Do EU allow long stay foreigners without a mandatory health insurance? No. Even for a non EU visitors, need travel insurance.
So why TH should not implement? Comments in the thread are similar to suggesting that a govt should have first taken their permission.
This discussion is around a year old so there was enough time.

This is exactly what visitors have been doing by trying to take maximum advantage of the soft side of the law.
In most of the civilized countries stay of more then 90 days must be declared in advance and there are no border runs.
Must obtain a long stay visa in TH.

Next time take a flight when your land border 2 crossings complete in next year.

First of all why travel 30 days? Travel for a week is ok during the processing time of extension which is normally 30 days. So when submit extension application then should not leave until its complete still could travel for a short period because the immigration photo session csn be anytime within this 30 days processing time. You msy decide priorities.

I hear one TH women married to 10 foreign persons so now they know the scam. So keep pictures of togather with child, home outside photo with address even if she is not there. Home address should be visible while 3 of you standing besides. Your wife can show job letter or school certificate orignal to show reason of being away.
Still it would be trouble free if she is there.

Private hospitals extort by taking all the available test possible for them. Govt hospital must wait a lot even if early bird.

This law of getting a letter from Embassy when get a new passport is not new. Immigration will then transfer existing valid visa on new one. Maybe BKK div i was enforcing it compared to others

Like Thailand is utopia and anyone who lives there is benefitting from the best culture and conditions in the world! The country doesn't have half the charm or attraction that it did 20 years ago. You're right though - I suspect there are many leaving for greener pastures.
Actually 20 years before whites were more welcome but now more money and tax payers are welcome.
What your own country will prefer?

Racism. Farangs are being persecuted. It has become a Police state. Do they think I'm gonna waste my time filing a TM 30 while on a weekend break?
Why is the Thai Govt doing this? Are they afraid we might take over the country?
Maybe they might take notice if we all refused to comply? Though I can't see the Farang community having the balls to stand together.
Stay at a hotel on outside your province and you are good.
Stay at ABNB or a private property then applicable.
Its just to kill the private business

Its actually to kill Airbnb and nothing else

I don't know if the things have changed but I don't remember being asked for a no-criminal-record when applying for work permit. For permanent residence, yes, and in my country they had no idea what I was asking for initially, but I am confident it was never asked for during WP application. I have shared it (as I had it handy) during last WP application now some 3+ years ago, but was never asked for. Maybe someone else can confirm this?
Now need police crimnal record check for 1 year visa extension

No need to worry. Simply go to the police headquarter and obtain your clearence. If there is no case against you in Thailand then they will give you certificate. UK case is finished and you have served the sentense.
It might have been a problem only if there are request from UK home ministry to extradite or an Interpol warrant, which I think is not applicable in your case.
So relax as its good for cleaning up the expats who have crimnal record in Thailand.

The numbers or stats only matter to any govt if those are based on collecting revenue from expats. I mean who pay direct taxes while working for a company or do business to give jobs which intrurn gets tax revenue. In simple what benefits to TH economy other then visa(s) fees.

Yes try to superior ourselves infront of others as mentioned. I have seen a Westerner picking up trash (rum or beer bottles) on daily basis. Felt bad for him but dont know his story.

Expats are who earn more then the locals and more then what they earn back home. Orignal term was not for any other category including retiree or excile.

I'm not sure why this is an issue. I don't care how many or how few expats are in Thailand, and IMO neither does the Thai government.
Perhaps there was no "hot" topic for today ????

Expatriate is a term used to be only for professional workers settled abroad mainly as technical experts or investors. Now retirement and excile is also considered as expats due to influx of settlements abroad.
Why not we call and add Myanmar workers in Thailand and the Asian workers in the Middle East working to make tall buildings?
I peronally think they should also be treated equally by calling them expats as they also have stay permit.

Well this is your obligation to verify address and there nothing important about it to discuss much. One can see the false paperwork, overstay and crimes by all origin of foreigners so now it can be difficult to extend. Indeed its more difficult then a few years back.

Its waste of time on a PC. Better waste time at immigration to avoid any surprises.

Yes all employee must be present with signed copies of their ID cards and maybe contact number on that copy.
They will ask them which company they work and what is job description.
Denied entry, sent back to Frankfurt

Visa or Entry is a Courtesy, not a right.
So no need to brag about it. They did just fine and within their limitations.
