Thai plans to kick off tourism in a couple of months will not get very far if there are no nightspots. The industry will definitely need support or the infrastructure will be gone.

A little unrelated...
But why is ok to use free weights and not the machines ? Is the virus picky about where it sits ?
By 'weight trining' only, may have meant the 'gym' and not other activities that fitness centers offer, like yoga, dance, aerobics n stuff.

Weird. The official stats on the Department of disease control show 7 new cases on 15th May.
Google shows 7 new cases on the 15th May.
Bangkok Post shows 7 new cases on 15th May.
Reporting the new stats for Saturday 16th when there are still 18 hours to go seems a bit premature. Then again if you don't test anyone you won't have any new cases yipee!& cases yesterday at 4pm, the reporting time.

Go to a police station, report the 90-dau notification slip as lost, then take the police report to immigration. Then they will process your 90-day. They don't actually need any information from the piece of paper and TBH, I have no idea why they insist on us bringing it to immigration when all the info they need is in your passport and on their computer.

Our local Home Prosell a limited range of PC stuff left single customers in by appointment. There is a desk in the carpark where you can arrange a visit.

Great! I wonder if they will consult with a native English speaker so that the ENG-interface is a positive experience. So many (all?) government apps I have needed to use so far have required some guess-work on the part of the user.

It seems to me that you will be battling their pride and for that, they will dig their heels in.
After reading your rant, you know, the one where you bemoan people who do not follow the rules, regulations, guidelines, I wonder about just how much conflict you regularly stagger into.
I am just glad you don't live near us.
Good luck.

Has Thailand even reported TOTAL new cases of 60+ nationwide in the past two weeks?
Apart from here saying in this article there were 60 CV cases just from one Songkhla detention facility alone in the past two weeks....
Yes, there were 151 cases reported in the previous 14 days. In my graph (pdf file) the spike on 25 April was due to migrants in Sonkla. All stopped by immigration and still in quarantine.

I have been working as a chemistry teacher for 16 years. I have a Bachelors (honors), a Ph.D., and a post grad diploma in education from a Thai university. When I turned 60, the Thai university informed me of my impending retirement. Despite all my best efforts, when my contract ended 8 months later, the University did not renew my contract. I received a reasonable compensation given the years worked. The University's school continued to hire me. Overall, I have 50% of my former salary.
The schools contract says I will undergo 'mental assessment' each year before being issued a new contract.
I applied for many teaching jobs around BKK during the past 12 months, but as soon as they learn my age, the dialog stops.
Teaching online is an uphill struggle, I have prepared well except that I have not yet had a single student.
I do a little editing through online agencies like Wallis Editing and Edanz. The pay is not great but the work is fairly continuous.
One surprisingly negative aspect is the response from co-workers, there are two who feel they have an axe to grind. They are running a passive-aggressive campaign bad mouthing the idea of working with 'retired' teachers. I feel highly vulnerable in my present situation, and their behavior gives me significant anxiety.
There is a lot more sympathy from those in their late 50s.
My best advice is to prepare by saving, learning new skills, and looking for several income sources for the future.
Good luck

Give it time, now that the alcohol ban has been lifted and mostly Thai's, and some others getting closer together and not adhering to social distancing rules IMO.
????
Both sides form groups and both sides have those who forget about distancing. But, there are a lot more Thais over here than there are Falang, so yes it is mostly Thais.

Check again, not all pools are chlorinated, is your statement true for non chlorinated pools?
Regardless, the dilution factor is huge.

I am going to avoid the Sunday rush and go Monday - but remember - Visakha Bucha Day is on Wednesday - May 6th, so there will be no alcohol sold. Hopefully you all have not emptied the stocks completely. If so, at least it will be the older stuff - provided they rotate the old/new stocks.
1.5 million alcohol-related deaths per year in Thailand alone. Why not take the opportunity to take a day off the sauce? Your choice, but your advice is insane.

I am for some time a member of this forum, it's a good place to get informed,
but I wonder time and again why so many useless and stupid comments to topics come from the top posters in this forum,
sometimes it would be better not to post such nonsense at all.......
It is in forums worldwide. Opinionated haters that have not a respectful word for anyone with any authority. They post all the time, which is why they are credited with so many comments.

Agreed, in the four condos I lived in, there were never more than 2-3 couples in the (large) pool at a time.

Yes, they offered the lamb (their old people) to the virus. Guess they did not put the same value on them as the rest of the world. Something I will never forgive them for.
Agree 100 percent. Sweden, with nearly 20 k infections and 1600 deaths, 135 of which were just yesterday.

It is no mere coincidence that countries with the highest infection/death rates are those where restrictions are being eased. Their respective populations are well on the way to achieving herd immunity from the virus.
Thailand's incredibly low confirmed cases and deaths may appear to vindicate the administration's draconian measures. But they almost certainly mean only a small percentage of people are immune.
Unless by some miracle the virus dies out before schools are reopened, many students are likely become asymptomatic carriers and pose a serious threat to any elderly relatives in their household.
It is not yet clear that immunity is a thing. This is something The Who have been reminding us. For example, we do not develop immunity to HIV.

Just read that the centre of covid19 admin are recommending the state of emergency be extended 'til the end of May. Anutin also couldn't wait til the 12.30 announcement and told reporters that the numbers of cases today are in single digits.
Seems to me that the numbers being given to the public make for nice reading, but the government know they aren't reflective of what's really going on.
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries
Only nine cases today, though I saw another report of 24. I have been collecting data each day from the website above. I believe this is the same source used by the Nation newspaper. The increase on 25 April is from a group of Thais returning from Myanmar. They were put in quarantine upon entering and 42 of them tested positive. Without tis group, the daily new infections would have been 11, in accord with the general downward trend.
Should not be too cynical about this data, every country is doing it. Thailand is without a doubt doing better than many other countries.

Waiting one more week and giving establishments time to prepare makes sense, but I'm really hoping for the lifting of restrictions come May 1st I'm talking about every province too including Bangkok, Chon Buri, Phuket and Chiang Mai.
Last thing we want is a resurgence. In the 1818 Spanish flu, more people died in the second wave than in the first.
I would rather be in the hands of a cautious government than one being led by an imbecile.

There was another news report of transmission via corpse. Looks like it is a thing.

This is why there is 14 days compulsory quarantine upon entry to the country.
