I'm returning to Thailand soon with my Thai wife for  5 months. Despite a letter from a company I own guaranteeing $100,000 Covid coverage, we are being required to purchase a Thai insurance policy for this. The only price I've found so far is 20,000 THB from Luma. A total waste of money better spent employing people in our Isaan village.

I've tried to find a comparison of policies and costs, to no avail. Apparently there are 16 approved Thai insurance companies.

I'm a retired building contractor from USA, marrying a Thai woman from Surin, Isaan. I plan to build a home on the family land near Rattanaburi, and need to familiarize myself with how this is done in that area.

Surin City is our best nearby building materials location, with HomePro and Thai Watsadu outlets, as well as SCG. But we're a long way from Bangkok, so choices seem limited. I plan to use a pre-cut steel frame, AAC concrete exterior wall panels, and in general try to not have any wood where subterranean termites can get at it. 

I'm looking for a supplier for sprayed polyurethane foam wall and ceiling insulation near Surin City.

I'd like to share construction notes with anyone in this area.

I will be building a house on my Thai wife's family land in Surin Province, near Rattanaburi. I plan to make my first task the drilling of a deep well to get a reliable supply of clean water.

It is my understanding that you need to go something like 100 meters down to achieve this. 

Has anyone in this forum done this?

I have my first year retirement visa, and will need to renew in January 2020. I will be in Rattanaburi, Surin, about an hour from Surin City, but 6 hours from Bangkok. 

I'll be building a house on my Thai wife's land near Rattanaburi, and prefer to spend as little time in Bangkok as possible, due to the nasty air pollution these days.

I have my Bangkok Bank account with the requisite money on deposit. I'm having trouble determining if and where I can renew my visa in Surin Province.
