Big Decision: Which Asian country is ideal for foreign retirees?
JohnHans replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I never ever eat at restaurants or street vendors, as I want to eat healthy, I cook all my own food which is mainly keto, even keto bread. Even 5 star restaurant food is potentially lethal, very often containing too much salt, sugar, carbs, msg, corn flour, wheat flour, trans fats, etc. etc. Philippine food is fine as long as you buy fresh in the market and then do your own cooking, for those who say they cant cook, i feel very sorry for you as you are probably slowly killing yourself wherever you live. -
Why do so many expats fall off their balconies in Thailand?

The only thing stopping me is, I don't like that falling feeling and from a high balcony its going to be a few seconds, there again there won't be any bad memories of it!! -

Only in the new “dark red” zone, which now includes Chanthaburi, Tak, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala and Songkhla, where COVID-19 infections are still surging, the curfew from 11 pm to 3 am will remain in place, as the restriction has been lifted in Thailand’s remaining 70 provinces. No pubs and bars in Thailand can reopen at this time. This Thai government is still treating its population as though they are immature children!!! What do they think is going to happen? - that everyone will get drunk and go around having kissing orgies?!!!!

I don't think the important part is the actual overseas accounts, (as most of the accounts are probably quite legal) its the information attached to the off shore stashed cash, that information blows the lid off the corruption and ill gotten gains through corruption and illegal sources, stolen money, drug money and cheating. The information exposes names of people involved in bribes paid to politicians, corrupt business leaders and unusually rich <deleted>. I just hope it allows citizens to be able to bring down the bad apples all the way to the top, (or at least blame & shame and change pubic opinions) especially those high up on the social scale who have been spending billions of the peoples money.

Udon police arrest Swiss expat who killed armed intruder at his home
JohnHans replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
For sure the police will arrest him as they will then scare the proverbial <deleted> out of him so he has no option but to pay off the system, it happened to me before (twice) and I know the modus operandi.
