  1. A week ago she said many had mild symptoms but others where coming in complaining of crushing fatigue and others were presenting with severely elevated heart rates. Now she is saying they all only had mild symptoms.
  2. World population was 1.7 billion and estimated deaths of between 17 to 50 million
  3. That is 230 cases in a week now for Samui. A fairly significant number given the size of the population. Where I live we only have 200 cases a day in a population of 8 million with 93% of adult population fully vaccinated only the unvaccinated are restricted in their activities.
  4. I believe it’s less to do with heat but more to do with humidity level. The virus suspends itself in the air by attaching to water vapor droplets. The higher the humidity the larger the water droplets and the wicker they fall. There has been a lot of research done in this area. I work in a private hospital and when we had Covid patients several months ago we put humidifiers in the rooms and common areas were the Covid patients were to reduce the chances of airborne transmission. The northern winters can produce very cold dry air in which the virus can remain suspended for up to I believe 20 times longer than a relatively humid environment. The tendency to congregate more indoors in confined environments in winter probably contributes to spread also.
  5. So i guess you mean the Right don't just display ideology they actually just slaughter people who don't conform. Do you consider slaughtering people satisfactory behavior ?
  6. Still to many unknowns and hoops to jump for most at the moment. I'm sitting on the fence watching. Yesterday work announced if we go overseas we can not return to work until day 8 of return. Must test day 1 and day 7 if negative can return to work.
  7. Probably a group coming in on a private charter. I doubt a commercial airline will carry you if you are positive ?
  8. Considering the cost of freight worldwide has exploded up to ten fold in the past 12 months you might be looking at a pretty penny to ship now.
  9. In Australia if you have enough savings to give you an income of 25k a year its unlikely you would receive the full pension. Once your income exceeds about $150 a week you pension starts getting reduced at 25k per annum income you would likely receive less than 50% of the pension
  10. Its diversified. Stocks, Equities, Property and Cash being the main vehicles
  11. Someone on another forum said the site works best in Crome than other browsers
  12. Wow what an astonishing number. The streets of Chewang must be pumping.
  13. My super fund averages 9.8% over a ten year period. Last year saw return of 18.3%.
  14. Still cheaper for a whole carton then Australia were it’s 750B for a single pack of 20
  15. I use a 4.4kw portable air conditioner in my unit in Sydney. It easily keeps the 50sqm living area cool on the hottest of days and has no problem getting down to 20degC. Obviously is ducted outside through a window kit.
  16. The landlord wants to kick him out to make more money and you think he is going to give him compensation ????
  17. Cardboard bed factory is scaling up production
  18. Two things you can do really. Stand your ground and refuse to leave till the contract is over or leave.
  19. With their insistence on maintaining a zero Covid policy and a 21 day quarantine for return travelers. It will be well after 2022 before there is any significant Chinese tourism inbound or outbound. My bet is on 2025 before they relax any restrictions. They are well aware that their vaccines are not on par with what is available in the west, leaving them in a vulnerable position if they open their borders.
  20. I doubt there are many regulations and if there is, likely little enforcement. I have seen enough food handling and storage practices in Thailand that would probably give a western food safety inspector a heart attack. Have personally had several bouts of food poisoning in Thailand.
  21. And all the lovely electrical distribution boxes blocking the footpaths. I never used to mind the overhead wires. Still sadly looks like a ghost town albeit a slightly cleaner one. I hope they don’t get their hopes too high that masses are just going to return overnight. I would not be surprised if 70% of the businesses are closed permanently due to no capital left to resume operations. it’s likely to be a long road to full recovery. Hoping I can return in March.
  22. 35 years residency for full portability. Need to remain in country for first 2 years
