Please show recent proof that Emirates are cancelling flights. There are no recent reports of this. Qatar and Etihad are now also flying, please stop posting scaremongering hearsay information.
I’m not trying to scaremonger my flight from Birmingham to Bangkok on the 12 October was cancelled.
rebooked for 25th October the next available date at the time.
Its now I can arrange the hotels Medical etc.

Go on the Thai Embassy London website and you will see that there are six airlines with permission to fly to Bangkok and all are doing so.
Thanks very much but for example Emirates show flights back to Thailand from UK but they keep cancelling.
I’m happy to try and get a COE but was just concerned commercial flights will actually go back and then I will allowed in with the COE
I am also not sure how this update fits with the Chinese charter flights into Phuket with a special visa.
My apologies if I’m missing something basic it just doesn’t seem that clear to me.

I am slightly confused. I have an O-A visa with Re-entry stamp, and I am back in UK, but trying to return to Thailand ASAP.
If I apply for COE and get it, I am still unsure whether there are currently any flights going to Thailand from the UK, and whether I would be allowed in to Thailand when I arrive? Has anyone done it recently?
Any help advice appreciated.

I got the same warning after 2 hour interview at Chaing Mai airport I did a lot of research and decided to get and now have a Non Immigrant OA visa in Uk as suggested above for peace of mind I didn’t think it’s worth the risk but your call.Best of luck.

I hope you do not think I was accusing you of anything. The point I was trying to make is that Immigration is supposed to screen requests for visa exempt entry, and they will get notifications to scrutinise you more closely as a genuine tourist if you have many previous visa exempt entries (since around the middle of 2015). Immigration at Chiang Mai airport apparently did just that, eventually concluding that you were eligible for a visa exempt entry. If you had been given the third degree when entering with a tourist visa, that would be a bigger concern.
I didn’t at all thanks for your post.I was just updating people
cheers

I was coming back in on a Visa exempt and I do agree and understand your points.Im trying to point out but I’m only in Thailand for 3 to 4 months of the year in the English winter I using exempt and Visas issued in England as far as I was concerned I did comply with everything Thailand required and I’m a genuine tourist. I’ve gone back to England I’ve got a year multiple entry non-immigrant visa.
best of luck to everyone

On this occasion visa exempt I do understand the difference but take your point.
i was just saying in reply to original post that CM was harder for me on that occasion.I was just surprised as I have gone out my way to keep correct visits and times and it’s just for tourism's
I am taking their advice and getting visa in UK which I have before.I accept things have changed.

I was taken aside and interviewed for over 2 hours after returning on flight after 10 days in Burma to CM earlier this year.p and then let in.
I Have no overstays I’ve not done Visa runs just a genuine retired tourist.
They just simply didn’t like the amount time I have spent in Thailand and number of stamps despite it being only the English winter.
hope this example helps.

I am a regular visitor during UK winter on 30 days and UK visa no overstays , for a number of years I am a tourist no hidden story last time at CM got interviewed for 2 hours and told I must from now get visa from UK.
My point being it is just a part of it know and people need to be aware.

I did have a really issue last time I came in despite having completed everything correctly. I have never overstayed they just didn’t like how often I’ve been to Thailand with a mixture of visas before I arrived and 30 days on arrival.
They told me next time I must get the Visa in the UK.I hope it goes well for you perhaps a update would be helpful.
-
Thanks very much for that advice.I’m happy to get the tourist visa I was just concerned that I will get to many in my passport and they will refuse me which would be a real problem for me. I am a tourist I just like spending the UK winter in Thailand it just seems to be getting more difficult.

Were you trying to enter with a tourist visa, or were you asking for a visa exempt entry? If a visa exempt entry, roughly how many visa exempt entries to Thailand have you had since the middle of 2015?
I was asking for the 30 day visa exempt entry.I have 8 such entries and a tourist visa issued in the Uk.It was the number of times and the amount of time I had spent in Thailand they didn’t seem happy with. When I’m back later this year I’m flying to Australia mid stay for 5 days but now worried about when I get back to Chiang Mai.
thanks for any advice

My comment about Chiang Mai being easier than BK I just return them after a 8 day trip to Burma by plane and I have a big problem trying to persuade them it wasn’t a Visa run. I’ve never had an overstay or anything else but I visit to Thailand a lot over the years. I have always used at flights and stayed within my time limits.
You told me I need to get my Visa in England next time which is worrying as it doesn’t seem wrong to fly and return to Thailand.

A really well written article thank you.I’m in Thailand now my OA visa ran out in September when I was in UK but I returned just on my re entry permit and stamped in until the 2nd March 2021.
I have approved Thai heath Insurance until October 2021 ( 1 year )
My question can I extend my re entry permit while I’m in Thailand or will I have to return in March to Uk to sort out ?
Thanks for any advice.
