I have been told that the Chinese are much more desirable due to their manners, etiquette, and high spending ways.

If you are going to shovel money out the window, which you are, give it to the Pattaya Orphanage or some other worthy cause.

Just to close out the topic, should anyone care. I got a 60 day tourist visa in Cambodia and returned through Savarnabhumi today. Minimal issues upon entry, did not have to show onward ticket or cash, go figure. Anyway, thanks for your input guys. And before you get started, all ye trolls, yes I did learn something here so there is no need for slagging.

They don't care about the Thais they are hurting with this policy, since Thais are not subject to extortion-schemes by immigration. All they care about is their corruption-money.
Yes, they get to fill up empty seats at premium prices. The question is, are the airline-agents sharing commissions on these last-minute priced tickets with immigration?
I do not know if the airline personnel work on commission, but if they do, I would be very surprised if an "arrangement" were not being made - creating an "extra" source of income for immigration which would not as easily show up in the newspapers as shaking-down tourists directly (has, in the past).
You are quite right on the premium price ticket. I paid 5000 Baht for a one way to Phnom Penh.

Thank you for posting your bad experience. This happens a lot now.
There is no law that prevented you entry. You were unlucky. Those of us who read this sub forum regularly know this. Others are here to giggle, to cheer themselves up seeing fellow Thailand traveler suffer, don't mind them, that's how it is here. They are all on retirement extension, safely, as long as your troubles and theirs are dissimilar, they are happy.
Get a new passport, try not to have more than 2, maximum 3 visa wave entries. Get as many TR visas in region as you can, if possible, travel home and get Multiple Entry tourist visa.
Thanks partner, some good points and advice in your post. As far as some others, well it is the internet age, trolling has become the norm for people with nothing better to do.

I'm not sure the letter of the law in Thailand allows for an unlimited number of border runs to renew a tourist visa. That is not what a tourist visa is for. What you are doing seems to be using a tourist visa for a permanent residency visa and I doubt that is legal.
I am not a permanent resident and the "letter of law" is not well defined at all. But, my mistake, and now I know.

Multiple entries on Visa exempt, not a tourist, refused for abusing system,
You think Canadian IO would allow foreign nationals to abuse your system as you have done in Thailand?
At 59 one would expect a little more common sense
In fact, Canada welcomes visitors who obey local laws and spend a lot of money, as I do in Thailand. I am sure it is the same in your country.

DM is the worst AP to arrive or depart. I have been in and out of Vietnam and I fly the Vietnam budget air line Vietien, which is good departs and arrives at Suvarnabum.
Agree 100%, only problem was the only direct flight I could get to Danang and back was through DMK. I will not make the same mistake again. Regards.

First of all, thanks for your report. Sorry to hear that you had to go through that.
Did they ask you any meaningful questions, such as what you are doing in Thailand, where you are staying, proof of accommodation / money / outbound ticket? Or just processed you for denial without going through the motions of a proper secondary inspection?
How was it decided that you flew to Phnom Penh instead of back to Vietnam, was that your idea or the airline's?
Now that you ask, the less than pleasant woman IO asked me "what are you doing, do you have ticket, do you have money, you in out, in out too much" all of which she never gave me a chance to answer and gave my passport a bit of a toss across the desk saying you no good. If anyone thinks that I am out of line for saying she is a <deleted>, I do not care and I can not help you.
The reason I went to Phnom Penh was I told them that I had a single entry visa for Vietnam, which was now used, and they would not let me back in to the country if I went back. While I am at it, the Air Asia people were very reasonable through the whole affair, I can not say anything against them at all.

he said, " In Phnom Penh now working on a tourist visa ",
to me that means he is WORKING< NOT LOOKING for work
nothing about looking for a job as its quite easy to get an EG extension, ( valid for up to 6 months) while your looking for work>>>
Again, thank you for the clarification that I never dreamed would be needed.

Why didn't you get a tourist visa? Do you think Thailand wants everyone to enter for free?
Had a friend who was denied recently who has been running on tourist visas for a while, so that one is not foolproof either.

You explained in your thread why you got evicted at Mr Don airport.
You can't fly in and out on 30 day stamps without eventually being stopped.
I lived here for years on 30_day visa runs same as 10,000's of foreigners.
Those days are over.
Also avoid female officers. A male officer might have let you in with a polite warning.
Pattaya sex tourists aren't flavour of the month with females.
I lined up on a male officer for that very reason, but the secondary station was nothing but female. They were not all bad, but the one in charge was vile at best.

When he stated "now working on a tourist visa", he did not mean he was working a job while on a tourist visa. He meant that he is attempting to obtain (working on) a tourist visa.
Did not think that needed clarification, but thank you.

You were in out on VOA stamps, and yet you said that you stayed 7 - 8 months in Pattaya.
In the eyes of the Immigration, you are NO tourist but trying to stay in Thailand long term and abusing the tourist visa-on-arrival/visa exempt system.
Consider getting a Tourist Visa, then you can stay 6 months ( 2+1 and again 2+1). Then stay somewhere else before come back as a tourist.
Or find a volunteer job, work a few hours in the week there, and get a non O visa, 90x4 days for a year. And then, you are no tourist and can have all the fun in Pattaya.
Or get a Elite Visa, freedom at all.
Rgds,
Only posting as an FYI so others don't make the same mistake I did. A bit in my defense, I have never been told by immigration, nor have I ever read anywhere, exactly what we can and can not do with VOA's. And to save you a couple of key strokes, yes I am guilty of not doing enough homework on the subject.

Thanks I'm Canadian too and was also denied at Don Muang (first tourist visa ever)... I will go to Vietnam soon and I know canadian have to apply 3 days in advance for the visa. Now I'm too scared to come back via the airport even with marriage visa. I plan to do a long detour via Cambodia and also avoid Poipet/Ayutthaya when coming back.
Why were you denied?

I had been popping in and out on the 30 day airport stamp for the last 2 years spending 7-8 months of the year in Pattaya. Came in the other day to Don Mueang from Vietnam and got kicked out. It would have been my 5th time in on the 30 day bit within the last 365 days. The woman immigration officer I had to deal with lends a whole new definition to a dirty word used to describe female anatomy. She was the least pleasant person I have met in quite some time. I am starting to hear this from others as well. So, I do not recommend Don Mueang if you have any doubts whatsoever.
