  1. Yes, I understand that but there are some that build.to honour some monks such as the giant elephant in Korat. Now both the the while temple and this giant elephant are truly spectacular pieces of architecture. The mosaics must have have taken an eternity to do. The cartoon stuff just makes it a little tacky.
  2. Along with disney, Star Wars, Marvel etc.etc. I understand that the Chinese has some cultural significance but the whole cartoon thing ruined the white temple in chiang rai ruined it for me.
  3. Sounds like you had it a bit worse than i did. Yes, almost everyone in my wife village has had it and almost all of her friends. As for the ATK, we tested as a strong positive straight away, the test line coming up before the lateral flow even making to the control line but, I also swab our throat and nose. Not just the nose, I've been told that the ATK test doesnt pick up omicron as easily unless there is a heavy viral load if you only swab the nose.
  4. There is much much more covid here than is being reported, I hear coughing and spluttering everwhere i go. Omicron symptoms in most cases are no worse than a hangover ( i can tell you from experience) symptoms are so mild that a lot of people would just think they have a mild sniffle and nothing more, they wouldnt even bother testing. Now im not suggesting that omicron is like this for everyone, I'm just saying that a lot of people wouldn't even know that they have it.
  5. I have no problem being called "farang" when the people dont know my name or who I am. I did have an issue with my wife's family calling me "farang" when they knew eaxtcly who I was. Especially when they were referring to me directly, like asking my wife if I want to eat. (Is the farang hungry?) I explained to my wife that I is the equivalent of my parents calling you "the thai girl" when they talk to me about our life. (We travel between Aus and thailand a lot) So I i think It depends on the situation and the relationship.
  6. I was in bangla last night, i can confirm it was as wet and water guns being sold everywhere. Not as busy as it was a couple of years ago but still a lot of water and a lot of people.
  7. Now no test is required before boarding a flight either, not sure if the day 5 test is even required anymore...
