Can anyone tell me that when doing your 90 day reporting check or anything to do with the retirement visas/extensions, Can you do this in any immigration office or does it have to be in the area/province you reside? Thanks.

My friend just returned to his own Condo in Pattaya  from the UK and was fined for not notifying immigration within 24 hours of his return. They said it was not new!! More than one official at Jomtien Pattaya said this. This sounds crazy if you own your own Condo! I am aware that if you are renting  the owner has to do this and hotels are supposed to do it! I thought the arrival card did this!

Has anyone else heard of this? Is it something that always existed and now they are enforcing it? Any info would be gratefully received!

Can anyone confirm that letters from the local thai bank confirming the 800,000 deposit for retirement visa have to be done on the day  of visit to IO?

Before it was a couple of days. Also do you now need a summary of your bank statements as well as certain pages from your bankbook?

It appears that the Thailand Government may introduce civil partnerships after the election. This was agreed in principle in December 2018.

As I have a teachers pension in the UK I asked whether my possible future  civil partner would benefit from my death.

I was told by Teachers Pensions that if I sent the actual certificate to them and filled out the forms my partner would be eligible to part of my pension for life.

He would also receive my full monthly pension for three months. They have put this in writing. Is there anybody else who has similar information?

This amounts to about 40000 baht a month for the remainder of his life. Too good to be true?
