Why herd immunity could be an impossible goal for Thailand
Swimfan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Uk vaccination rates are at 67% still really an inadequate level it’s surprising given their early start. -
You can claim rental assistance on top of the pension as a separate supplement. I believe it’s about an additional $65 a week
-
It’s about 45k Baht a month for full singles pension you get some additional supplements if living in the country. You have to remain in the country for the first 2 years of the pension after that it is full portable depending on how many years you worked for. 37 years gives you the full amount out of country. Anything less is paid prorata if you only worked for 25 years then you would only get 25/37 out of country.

Thailand reports declining COVID-19 cases for the 4th consecutive day
Swimfan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I think the best indicator that something is amiss is that the deaths started falling around the same time that the infection rate started to recede. The general consensus is that deaths lag infection by approximately 21 days so in theory the death rate should still be rising slightly rather than having made a significant drop. -

Not really accurate 200k results came through. They explicitly stated that 60k were overdue negative result notifications. They have now removed some testing criteria for essential workers to reduce the pressure and turn around time for results. I would say the max they can do effectively is about 120k still good as mostly for the metro population of 5 million

Thailand reports 19,983 new COVID-19 cases, 138 deaths
Swimfan replied to Jonathan Fairfield's topic in Thailand News
They would need approximately 17 million doses a month. At best they are getting 5 million AZ a month if they are lucky. Where are the other 12 million going to come from. They won’t be getting any significant amounts of Pfizer this year. So 12m dose of Sinovac? Im not saying the vaccination numbers are overstated. But I have my doubts they have the resources to and products to do some of the daily number of jabs we are seeing. No evidence just my gut talking. -
Most of your positive sides are really moot with delta. we all know now that you can catch it just walking past an infected person. Nobody is talking about touch and surface transmission anymore that is last year’s issues. Maybe not as large a population but density is a bigger factor and Thailand has a far greater density than the USA and many other countries with significant outbreaks and death tolls. The majority of people vaccinated have been given vaccines that are significantly less effective as the majority of vaccines used by other nations.
