As far as i understand it, killing animals so they can be eaten comes under the category of harm. Also tobacco is a drug. You are obviously a meat eater (so am I) and you are a smoker, but you don't need to defend yourself here, we are discussing monks. If you were a Monk killing animals by proxy and were a cigarette smoker then I would question your sincerity towards the monkhood.

Exercise is allowed but showing off is not. The Five Precepts that are important are: Refrain from harming living beings (eating meat) Refrain from taking that which is not freely given Refrain from sexual misconduct Refrain from wrong speech; such as lying, idle chatter, malicious gossip or harsh speech Refrain from intoxicating drink and drugs which lead to carelessness (smoking) Cigarettes and eating meat of any kind are not allowed in teachings so these should be the areas lay people could focus on and avoid giving them in alms to the monks, the public should be educated about something they should already know.

Oh well we'll just have to go with the unskilled ones then. -
Not true, digesting cannabis has a similar effect to smoking it. Smoking it gives you an almost instant effect which does not last too long and most of it literally goes up in smoke. Digesting sativa cannabis will give you a high and may/will make you sleepy after a while. Digesting indica cannabis will help in medical areas such as easing chronic pain etc...

Also Foodland... They don't put it through the till, but make it a special cash sale so when/if the government does a check the time does not come up, only the date. They are doing this as a special favour to customers and help profits of course unless they get caught. But we should not make this "too" public as an enthusiastic man mib might catch on to a lucrative racket.

Which locals I wonder? Perhaps the most vocal granny in the Soi? The government should allow it. We need to avoid anger from tourists and participants, it would lead to tones of corruption from U know who because the party goers WILL use it no matter what!! It's not going to be any worse than drinking alcohol and in fact statistics show probably less incidents.

Is Thailand creating a Cannabis tourism empire?
JohnHans replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thailand's bid to attract quality "high quality, high spender tourists" or is it simply "high tourists"? But joking aside it's all good. Even my Niece said she might visit and she hasn't visited in 20 years because she said she hates flying. -

You are doomed because of your sarcasm, not the burger. -
I am in a similar situation, where my Pension is locked to about 800 pounds per month. "However, as this is not indexed linked, I still get GBP177.50 today because OAPs in Asia are not entitled to have their payments indexed linked at all." Philippines is on the indexed link, and if you tell the Pensions office your Philippines address you will get the increases. The Philippine seems to welcome UK pensioners with a favorable visa options.
