That's a tourist attraction anyway, not a real temple
Yes, I understand that but there are some that build.to honour some monks such as the giant elephant in Korat. Now both the the while temple and this giant elephant are truly spectacular pieces of architecture. The mosaics must have have taken an eternity to do. The cartoon stuff just makes it a little tacky.

Along with disney, Star Wars, Marvel etc.etc. I understand that the Chinese has some cultural significance but the whole cartoon thing ruined the white temple in chiang rai ruined it for me.

Sounds like you had it a bit worse than i did. Yes, almost everyone in my wife village has had it and almost all of her friends. As for the ATK, we tested as a strong positive straight away, the test line coming up before the lateral flow even making to the control line but, I also swab our throat and nose. Not just the nose, I've been told that the ATK test doesnt pick up omicron as easily unless there is a heavy viral load if you only swab the nose.

There is much much more covid here than is being reported, I hear coughing and spluttering everwhere i go. Omicron symptoms in most cases are no worse than a hangover ( i can tell you from experience) symptoms are so mild that a lot of people would just think they have a mild sniffle and nothing more, they wouldnt even bother testing.
Now im not suggesting that omicron is like this for everyone, I'm just saying that a lot of people wouldn't even know that they have it.

I have no problem being called "farang" when the people dont know my name or who I am. I did have an issue with my wife's family calling me "farang" when they knew eaxtcly who I was. Especially when they were referring to me directly, like asking my wife if I want to eat. (Is the farang hungry?)
I explained to my wife that I is the equivalent of my parents calling you "the thai girl" when they talk to me about our life. (We travel between Aus and thailand a lot)
So I i think It depends on the situation and the relationship.

I was in bangla last night, i can confirm it was as wet and water guns being sold everywhere. Not as busy as it was a couple of years ago but still a lot of water and a lot of people.

Now no test is required before boarding a flight either, not sure if the day 5 test is even required anymore...

NKT or genuine are going to be the same, price wise seems about right, I'd actually expected them to be more expansive than that. You can pay aeound $30 each retail in Aus

An instagram influencer model is really a nice way of describing a unemployed self entitled snow flake millennial.shes messed with her passport and we all know what happens but this new breed seem to think they are above everyone else..what's the betting she didn't have a work permit too.
Took the words right out of my mouth.. the term "term social media influencers" makes my eye twitch.

Honestly, I'm so <deleted> bored with this TM.30 nonsense. I just dont even bother anymore, I'll just pay the fine, no standardisation, I'm happy to comply but it need to be simple and consistent. No for now, as I travel twice a week. I'll just pay the fine if and when required.

Big Deal , its so far away we could never get there ,they could never get here ,so what does all this waste of our taxes achieve for you and me?
At a point in time, people knew of Thailand but getting there was not viable due to travel times and distance. Now you have the opportunity to live here and return home for holidays. Everything is relative to it's current point in time, without progress we would all still be living in the trees.

Indeed, it says popular nightspot, but it’s a dump in a dump of a Soi . Not only patron was armed but the guards as well.
Yeah, I know the soi well, a friend d of mine is a manger of a small hotel that is almost in the picture. It's a tiny bar that's only attended by Thais in very small numbers.

Farang be ware - the wife is about to pawn the house !
My wife's mother has already been doing it against vacant land, far too easy to borrow large sums of money.

I've seen some old ID cards... older ones dont have a day and month on them typically because the parents had to go to amphur to register the birth and no other records are available... in addition to this, my wife's old ID card had her name spelled incorrectly... now I'm not saying hes not 128... I'm just saying that maybe more than a thai ID card may be required to verify his age ????

Lord help us all if it's just the same pathetic tests they make you do when you go to get your drivers lisence. How about start with your lisencing system, and then go from there first.

I dont get why everyone kicks up a fuss, it's just another law that will be forgotten about and ignored... you can still smoke in restaurants and bars and no one says a word, staff will happily give you an ashtray.

Perhaps they could bring Chiang Mai into the fold and stop enforcing midnight closing. Extend it out til 2am to be in line with the rest of Thailand.
Yes ,I found this extremely irritating while travelling in chaing mai.. all the best spots close insanely early, then they huddle everyone into dangerously overcrowded "after parties" in sure none of the vendors would mind if Zoe in yellow was allowed to stay open a while later.

Because this statement alone reflects a common sense business approach that requires forward planning, and conservation. A skill that at times is severely lacking in the land of smiles.
