  1. I have put condos in her name before and sold them

14 years together I purchase houses we have done renovations  on 4 houses in  Australia   and  sold them for thousands more over the years she can keep the money if she wants from the condos now she has 2 condo  shops worth $80000 but I take your point and with thais it usually comes back to money when we first met there were a gang of girls for me to choose from in the farming community we all went to town in the back of a ute all the girls started looking for  something for me to buy for them bags clothes ect but this one did not want anything and she came from the poorest family not only that her toilet had no door and her father put one on for me that was the deal maker

  2. I wont be coming to Thailand much any more I have put the condos in my girlfriends name and instructed her to sell them we still have a house in the country that I built but we plan to live in Australia permanently I have submitted  her spouse visa application maybe a once a year visit 29 days return  the 60 day visa gave me an option to extend or leave early and it was good but no more  the bart is too strong  the roads are a death trap over 1000 people died on the roads in January alone  and that's not counting the ones who die later from    injuries      its too hot and life seems to revolve around food I am over Thailand now

Yes, they do.  But they want to see where else you have been and if you had immigration trouble in other countries.

They also want to see if you have been back to your own country or if you are living in Asia.  IDK why, but they often consider living in Asean as living Thailand.

I have been sent to the "Interrogation room" 2X.  And I have explicitly been told to leave Asia and go back to the USA.

I believe it is racial.  Like tellng a Mexican to go back to Mexico.  As if the rest of the world does not exist.

They think they are standing up for other Asean countries.

Or don't want their competitors to get the money they are turning away.

I had a new passport this time never had a problem with the old one showing where I had been and she did ask for the old passport I think you are right about seeing where I had been

i have left the return section empty 3 times and have got the visa  i have never been asked for a return ticket from io till now

so yes i can read but it was not a requirement to provide this information   and everyone says no return ticket required on 60 day visa

why dont we wait for the embassy in Australia  to decide  as they provided the visas circumstances alter cases

    reply from embassy

In order to avoid any problem that can occur at the immigration check-point, you may need to provide return flight tickets.

It seems you can't read very well.

Why do you need to ask any embassy about if a return ticket is required? Can't you find the Thai Embassy website in Canberra using Google, or the consulate in Sydney? This is what it says on the Royal Thai Consulate's website in Sydney regarding return tickets when applying for a SETV or METV:

"A copy of airline ticket indicating the date of arrival to and departure from Thailand."

    It's quite clear imo.

How did you get your 60 days tourist visa in Australia without a copy of a return ticket or letter of itenerary?

This is from the Thai Embassy website in Canberra:

"Copy of an airline ticket indicating the date of arrival to and departure from Thailand or letter stating the itinerary/ travel plan of the applicant."

i dont believe its mandatory to show a return ticket the old form did not ask for it from syd embassy i just never filled in the return ticket section and they kept giving me the visa having a visa gives you a flexible return date  and the option to extend 30 days at the local immigration office   the new form is 1 year old now never had a problem in 3 visa entry's

I visit Thailand about 6 months every year. What am I to you? A tourist ? Not a tourist ? I get what is called an METV. If you don’t know it’s a six month multiple entry TOURIST visa. It can easily be used to VISIT Thailand for up to nine months.  Please don’t say I am living here. Unless you want to pay my property taxes in the USA.

    correct

Who ever checked your friend in at AUS did not now the rules you need a outgoing ticket if you come in on a 30day on arrival but if you have a 60 or 90 single or double entry you do not need an outgoing ticket, remember these visas can also be extended by 30 days if needed. Where the IO was looking the amount of time he spent last year , 5 months looks to be the issue, maybe the IO was just being a A hole.

i need to know where i stand for future visits on a tourist visa if

i am required to show a return ticket so be it

if i can extend my visa an extra month or not

if i can buy a return ticket for a month after my visa expires

if i can no longer use a tourist visa

happy to do what they want not trying to change the rules

ok went to the immigration office they agreed with me said the officer was wrong coming to stay with your girlfriend is part of your holiday and walking in the sun was nice for my suntan and i liked all the different flora and fawner and cuisine and culture nightlife ect

and that i found it pleasurable to go to Thailand for my holidays

14 years i have been here never asked for a return ticket but the new visa application does provide an area to provide return flights

and i will be asking my consulate do i need to provide this information or not as i need to return home when required

if you own a condo you must report to your local immigration office within 24 hours m to f produce house book with your name inside

they   enter it into the computer give you a printout to show on your next visit stating that you did report your place of residence

if you book and  stay in a hotel you must show the booking when you apply for the visa

the hotel must report within 24 hrs that you are there on the day m  f

and you must show the immigration officer your booking document from the hotel when entering the country

basically consulate does not provide immigration with a copy of your house book or hotel booking

the new passport probably did not help thats why they asked for the old one

    Visas for Australians travelling overseas

A visa is a form of permission for a non-citizen to enter, transit or remain in a particular country.

We do not issue visas for overseas travel and cannot provide definitive information on visas. Only the countries you plan to visit can provide up-to-date information about their visa requirements. For all countries, contact the nearest embassy or consulate of the country you intend to visit well in advance of travel. Not all countries have representation in Australia.
