Immigration's job is to keep the wrong sort of people out of the country. Given the foul tirade of abuse she came out with, you have to say they probably did their job quite well in this case.

If they let her in from the beginning then all those rants wouldn't have came out of her mouth... same goes with the Thai immigration in Don Meoung airport harassed me, my 16 year old daughter, her cousin and her grandma when we traveled to Thailand in 2014 with the US passports. Those idiots wanted to talk to my daughter alone and I told them that I want to know what is going on, they said I have to step away and I've told they can only do that over my dead body, my daughter was scared and I screamed at those goons at the top of my lungs. They brought us into the back room and I've told them that I want to call the US embassy to let them aware of my situation and they finally send another guy in and said that "we just wanted to make sure it's legit trip", I've told the guy that you guys are bullshit, you guys are nothing but being bully and it won't work on me. They finally let us through after about 90 minutes of bully. We went to Australia, Europe, Vietnam, Lao, Canada, Mexico, Singapore, Hongkong and never encounter any issue like Thailand. My family won't ever go to the "Fake land of the smile country again!", our next trip will be Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines!

Yes another one. should we be surprised ? If its your first time here and you hadn't done your homework, lesson learned.

They may well interview the bar owner who will deny anything and wouldnt it be good idea to interview the tuk tuk driver that set off the path of this ongoing scam.

If the authorities cant clean up the karaoke bars, they know are unlicensed, what hope is there. Yes its not hard to theorise who owns them

The bars owners are colluding with the police and paying them bribes, so when you file a complaint they'll just said we'll interview them but won't do anything to them... so it's a lose lose situation for the foreigners. Laos and Cambodia sound more fun when come to honesty!

    1. I sure hope that 2 of the 3 goons that got axed from the force from DonMueng airport were the two punks that gave me(U.S passport holder) a hard time when I took my 16 year old daughter(U.S. Passport holder), my daughter's 16 year old cousin(Vietnamese passport holder) her 66 year old grandma (my ex wife's mother in law/ Vietnamese passport holder) my step daughter(Vietnamese passport holder) on a tour group (5 days, 4 nights) provided by a tour company in Vietnam to Thailand back in 2014. At first one of them approached my daughter and asked her some questions and she got scared she then called me over so I went to inform them that she is my daughter and the <deleted> just told me to stay away because it wasn't my business, (I got so pissed and wish that I have a freaking AR15 at the time!) I told him that of course it is my business since she is my daughter and she's only 16, I was angry to the point that I screamed at them so loud. They then took us to the back room and started to asked for proof that each of us must have certain amount of money and that we're not allowed to get into the country!#$@% if we can't provide financial proof, I told them why they don't asked others people on our group but only single us out, I told them that I have over 2K in USD (B66,000) and 2 credit cards worth $25K so you don't have to worry about my financial situations. I also told them that I want to call the US embassy to informed them that we're being harrassed, threaten by the stupid custom officers for no reason. They finally call another dude over and said that this is misunderstanding because Thailand has encounter human traffickings, I told him that is Bull shit cuz I clearly stated who we are and we have US passports and those two <deleted> still gave us hard time for no reason whatsoever! And people always commended that Thai people are very nice, very honest, always smile and always welcome you.... Really?

Amazing what they did to this woman and her family. She should have paid the bribe. TIT!

1200 dollars just for vaping? I'd rather get deport and go to another country(Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, Vietnam, China, Philippines they're all the same as Thailand!) and spend my 1200 there. Thailand is not smart, if they keep doing this the tourists soon will choose another destinations for their vacations!

You got it, 827 was the fine, 100000 was the bail , 25000 or so was legal fees and 4 nights in jail, plus another 25000 for air fare and all over sudden 40000 sounds like a gift, does not it?

if she did not throw a hissy but negotiated , it could have easily been 20000, instead of her total of 240000 as she claims

even B20k is still a ridiculously big fine just for vaping out in the open.
