  1. Weird thing happening right now: I have an unlimited 4mpbs package till April 16 but I get texts every couple of hours that all my data is used up and a window opens that wants me to buy additional data. If you don't pay attention or think you have no more data, you could easily be tricked into buying it. My internet is still working and the package is still active in my App. So what is this about? A new scam to make money? It's annoying...

    Anyone else getting theses messages?

  2. I'm planning to do a visa run to Malaysia and was wondering what the requirements are, besides my passport. Do I really need 10.000baht in cash as a German citizen or is that only for other nationalities (visa on arrival)? I'm leaving in 14 days and actually only need a new visa to avoid a short overstay.

This is also my first time in Thailand and so far I only have the 60 day tourist visa and a 30 day extension in my passport. So there shouldn't be any problems, since I have a return flight and do this the first time, right?

I'm in Ao Nang right now and was planning to book with an agency (heard it was only 750) but they all charge 1500. So I was planning to do it myself and get a bus from Krabi bus terminal to Hat Yai and a bus from there to either Padang besar or Sadao. Heard Sadao is the better option if you run into problems bc you find accommodation there and more busses. Has anyone experience with this route and maybe can give me some advise? Or does anyone know where I can buy the 750baht ticket from an agency?

    Thanks.

  3. I've decided to try my luck at the Malaysian border. They offer tickets from Krabi for around 700-900 baht. Could someone please tell me what I need for this border run besides my passport? My current visa ends on April 14th and my return flight is April 17th so I already have a flight out of Thailand. Do I also need cash? Should I take all my luggage with me in case there are problems and I can't return or is this easy without problems? This is also my first trip to Thailand. Currently only 60 day tourist visa plus 30 day extension in my passport.

I concur ,have used it for 2 years and it is as stated , Unlimited and never throttled.

Sent from my Redmi Note 6 Pro using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

As many have stated here again and again, people with sim cards registered before Feb 1st can still use the unlimited packages. Everyone else only gets packages with a data limit and significantly low speed after you have used the included data. Prices for old unlimited packages also seem to have changed and are a lot higher now. Not sure if the unlimited option is also affected. Maybe someone can give an update if unlimited is still available after April 1st.

  5. I have to do a visa run before my departure and was wondering if you guys could advise me the best and cheapest option.

I'm currently staying on Koh Tao till the beginning of next week and plan to go to Krabi after that. Where should I do the visa run? What route is cheaper and more comfortable? Should I go to Chumphon and do the visa run in Rangon? I think the ferry to Chumphon is around 500baht. Is it easy to get transportation to Rangon and how much does it cost and how long does it take? Do they also charge in Burma to get the visa ($10)? Can I do this in one day and go directly to Krabi afterwards or do I need a hotel? How much would this trip cost?

I could also go to Krabi directly and do the visa run to Malaysia. The ticket from Tao to Krabi is 750 and the cost for the visa run from Krabi to Malaysia 700-1000 (dont know if these prices are still current), depending on the season and takes a whole day.

    Any suggestions?

  6. I got the 4mbps unlimited package for 30 days today and with the activation text came the info that the price for the package will change to 650 baht after March 28th onward. Don't know if it is also still unlimited or just internet non stop with a data limit.

The woman in the AIS shop said that all the old prices might not work after that date but she wasn't sure. So maybe if your old package is expiring soon and you still want the old prices, maybe get it before that date.

  7. Do you guys know if there is a code for 1mbps for only 1 day? The link to the Ais webinterface kneedeep provided only has 4mbps for 1 day. I would like to test the speed before I choose the 4mbps or 1mbps for 1 month. Dont really do much Youtube or Netflix on my mobile anyway and maybe 1mbps is enough for me.

I think you are okay if you have no reason to worry about the overstay stamp.

I had a similar situation, still had to pay for overstay, 2 days, my flight was just after midnight!

So even if you go through security/immigration before midnight, you have an overstay if your flight leaves after midnight. I guess the actual departure of the flight then counts and not the time they stamp your passport. Weird.

1900 baht is quite a lot of money just to avoid an overstay....don't know. Also spent almost 4 hours today at the immigration on Samui. I actually avoided to the get the extension in BKK bc I thought Samui is not so busy. I was so wrong and another beach day ruined by bureaucracy.

  9. Unfortunately, I messed up my flight planning and now need your help ....

I arrived on January 15th with a 60 days tourist visa, which expires on March 15th. Today I was at immigration on Samui and got a 30 days extension until April 14th. Problem is, I obviously miscalculated and now probably have a 1-2 day overstay. My flight is on April 16th at 2.15 AM from Bangkok. I had thought, I get a stamp until April 15th and I would go through security on April 15th/before midnight anyway and therefore would not have a overstay (since I'm going through security before midnight and hence have left Thailand already on April 15th, right?) or max. one day overstay they would not charge me for. With the stamp until April 14th, now I have one or two days (???) overstay and it would cost me 1000 baht and the stamp in my passport.

I'm probably in the region around Phuket or Krabi near the end of my stay and could theoretically make a visarun to Malaysia, which would cost me about the same as the overstay but would also cost me a day of my vacation. What would you guys advise me? Pay 1000 baht at the airport and enjoy another day of my vacation or better play it safe and do a Visa run?

Do I actually have a 2 day overstay or is it really just one, if I go through security on April 15th (and maybe they won't even charge me?). An overstay currently has no consequences for re-entering Thailand. Could such a stamp in my passport cause any problems if I visit the US in the future?

i confirm, AIS it s real unlimited, just choose the speed (512 - 1 mbps - 4 or 10 mbps)

I think he is referring to the new packages you'll find now on the AIS website and promoted in the shops. It looks like packages for newly activated sim cards have a data limit now and the reduced speed after that is abysmal (64mbps, 386 etc).
