I posted this on another 'Certificate of Residency ' thread yesterday.

For your address change question, make sure the 'C of R' has the correct new address. The validity of the licence will stay the same, and there will be a change charge.  At this time because of covit shutdown, they are running 2-3 months behind for new licences, so even though you do not need to do the video/tests, you may still have to wait for them to process the new licence so be prepared for that.

PS: I went yesterday with my extension application, and my appointment is at the end of October.

I WILL POST THE LISTS OF DOCUMENTS NEEDED FOR ABOVE:

    1) Certificate of Residence

    -Passport

    -2 pix

-Passport copies of Face page, Visa/Extension page, last entry stamp

-Address proof (I used Yellow Housebook)

-Complete the application form (obtained from front desk)

-300 baht, and wait approx 45 minutes

    2) Drivers Licence application for extension or new licence

    -Passport

-Signed copies of Face page, Visa/extension page,

    last entry stamp, TM6 entry

    -Residence Certificate from Immigration

-Copy of current licence (both sides)

-A few papers to sign and write telephone nbr

    Hope this helps you.

On point 2 - i was told a Fit to drive Certificate from doctor is required- is that correct?

    thanks

  2. Taiwan i can understand.

however US? One of the country with highest death/ infected number, china ... (we all know too many stories there)

EU - Russia, UK, Spain are all up there with numbers..

I definitely want help for the hotel sector however as to who to allow in i hope PM will evaluate again.

if uk, Spain are unable to control their citizens in their countries what makes us think they will listen here?

china had to impose Marshall law to control the people to prevent further spread, can they really observe the authorities stated law when they are here??

  3. The only reason why the cases are almost 0 at these places is becauae doors are still closed to int’l tourists.
Vietnam, Philippines, china, spain, uk are all seeing an increased in cases - is it safe to open the  floodgates ??? Does it make sense ?

Or perhaps you should review in 2 -3,months take this time to re educate social distancing, hygiene and to see if the cases in ASEAN region, EU drops.

Seems Brit crooks are as bad as Thai crooks. I am sure I wont get many likes for this one.

I wish t here were some tough laws for this to protect buyers. I don't mean it has to applied to foreigners only but to everyone giving better protection to buyers.

But I think it would be hard as the people doing such things are usually rich or have al ot of cash from cheating their clients enough to bribe a lot of people.

    You are si right .

if the thai gov can or well start with the basic of penalising these rich thai home owners in ripping people off electricity and water charges - that will be a baby step to start with...then they can eventually get around these tax evaders in thailand.
It is simple you reside in the country, you respect their law.
unfortunately even the rich thais don't do that.

  5. 1. It is so obvious the thrash washed up to the shore.

    2. like many places on any island in thailand one can be paying for their thrash to be picked up but the trash company will find all reasons not to pick up your thrash (while we are still paying) - how do you fix this??

remember, philippines is facing the same issue they closed Boracay for 6 months the rubbish were killing the marine lives.

  6. I don’t expect any Thais to speak English however there is a polite way to tell tourists how much an item is example : tapping on the calculator.
Rather then telling us off. Many market stall holders can be rude that way. In addition, not everyone who looks Asian and has tanned looking skin are Thais - so don’t get offended if we do not answer you in THAI.
