My friend would like to bring his dog to Thailand from South Africa . He has been quoted a ridiculous price for the service and paperwork. He also heard that if he traveled with the dog from South Africa it would be considerably less. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience about this? He is currently living in Thailand with his Thai wife and is planning to go back to South Africa for a visit and would like to bring his dog of 8 years back with him.

When we moved from Udon Thani to Chiang Mai i figured out the cheapest option was to put everything in boxes and send it using Kerry Express (about 420 THB for 25kg, something like 50 THB extra per box if they pick it up at your home)
I drove the bike, so no idea how much it costs, but afaik sending a small bike at the post office costs something like 2k THB.
The only alternative price wise would be to rent a pickup one way and drive it down yourself, but this will probably not be cheaper (unless you have tons of stuff)
If you want to pay somebody to drive your stuff down there with a pickup that's about 1700km, just the cost for fuel and car alone will be about 10k THB, so i expect you would have to pay at least 15k THB for this.
That sounds pretty good. I suppose I would have to buy the boxes, have some plastic boxes from our move up here 3½ years ago. I also have a big bike which I intend to ride it down there so I either ship the small bike as you suggested or on a rented pickup truck. Thanks for the ideas. I'll definitely look into Kerry Express.

Hello, we are planning on moving from Chiang Mai to Rayong in mid June. I would like any advice on renting a truck to move our personal things with a motorbike. No furniture to speak of, but many boxes. Any advice would be appreciated or contacts of anyone who rents truck. Thanks

Transfers through Bangkok Bank's New York branch will stop working soon, Transferwise might not show up as transfer from abroad, so it looks like the only reliable choice is to make a wire transfer.
You should look for a bank which doesn't charge you 40USD for the transfer.
Where did you hear that Bangkok Bank's New York branch will stop working soon?

I wonder how much thai bank fees will be? I have Kbank
When I transfer funds via BKK Bank New York, they charge me 5.00 USD there and 200 B when it's in my acct. here...very reasonable.

Click on the members name and you will see an envelope which is the PM (personal message) option. As I said on the other thread you need an agent.
Thanks, got it. And would be nice to find an agent in the CM area.

So you have been lying to get your extension. I am sorry but I have no sympathy for you. Better get ready to use an agent.
I'm not looking for your sympathy and I have been exploring all the options as well as thousands who have been using income affidavit for all the past years. All ready have the issue resolved.

@BearsAny chance you could go back, start fresh with a new I/O and possibly get a different result? Or ask to see a supervisor and, of course, have relevant proof of the income you declared on the Affidavit. They have always been able to ask for that.
No, I can not. I have no relevant proof of income which I declared on the affidavit.

I'll make a suggestion that might get me some flak..but go see one of the established agents. Take your paper work with you. They will tell you what you are missing.
You don't have to hire them and if they say 'we can help for 20,000" then just leave. But you can use them to gain info.
The old G4T offices are still charging 3000THB (plus the 1900 TI fee) to handle a retirement extension. Maybe they can get it done with the paper work you already have.
Negative, the only paperwork I have is the income affidavit and can get my socialsecurity paper but not enough to meet the min. 65k

"Maybe she knows..." ..another question from you about do extension at CW, which would be crazy etc. Don't wish to offend but if I had been with a Thai gf, I would have hopefully worked out exactly what io wants to see. In detail. CM small joint, if your gf does not know, go back and find out currently what is required. Take with you as much banking stuff you can. You might even get a different io
They wanted to see bank transfer of at least 65k in my thai bank account but did not mention how far back and I didn't ask because I can not show that amount. I'm not going back there and as far as I can see there are only 2 io's...been going there for 3 years and it was always smooth until now with the new regs.

Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it. Where or how do I PM you? I'm new to thaivisa. Can I give you an email or number here?

I guess one question is... along with your income affidavit (which SHOULD be honored by Immigration), how many months of 65K deposits into a Thai bank account were they wanting you to show?
I don't know, he didn't say. Talked to my gf a while. Maybe she knows...I'll ask her. I need to resolve this issue somehow. Any suggestions from anyone would be appreciated.

Have there been any other recent reports out of CM of Americans with a valid income affidavit being turned away for lack of monthly Thai bank deposits, especially in the CM subforum threads?
No, I haven't seen any but looking around. Curious, I need this issue.

Is that the area you live, bkk. If not you would need do a tm28 and 30 and lease etc to back up your new address. You need to do your extension where you live.
No, I live in Chiang Mai. My tm30 & lease is in Chiang Mai. If you are sure about that then going to Wattana will be a waste of time.

What they want is backup proof for your affidavit. Money going into a Thai bank is one of them. You need to show how your are getting your money here.
I understand that but the gentleman who got his in Wattana did not have to show.

Really!. OK thinking good idea you start a thread about your experience because there are many opposite posts.
Yes, a lot of many opposite posts. I'm trying to find out if others had similar experiences at the Wattana Office. I'll give it a shot around the 8th of Feb. Have nothing to lose.

I'm thinking of going to the Wattana Office where the other gentleman got his retirement visa yesterday with an income affidavit from the U.S. dated in Nov. 2018

The op was asking about income affidavit. Not showing transfers. Did you present with affidavit from your embassy?
Yes, I did. U.S. Embassy.

Yes. I think its honored for 6 months.
I got denied yesterday at the Chiang Mai Immigration Office. They wanted to show them actual transfers of money to a Thai Bank.

Do you think that they will still honor my Income Affidavit dated Dec. 21, 2018 from the U.S. Consulate if I go there the 1st week in Feb. I live in Chiang Mai now and my retirement visa expires March 9th. I surely would like that to happen.
