This depends if the comparison is with places such as Italy and New York, or with other countries regionally. The best pizza I ever had was some very inexpensive street pizza, topped with the freshest tomatoes imaginable, near the train station in Naples. But as long as we're not making unrealistic comparisons, Thailand can certainly hold it's head up in Southeast Asia. Standards in Pattaya are largely driven by those in Bangkok, where there are many excellent expat chefs who pride themselves on importing the right ingredients.

Alright, since we are gonna be diplomatic about it, I'll admit I might have a tendency to make unrealistic comparisons regarding food... and I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to cuisine.

I've had fabulous pizza in Chicago and NYC but my fav was in Boston (Reginas), until I got to Italy...

I was disappointed twice in CM with pizza and gave up looking.

Next time I'm in BKK I'll take a look, thanks.

    Shouldn't worry, there are many.

While there are many, the OP is looking for good ones, which narrows it down considerably.

    To close to zero.

Why would an American wear the Maple leaf?

So you do not understand that Canadians are also Americans? They live in North America. Argentinians are also Americans, they live in South America.

    Get it yet?

Let me guess: you are from the USA, so you think the world revolves around you. Either you haven't travelled much, or you don't interact much with others when you do, is my guess based on your words.

    Everybody likes Canadians.

Does everybody like those from the USA? Not so much. The response is radically different, in fact, depending upon which country you say you are from.

I happen to be from both countries, but long ago I started wearing only the maple leaf, to avoid unpleasant political conversations, arguments, accusations, and worse.

    Try it. You'll be amazed.

  4. Well, 6 years and not much substance here.

The best pizza is to be found in Italy.

Do you go to Italy seeking Thai food?

Try the Thai food when in Thailand. They really do it justice. Seeking good pizza in Asia is 'counter-intuitive' at best...

  5. CM Immigration is in top form these days: back near the airport via the 20 baht big bus, walking distance to Airport Plaza, photocopy and visa pic services on site for cheap, and freindly enough very professional staff.

I just got through there so fast, the mall wasn't even open yet and I had to go find breakfast elsewhere, I arrived at 7:30 and by 9:30 I was done.

Maybe they expedite me. I do dress up for the occasion. They are really way into that respect thing, I've noticed...

You don’t need an ED visa to study; you can attend classes with any type of visa.

While true, it's irrelevant to the point this thread.

Perhaps there isn't age limit nationally, but I've noticed some schools have age limits for enrollment.

Do the math tho. Add up how much you will spend total on a ED Visa and compare that to costs of just leaving the country and getting TVs. It's as cheap to travel and you may tire quickly of 4 day a week mandatory attendance in one location, unless you love the subject.

The one that caught my eye was Chiang Mai self defense course. Both because it is an actual lifelong useful skill and it only meets weekends.

But then the crop burning season started and I realized that I wouldn't live year round in the north even if they let me...

Does anyone know why you can go and buy booze in a 7 Eleven in the early hours of the morning, but not 2 till 5pm?

That's area dependent. Some have different hours and some have no hours.

I've heard it's to prevent alcohol related issues in the peak heat of the day.

download a free pdf to word app. open up an old pdf ticket and convert it. create a new ticket of your own using legit flight numbers and times etc. Print it. problem solved. done this many times

So, your advice is to commit premeditated fraud at an international border? That's one of the dumbest, unnecessary risks I've heard of.

    Pa-thetic.

Someone on another thread posted this site

    https://onwardticket.com

You buy a true reservation for 48hrs, for 12dollars. You do not pay for the flight, and the reservation cancels itself after 48hrs.

Sure, you can pay someone else to buy you a refundable ticket.

Or you can buy it one for free yourself and have complete control over the process.

Have you considered that buying a ticket from a third party with zero intent of using it is unlawful and damn easy to prove given the digital trail?

You could get a low cost one way ticket to any nearby country from any airport here to meet the requirement.

It's a great opportunity to see Malaysia for dirt-cheap on AirAsia, my first "burner" ticket I ended up using and loved it. Cheaper to fly to Kuala Lumpur than to extend for 30 days in Thailand.

And zero cost for 90 days no visa needed open-arms scene in Malaysia...

But I no longer see the point in buying burners merely to prove onward travel, with Expedia offering 24 hour free cancellation on many flights, why spend any more than you have to?

For me, the breaking point was when a bottle of Australian fruit wine cost more than a bottle of genuine Scotch whiskey! I swore i would never buy a bottle of wine in Thailand again........

    I concur, why bother?

Wine is like steak in Thailand, way too much money and mostly poor quality.

On rare occasion I just buy a cheapo wine cooler for 25 baht, but yeah, I will save my wine money for back home: a nice 120 baht bottle of Organic Red at Trader Joe's...

That's really a good post. And should be read twice by all the people into corks.

That's a lot of people given that natural corks remain the leader of corkages worldwide.

You plastic cork-loving people remain in the minority, where you belong.

That post you love so much doesn't address the toxins getting into the wine via the plastics tho... ????

That was basically my contention that one can find a decent wine here (500 baht - 429) for a couple of hundred baht more than the West.

Bro have you even been back to the West since like 1963?

You heard of 2 buck chuck?

You ever walk into a Trader Joe's or a Safeway and gaze at the lines of wine for under 150 baht?
