I'm confused... How did the Thai's ruin Pattaya? I thought Pattaya was a farang enclave.
First visit to Pattaya in 1977 and again in '78. Beach was wider then but cr@p gritty sand. No tourists then, not even Thai. Mass unrestricted tourism has ruined the place.
Have lived happily on the Darkside for 15 years but use Hat Nam Ram in Sattahip for beach outings.

I think the coffee from anniecoffeeroaster on Lazada is great. I used to order from artis coffee Bangkok but switched to this.
I find bon cafe and doi chang really rough and strong.
If I had to choose from supermarket then it would be lavazza gold tin Oro.
I swear by Doi Chang via Lazada. Really strong go for French #5 roast. Vienna #4 slightly milder. All 100% Arabica in both bean and ground.
Note : Pre-ground is fine for espresso machine or filter but not great in French press.

Have always used and recommended Burda Tailor on Pattaya Tai. About 50m down from Friendship supermarket on the opposite side.
Excellent quality, service, and price.

I have been trying to register for a Pfizer booster in Pattaya for the last month with no success. Yesterday, while in Queen Sirikit Sattahip for a routine check up, I asked about booster registration. They sent me up to the 3rd floor where 10 minutes later the needle was in my arm, free of charge, all smiles etc.
It seems to me that the Pattaya hospitals "just maybe" trying to push their Moderna stocks into "rich" expat arms.

Basmati is best for diabetics as it has a much lower glyceamic index. If I eat Thai rice I'm asleep inside 45 minutes.
Better for the dog also

yes, the closest i have found is a oven thermometer. As i'm new to cooking i still like to use a meat prob to verify if i have cooked the chicken/steak/etc to the correct internal temperature.
Check out Friendship. If they haven't got one upstairs they should have at their "pro" store across the carpark.

I signed up about 6 weeks ago. Received various apologies about delays and then an offer of AZ if I wished to travel to Bangkok. I am 68, diabetic, and live in Pattaya so I ignored the offer. Last night was pleasantly surprised to be given an appointment for Pfizer for tomorrow (monday) at Central Festival Pattaya.
Happy happy. ????????????

Registered at QS on tuesday. No date given for jab as told no vaccines available and they didn't know when. Some of my Thai friends living next door to QS told the same.
Suspect all Sattahip vaccines have gone to Navy base.
Will wait patiently for phone call.

I'm surprised nobody has yet twigged the 400k extension requirement is remarkably similar to the stated minimum health insurance now required for the o-a visa. Make any sense now ?

HSBC using intermediate bank to transfer
in Bangkok
Posted
I transfer partial pension from HSBC UK on a monthly basis direct to SCB. Sent in £ direct via SWIFT. £5 UK transaction fee. SCB this end convert to THB at 1½% + THB200 receipt fee. Always virtually instant transaction (fastest was 17 minutes) until about 4/5 years ago when changed to overnight. Never had any problems.
