I am not trying to downplay the situation but the numbers outside of Samut Sakhon seem to be stable meaning and relatively low.

That is what we were thinking in Europe too ...

Huh ? after the great Thai ripoff of all those cheated foreigners and abused tourists (scams) ... I think they have had enough benefits ... 

If you can tell me that they we need to be nice AFTER they put a 70-year old Aussie in IDC Bangkok (recently) because the Thai wife and family refused to take care of him  AFTER he had taken care of them for 30 years ... gratitude and respect is absent .... 

Why not launch an air bridge and drop tons of money on Thailand ? 

Not because of the 300 THB but because of COVID and the great economic slowdown ... international tourism is finished - sadly ... 

So what difference does it make Thailand will collect 3.000 / a year ... with this scheme ... 

It is hard to say goodbye to a nice past in which money rolled in and you could abuse foreigners at will ... 

Did you know all farang stink ? The Chinese caused the ferries to sink ? Burmese are the cause of Covid19 ? 

Xenophobic rants and racist attitudes will not help ... to attract tourists and FINING visitors is "insane" and "stupid" ...

I just informed World Assistance of this weird local practice and they are astounded ...

Probably on their way to phone Government House ...

What I fail to completely understand is this :

on day 1 you test negative (WHO advisory - test) in your home country

on day 3 you test negative (??? - test) in Thailand on arrival

on day 6 you test POSITIVE (??? - test) in Thailand in the ASQ (quarantine) hotel

Now from a viewpoint of infectious diseases this is a weird one ...

THE ONLY PLACE I COULD GET INFECTED IS THAILAND. 

So I need to insure myself to protect Thai society (covering hospital costs for a COVID-19 infection) while I get infected in Thailand.

It is a new dimension in "making money" ... my suggestion is NEVER EVER GO TO AMAZING TRUSTED THAILAND ...

Greed, cheapness, hate, racism and money grabbing ... 

I want a defamation sandwich as the ultimate crime against humanity ... 

Maybe it is me , but what with Europe Asisstance , wordwide coverage ? 

Is it no longer valid in Thailand ?

Do foreigners visiting actually have the freedom of choice or are they forced to use a Thai company ?

There are international agreements in place so ... now we have to be double or triple insured ? 

Does anybody know how I can get my luggage from Bangkok to Belgium ? 

It is stored at IDC Bangkok  ... 3 suitcases, 1 attache case and one bag of clothes.

I was only 17 days overstay ... I was stolen from 5.000.000THB ... even Thai people spoke to me and said that the people who extorted the money would never do anything in return ... except getting rid of me ... I spend 3 months and 10 days inside IDC Bangkok ... 

In 2016 I was send back to Belgium, in Europe and still today I am homeless and without any help.

Everybody says sorry but nobody so far has done anything for me ...

The worst part of this story is that my grandfather was Thai and legally I am Thai ... just have a very white skin ...

I have been begging for compassion ... from Thai people ... but nothing happens ...

Soon this female writer and teacher will die ... wondering where all the good people have gone ...

I am the writer of this book ... as you can see ... a real book ... for 4 years in Belgium and Thailand people said I was a crazy woman imagining writing books ... what do I have in my hand ... ? 

I am not a troll, I do not like people shouting at me or treating me even more badly ... also online ...

Please be kind to me and if you want to make a joke out of this .... remember that for me, a single woman, that book is like my child.

I do not understand Thai thinking ... how can you call a female writer who sings songs of praise about Thailand a "bad GUY" ? 
How do you do that ?
