I think this is an AI generated article based on the question : "Chat GPT please write an article about noisy, drug taking tourists renting rooms in my expensive condo block" It is just too generic and uninteresting to have been written by a real human being.

So a Bungee company in Pattaya uses defective equipment which fails and is dangerous and the focus of the article seems to be that reporting the incident is unfair to Thai Tourism. The equipment was obviously replaced after the accident so the checks now are pointless. Why was this not reported on the day of the accident?

Many countries do not bother with outward immigration checks, leaving the onus to the airline to report the names and passport numbers of departing passengers. I am sure there are ways to therefore streamline checks for outward passengers. One suggestion is not require photo and fingerprint if the immigration officer believes all papers to be legitimate? My 2 cents worth!

Putin seems to be the real Nazi in 2022. Annexing Crimea, invading Ukraine. Very similar to Sudetenland and Czechoslovakia in 1938-1939.... Followed of course by a war with the free world.

While the intentions are good, this reminds me of the discussions a few years ago when it was decided driving with high heels should be illegal! Impossible to enforce. The blacked out windows in nearly all cars make this regulation almost totally pointless.

Seems a little bizarre for the judge to say it is not discrimination because it is good for Thailand. That in itself is discrimination.
However us farangs should not be too self righteous. The cost of a visa to get into UK for a Thai is enormous and the UK government could be assessed to have discriminated against the Thai by taking a substantial fee upfront even before arrival in our sunny uplands.

Whoever edits the titles in Thai Visa? There does not seem to be any order at all. The Government has given guidance then seems to then say up to the individual schools to decide.

Not much point in discussing further until it is established that the vaccine prevents the carrying of the virus.

Putting hotel workers above teachers.... Profit above education.... wealth before health.... mmmm I do not think the proposal is sensible or acceptable.

1.5 million tourists is about 10,000 (or 50 aircraft per day)! Given all the rules, this looks a little optimistic.

In most countries, the primary duty of a government is to protect its citizens. In Thailand the TAT is proposing to put Thailand's citizens at risk for a possible short term gain of attacting a few extra Chinese tourists. Already tourists from outside China are reconsidering visiting Thailand precisely because the government is encouraging China inbound tourists, is not informative about exactly what is going on vis a vis Covid19, and is not overtly attempting to stop the spread of Covid19. Has the government seriously thought this initiative through?

3 hours ago, DannyCarlton said:Thailand has received an extremely bad press over this in the West. Media constantly mentioning that Thailand is the highest risk country outside China. You can knock a big chunk of Western tourists off that 50% figure.
It receives the press it deserves. While, for the safety of their citizens, other neighboring countries are trying to limit the freeflow of visitors from China, Thailand continues to encourage Chinese Tourists to come. Thank goodness China is being responsible by banning outbound tour groups. The Thailand approach is totally shortsighted. They have successfully killed the goose that lays the golden eggs.

Thailand seems to have a static number of 19 Coronavirus people..... By the spread of it elsewhere, this would seem to be unrealistic. How can it be possibly true that a visitor from South Korea gets the virus but no Thai gets it? Far from restricting Chinese inbound tourism from China, Thailand has welcomed tourists from China and Coronavirus has only been partially resticted in Thailand by the actions of the Chinese government. Thailand is in danger of really killing off their tourist industry by it laissez faire attitude towards the virus. It really is time for some decisive leadership. Action and transparency can still save the day.

Surely the police should also look at the Taxi prices on the Island which rip off every foreigner who goes there and innocently uses the government authorised taxi service. On my one occasion I went there, the USD50 journey was so short, I was shocked and angry as I thought the journey would last longer than 7 minutes for the price. The authorities should be looking into taxi competition and fairer prices. Due to the ludicrous cost of airfares to the Island from Bangkok combined with the legalised theft from taxi drivers, I avoid Samui as there are far better value places to visit in Thailand.

"Thaivisa notes that if past years are anything to go by somewhere between one thousand and two thousand people are likely to lose their lives in that 21 day period.
An average of about 70 people die on the nation's roads every day not just at Songkran. "
So over the 21 days the road death rate is about average.... ???

We should also remember that he was harassing a Thai citizen. So detaining him prior to departure is appropriate.

The government will probably support the school for this type of discipline. Until the whole nation sees that education is teaching children to express their thoughts and individuality freely, the country will see further declines in the quality of education compared to other nations.

It surprises me that the BMA does not have the power to instruct that the supply of water and electricity is stopped.... better than paying THB130million then hoping to recover it.

Really odd post this one.... I think there is far more scamming by charming dark young ladies scamming naive white men out of money.... Perhaps the Tourist police should do another Ad to balance their views. :)

A 24 year old has died. That should at least get some sympathy for his family. RIP.
References to the cost of bungalows and comparisons to a farang investigation by the police demonstrate the green eyed monster in some of these posts.

Does this mean we can still use the app to call Uber onto private property?

The Tobacco Monopoly after many years of killing people should have given up its land off Rama 4 to be a park. This was really a no brainer. Instead it has been sold which has made the monopolised tobacco drug merchants even richer. So much for government responsibility and conscience

A ridiculous case.... the lawyer admitted he notarised a document not in the presence of the required party. How the case got this far speaks volumes for true justice in Thailand.
British Embassy Faces Rising Consular Case Demands in Thailand

What I would dearly like to know is that, with the increase in workload, The British Embassy has now adopted the full 5 day week rather than the 4.5 days adopted during the days of Empire.
