern light rail subway system that could rival Paris' in it's reach. Great air quality at present. Safe and clean and dirt cheap. Sidewalks everywhere so your not constantly dodging cars. A sea of restaurants. Polite friendly people who are fluent in English. Cheap flights galore. An excellent long distance rail system.
Penang was a blast tho I was disappointed with the beaches- dangerous box jelly fish and pollution damper them big time. The national park with tons of monkeys was fab tho.
I've been told Langkawi is a much better beach option and that's right off the coast from Thailand, also with an airport.
I highly recommend Malaysia and it's so cheap and easy from Thailand.
Between the two countries, I've lots more exploring to do..

The air pollution in Malaysia originates from the slash and burn of plantations in Sumatra and is at it's height from around August to October.
August to October, exactly when the air is cleanest in the north of Thailand, washed daily by the rains.
Right now the air is good in Malaysia, and brutal in the north of Thailand from February through April.
I see an easy seasonal rotation for those who like clean air and have the freedom of mobility.
I wonder in Bangkok has such a pattern, not bad aq now but quite grim just recently...

Thailand used to be cheaper, but with the weakening Ringgit, I am not so sure.
Who said anything about Bangkok? Lol.
My experience is comparing Chiang Mai to KL and Penang, and I'll say it again, Thailand was cheaper for me.

I was in KL for a month a few years back and the pollution was unbearable, so I spent most of the time ill. I believe that mass burning was taking place in the island of Sumatra (Indonesia) at the time so I don't know how prevalent this is. So I don't think you can escape it.
What time of year was that?
My whole point about the pollution is that yes it can be escaped, I'm doing just that.
Actually Bangkok is faring far better than Chiang Mai at present, Pattaya looks good and the southern islands are fine.
Just look at the air quality index maps...
I will take it as it comes and leave accordingly when necessary.
I love Thailand and look forward to more time in the north when rainy season starts.
But right now you couldn't pay me to go to Chiang Mai.

You are correct, even up to 80 baht in the tourist spots and on the islands of Thailand.

If you actually read my post, then the snide one-liner he followed with, it might make more sense to you.
I listed a number of things and he said "boring"
Pretty basic math here actually.
But I get it, you were bored, thanks for sharing, I guess thats it, run along now...

Us non-drinkers can complain about fruit smoothies costing 45-60 baht in Malaysia, as in Thailand they are 25-40 baht.
Hardly a deal breaker tho.

The women are adorable, freindly, well-dressed, well-mannered and well-behaved, and super easy to talk to, most speak fluent English.
Actually tons of Muslim women in the south of Thailand, islands, ect.
And I find them all quite charming.

The nightlife of Kuala Lumpur was happening big time and even the bars of Penang, tho I hit it for the finale of Chinese New Year's.
Lots of live music in KL.
Prostitution I expect would be far less in Malaysia but I've no interest in that, in fact I appreciate being able to walk around without being constantly propositioned by sex workers who view me as an ATM.
I guess it all depends on what your looking for.

Chased off by visa restrictions, I decided to explore Malaysia.
I'm so happy that I did!
After 4 months in Thailand and one in Malaysia as a budget tourist, here are some observations.
Feel free to add yours!
-Thailand is 25% cheaper for food, but I've been getting nicer budget hotels in Malaysia for the same price
-Thai food is better (imho)
Fewer options for vegetarian in Malaysia, but far more good Indian food
-the air quality is much much cleaner in Malaysia, especially right now. Vehicle exhausts are far cleaner and notably less fumey. Significantly less burning of garbage and crops.
-it is much safer to walk the cities of Malaysia, given ample sidewalks they don't drive/park on
-drivers are somewhat more courteous towards pedestrians in Malaysia.
Still not courteous enough tho imo.
-far more English spoken in Malaysia
-far more green areas in Malaysian cities
-public transport in Malaysia is light years ahead of Thailand in every regard
-people seem freindlier and more polite in Malaysia, tho probably partly a function of being able to communicate much better in English
-far less numbers of rude Chinese mainland tourists cutting in front of us in line and coughing in our faces.
-more smoking in hotels, restaurants and other public spaces in Malaysia.
In Thailand it was usually a falang blowing smoke in my face. In Malaysia, it's everywhere, especially in hotels, EVEN though the government just started a smoking ban.
I hope they get serious on that nasty disgusting habit.
-less alcohol availability and consumption in Malaysia is a refreshing change imo
* And of course, Malaysia makes it much easier and cheaper for tourists regarding visa exemptions...
Thoughts?

I'm not too sure about that. If a gang beats up a tourist, I'm not sure that would be good publicity for tourism....
Remember, his country has an embassy here, and they hold some significant weight
???? Oh dear, I had a good chuckle over this one!
Ya, gangs sit around and contemplate if their actions will be "good for tourism" ????
Embassies are waiting patiently for sex tourists, eager to help them with prostitute issues! ????

Other jellyfish from time to time, never heard of anyone in the Noosa area dying from a jellyfish sting. . Shark attacks been a few, more probable to die in a car crash, drowning etc etc.
Or you could swim in safer waters and not risk dying at all...

My ex cured hers by:
-Vegetable juice fasts and cleanses
-Vegan diet
-high dose probiotics, high dose high quality multivitamins and fish oils
-No sugars including fruit
-no fried foods
-very little wheat priducts
-Only good oils and salts
(Nothing saturated, pink Himalayan salt)
-organics as much as possible
-no more tap water
-African black soap, tea tree oil, and aloe vera
-Yoga, breathing exercises, meditation and other stress reduction techniques.
She refused to continue drugs because of bad side effects.
It took perseverance, patience and hard work and time.
But she is more active now than she's been in years, looks 10 years younger and feels great and happier.
Arthritic joint pain disappeared. Sleep improved.
No telling what worked better than others because she made all the changes at once.
But something sure worked.
Food for thought.

Complete and utter rubbish, never seen a spider on an Oz beach.

And so you are denying deadly spiders exist in Australia?
More to the point, which you ignored, the waters are dangerous?
Warm waters are irrelevant if you can't get in them...

Seriously? Australian beaches are renowned for dangerous creatures: sharks, jellyfish, and spiders that can kill you, so I've heard.

The Canaries are wonderful, cheap, cleanish air... but lots of people...
Nice place for sure and knowing Spanish helps

Clean? I'm from there. I watch air quality indexes and pollution spill news. Are you implying that the ocean or the air isn't polluted?
Another wee problem with SoCal is it'll cost you a year's living in Thailand to stay there for one month.
And literally millions and millions of people to share it with, some of whom are quite dangerous.
Not to mention the beaches close at 10pm and it's rigorously enforced...

We are talking about a rather paltry sum, to make her feel comfortable walking away, from a situation that did not work out. .... you are fortunate it did not get worse for you. Do not show disrespect for such a simple thing. She was not into it. It is not an easy job.. Most working girls here are really nice people....
Always behave with respect here, especially with Thai women in the business. They deserve that.
Tho I'm assuming this is just a troll post, and I admit I didn't read it all as I have enough of the OP's gibberish already, I agree with spidermike.
Treat people like human beings and you will live a longer happier life.
The OP, if serious, is obviously a complete jerk who is going to find out soon not to grab women by the throat, rip them off, ect.
I remember reading about another farang who grabbed a Thai woman by the throat, apparently in jest, and he is no longer breathing.
If OP what you spew is true, I recommend you get on the next flight home.
There already might be a plan to visit you with 5 friends soon to sort out your attitude problem with a little non-verbal communication.
Don't think it isn't coming... that hotel might know something you don't.
And you would deserve it.

Why in the world would you bother with taxis when the mass transit system in KL is so cheap, fast, thorough and fantastic?
Grab is dirt cheap if you must have a private car and makes taxis archaic anyways.
