Is there anything I can do about the way he was treated at the airport by immigration, reference 7K Cad.
Posting the incident on social media and western media will probably be effective. Reporting the incident, even names to Thai immigration will probably not appease you at all, that if you get a reply from Thai IM. Again losing face comes into play and Thai people accepts this kind of behavior. I had different experience at check-in at the airport for flight out of country. for sake of time, and i will not go into details. After I returned to Thailand several days later. I how badly I felt because of the way i was treated, which she noticed. I said I was going to report it to the airline company. She told me it was going to be a waste of time and I would not get a reply. She was right...three yeast has passed, no reply or response whatsoever for the company. Some of you here may have had a more positive experience, but it is a way of life here. Do you think most people in Thailand are concerned about the situation with the Redbull Airest, Yingluck, of Taksin? No, they would prefer to go on to another subject, when mentioned.
Good luck

Mango Bob,
I have Tricare for Life also, plus medicare insurance and a Federal Employee Health Benefit Plan through Aetna. 1. Have you or anyone else here, submitted claims to Tricare?
2. since I have medicare insurance, parts A and B, can this be used as insurance for Non A-O visa requirements?
3. Do you or anyone else here know if my FEHB plan with Aetna, can be transferred to
Aetna Insurance.Thailand?
Thanks in advance for any information you may have on this matter

Will the health insurance one has in their home country be accept for the insurance requirement?

AFAIK, there was never any question or serious indication that the latest insurance requirement was in any way going to apply to marriage extensions of stay or even to O visas based on marriage.
What type of insurance is required. Will the health insurance coverage one has in their home country be accepted by IM ?

Guys, I have question also. I had an O-A multiple entry that expired 7 June 2019. I entered Thailand in December of 2019. Departed on March 26, 2019. Got a re-entry permit before leaving 26 March 2019 with permission to stay until 11 December 2019. I returned to Thailand in August 2019, but did not get an re-entry permit before I left in September.
I plan to return to Thailand the first week of December 2019 before the 11th.
Will I have a problem since I did not get re-entry, even though the permission to stay was until 11 December 2019. Do I have any options> Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

Thank you very much Nailsbrains8 for the suggestion of flying from a not far away country. I will do that because I have a O-A visa, multiple entry. I got a reentry permit that extended my permission to stay until 11 Dec 2019 when I left in March 2019. My O-A expiration date was June 5, 2019. I returned to Thailand in August of 2019, but did not get a reentry permit when I left in September 2019. Upon arrival in August, my passport was stamped with permission to stay until 11 December. Since I did not get a reentry permit before in August, will I have a problem if I return by 11 December 2019? Thanks for any advice.

As an example to confirm what has been said here. I receive a O-A visa multiple entry in the USA dated June 5, 2018. i did not enter Thailand until 12 December 2018. Upon entering Thailand my passport was stamped with (perimited to stay date of 11 December) Note that is 1 year from the date I entered Thailand. So yes, with a 1 year Non O-A visa, if entering before the 1 year expiration of Visa, you would get permission to stay one year. Please beware that you wanted to return after the your visa expiration date, make sure to get a re-entry permit which would be need to re-enter without problems even though you have multiple entry. At the time I requested a re-entry, the IO informed me, voluntarily, that if I was coming back to Thailand before the expiration date of my visa, I would not need a re-entry (3800 baht). The IO said it was better to get the re-entry if I was not sure I was coming back to Thailand before June 5, the expiration date of my visa. With the re-entry, my permission to stay was extended to 11 December 2019. I plan to enter again later this month (July) or early next month. Not fact, but I am trusting that I will be given permission to stay 1 year from the date I re-enter. I will know very soon. Sorry for being so long winded.

I was on a O-A non immigrant visa. Was not sure if I was going to say more than 90 days. So I did my 90 day report a few days 90 days would have occured. Reported in Bangkok first time. Only needed passport. was given a receipt of reporting which state the next reporting date.

I was in Thailand on a long stay visa O-A. I check in an out a particular hotel in Bangkok frequently because I travel to other locations, but store my baggage. When I checked in after I had been staying in that hotel in a span of 60 days, the receptionIST asked to see my arrival/departure card. Guess they needed to know if I was in overstay status. That was in March 2019. Once they saw that I could stay in Thailand until December 2019, I was not asked for Arrival/Departure card again, just passport. It can bee seen that Immigration is more aggressive about checking for Overstays, and are using all sources at their disposal. I am back in the USA now, but return to Thailand before the end of 2019.

JackThompson, Thank you very much. Even after my current monthly expenses, I should be able deposit 65000 in a Thai bank. I opened an account Thursday, 14 Mar 2019. I trust I will be able to make first deposit month and each month thereafter. Currently I possess a O-A non immigrant long stay visa, 1 year with multiple entry, issued June 8, 2018. First used to come Thailand 12 Dec 2018. Will the current visa still expire on June 7, 2019? I want to convert to retirement visa or extend O-A, 1 year visa when I return to Thailand in June, before 07, if feasible. By early June, 2019, I plan to have deposited 65000 baht in a Thai bank every month starting March 2019.
All comments and advice are truly appreciated.

I just want to know if the 65000 baht/mo is an option to the 800000 baht

Bill Smart,
