Just now, jacko45k said:
You should be able to enter Thailand on the Visa waiver program, and receive 30 days, which can be extended for a further 30 days at immigration.
You are not eligible for a Visa on arrival in Thailand.
Thank you for the quick reply,
if I understood correctly it means that I will be able to come back to Thailand for 30 days without the need for applying for a visa at the embassy right ?

Hey everyone,
Currently living in Bangkok with a non-immigrant ED Visa on a french passport, my visa is about to expire at the beginning of June.
Since I won't be able to ask for a tourist visa in thailand I was thinking of going to Singapore in order to acquire a tourist visa.
I heard that it was possible to get a visa on arrival at the airport but since my country ( France ) isn't on the list, does it mean that I would need to apply for a tourist visa at the embassy in Singapore ?
Moreover, after checking out the New overstay rules http://www.consular.go.th/main/contents/filemanager/VISA/Visa on Arrival/VOA.pdf
I noticed that French passport holders may enter the country without a visa.
Does that rule only apply to people that don't have a previous visa ? Will I be able to enter the country with a previous ED visa ?
Thanks in advance for the help guys/girls, if you need additional information let me know !
Cheers.

Hey everyone,
I'm sure this question was probably asked before but as I was unable to find any conclusive answers so I'm posting my own.
So I've been in Thailand for about a month and a half, my non-immigrant ED visa ends at the beginning of june.
Since my exchange program ends mid-june, there is no need for me to extend my ED visa ( apparently the process is tedious and I can save money so... ), but i'm planning on staying in thailand for a bit longer so I was wondering if it was possible to turn my ED visa into a tourist visa at the immigration office.
If so, would the tourist visa be valid for 30 days or 60 days ?
If not, do I have to leave the country to apply for a tourist visa ?
Thanks in advance for the reply.
