I have never had a problem re-entering Thailand, but I always do it every 90 days, except when I leave Thailand for a holiday.  Savannakhet and Saigon (HCMC) are the two options for a Non O without financials.

ok, and other embassies require 400k in your bank just to get the O-visa multi entry? if not, how much do they ask to see in your bank?

90 day or go to immigration with wife and get a 60 day extension based on visiting wife. So 5 months then border hop

Yes with all relevant paper work in order

Still have to do a 90 day report at immigration.

Yes you can get a WP on a non O based on marriage. And if you stop working your visa is secure.

do you do a 90 day report if youre border running every 5 months with the visa extension? also is it true that if youre on a muli entry O visa, and you border run alot, that you wont have any trouble getting into the country, like how sometimes people who constantly border run on tourist visa might get denied entry? is there a website you can do the 90 day reports easily? Is savankhet the only place you can get the O-visa multi entry w/o financial proof of 400k?

  3. I want to become educated on this visa as I'm interested in marrying my gf in a couple of years and want to know how the visa situation works and my friend would like to know aswell. I have read on here before and is this correct? I'm US nationality, and my friend is from Netherlands and might want to marry his thai gf in the future.

    1. If you dont have 400k in a thai bank, then you can go to the thai embassy in Savannakhet and get a O-visa multi entry and this lasts a year, and you'd have to border run every 2 months (3 if you extend it everytime at the immigration office in thailand)

    2. If you have 400k and you're on an O-visa you can just go to immigration office and extend it by a year, and never have to border run for a whole year

    3. You can teach english on an O-visa and not have to worry about visa problems if you quit the job for another job, basically the O-visa makes it so much easier than being on a business visa because you dont have a week to leave the country if you quit

  4. Yesterday I mailed my application to the DC consulate and on my tracking number it says "Delivery Attempt: Action Needed" and "Notice Left (No Secure Location Available)". I called the consulate and the girl told me I don't have to do anything. Just wondering if anyone else had this happen, and what did they do to sort everything out? Do I need to do anything on the USPS website or do I just sit back and they'll get it next week seeing as tomorrows saturday?

    No they don’t check anything.

It’s a generic form and many of the questions are irrelevant for a tourist visa application.

I'm about to go to USPS now. Could you tell me what I put for the references on the application? It wants a reference person and address in USA, and a reference person and address in thailand

Length of stay is 60 days.

Just leave blank if you don’t have home/office numbers. They wouldn’t be checked and aren’t important.

thanks and i booked a hotel for the first 2 nights, when it asks for my place to stay, I just list the name of the hotel and address of it aswell as their phone number, do they even check this stuff? Like do they call the hotel and check how long I'm booked for?

  7. I'm filling out my application now and need advice of what to put. I'm doing a 90 day trip so ill be extending my visa for 30 days. Where it says "length of stay" would I be putting 60 days, or 90 days? And where it has contact information it asks for home number, cell number, office number.. I only have a cell phone. Would I put N/A next to office and home number, or would I just leave it blank? Not sure because at the bottom it says the application needs to be fully filled out

You must have family or friends to include in the US reference.

Where are you staying in Thailand? The Thailand reference should be the same as the address you intend to stay.

I will first be staying in a hotel in thailand, so thats what I was planning on listing as the address. Do i NEED thai references?

You would attach it with a paperclip. You don't have to do that but it makes easier to keep things together.

After printing out the completed application you will need to sign it with a pen.

Thanks and when it comes to filling it out, does EVERY question need to be answered? i.e. if i dont have any references, can i leave it blank? Also, when it asks how long ill be staying, which is 90 days (my flight is aug 7 landing and departing nov 5) should I put 90 days, or 60? Because 60 days is the maximum for tourist visa but I'll be extending the visa

Print out your e ticket and attach it to your visa application form. That is all you will need.

When you say attach it do you mean staple it? Sorry for dumb question never submitted a visa application before. I'll print out my bank statement and my flight info and my visa application. Also, for the visa application, I fill out all of the questions from my PC, and sign the signature area with a pen?

  11. Booked my flight to thailand with HOP2 from skyscanner last night, got my e-ticket today. I've never gotten an e-ticket before. I'm about to apply for my tourist visa to the DC embassy. For my flight documents that they want, do I just print out the PDF e-ticket and thats all I need? Do I need to give my invoice too? Or is there anything else I need for the proof of having paid for the flight?

lol ... you're seriously overthinking this ... send it in and see what happens, or call them and ask.

ik but i dont want them to decline it and have to re-do it, i tried to call and its just all automated. you have to pay for 2 priority envelopes, the $40 money order, get all the documents etc. dont wanna do it 2x

When I’ve applied for a tourist visa at the Thai Consulate in the UK I’ve stated 60 days, but bought a return ticket that was 6 months between departure and return. After around 55 days I went to immigration and extended for 30 extra days. No issues.

I then spent a month in Vietnam and Bali before returning to Thailand on another tourist visa and then headed home. No issues.

If you’ve never been to Thailand leave blank or put N/A. I don’t understand what you mean by references?

Read the application form, #5, it asks for references in USA. So you sent them your ticket showing you're not leaving for 6 months, or you showed them a different ticket? When filling in the boxes on the application form, do you just put a "X"?

  14. I'm looking to stay in thailand for 3 months, august to november, never been before and want to do this right. So I want to apply for a single entry TV. I'm from USA and will be sending a visa application to the DC embassy. Will they accept my application if I have "90 days" under "length of stay", seeing as tourist visa is 60 days? I'm gonna be extending it 30 days. Will they accept my application seeing as my flight will be a 90 day round-trip and not 60 days or less? Also, for certain questions on the visa application, do I have to  fill them ALL? For example on http://thaiembdc.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Visa-Form.pdf #5 I don't have references, on the bottom of the page it says the application has to be filled in fully. So what would I put if I have no references? What do I put under "date of previous visits to thailand" if I've never been? Under " Permanent Resident Card (Green card) No." would I put N/A or just leave it blank?
