This is the best thread on ThaiVisa to see which of the foreigners here really don't have a pot to piss in.
It really shows the ones who can't afford to buy property here, the ones can't afford to apply for PR, the ones who have tiny pensions being hammered by the strong Baht.
Have any of you whingers ever figured out that your personal misfortunes in Thailand are not caused by the Thais or the Thai economy, but from your own inability to understand business and economics; hence your checkout-girl incomes resulting in your hard-done-by posts.

If they are one can question the original investment decision but it's not stealing from Thai tax payers.
Burma's interest rate is 3% ,
meanwhile EXIM had to refinance at 4 to 5 % .
looks like stealing to me .

Economic forecast set to be revised
Published on October 30, 2007
Thailand's economic forecast will be revised on November 23, when the recent oil price hikes as well as global economic conditions will be taken into account, a Finance Ministry official said.Ekniti Nitithanprapas, director of the Fiscal Policy Office's Macroeconomic Analysis Group, said that Thailand's gross domestic product will be slashed 0.2 percentage point for every US$1 increase in the Dubai crude oil price. Meanwhile, the $1 increase will also push up inflation by 0.3 percentage point, he said.
Still, he favours the idea of letting retail oil prices move along market mechanism, but the government may need to help relieve the burden of low-income earners and the most affected sectors.
The office's current economic growth forecast is 3.8 to 4.3 per cent.

It always irks me that the punishment for government staff who do not peform well is to transfer them 'to the South'. Presumably they are being punished for being corrupt, incompetent or whatever. Thailand can never even begin to solve the troubles in the deep south unless they start sending the brightest and the best of their officials 'to the South'. What sort of signal to the local population does this shortsighted policy convey??

Fear Of Motorbikes
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Self preservation is part of an animal's instinct that demands that the organism survives. Pain and fear are parts of this mechanism. Pain causes discomfort so that the organism is inclined to stop the pain. Fear causes the organism to seek safety and may cause a release of adrenaline which has the effect of increased strength and heightened senses such as hearing, smell, and sight.

I believe that declining birth rates are in essence a non confidence decision. People enslaved in the nightmare of industrialised urban society are concluding that it is not a way of life that should be imposed upon future denerations.

Thai court frees Israeli on death row for drug dealing

Supreme Court in Bangkok acquits Vladimir Agronik after eight years in prison, accepting that he had no connection to another Israeli on death row for same offence.
A 39-year-old Israeli who has spent eight years on death row in Thailand for selling drugs, was this weekend set free by a Thai court and is now heading back to Israel.
The Supreme Court in Thailand acquitted Vladimir Agronik, after accepting his claim that he had no connection to the drugs found in the apartment of another Israeli, Alon Yigal Mahluf. But the court rejected the appeal by Mahluf, who has also been sentenced to death.
Mahluf now has 60 days to seek clemency from the Thai king.
The two Israelis were arrested in December 2007 after 23,000 ecstasy pills found in Mahluf's home. They were both found guilty and sentenced to death. They petitioned the Supreme Court after their appeal to a district court was rejected.
