  1. I can also vouch for the Outback, you can check them out on the web, won't let me add a web address to this post, but just search on the Web.

Run by my old club president from Aust, knows how to run comps - if you do go for a hit with them, the only think you will need to keep in mind, is that they don't tolerate slow play, which is a good thing!

That wouldn't be Steve Man by any chance ?

If so you are right about him not likingannoyed.gif slow play for sure , very nice guy though

But easiest way if he (the OP )is a beginner is to play at the back of the field then less pressure on the T-box plus no have to worry about holding up the faster moving players

  2. Sorry to say but the driving ranges on Soi siam sountry club road and the one at fairways opposite Pattaya Klang are now closed down.

The one by Pattaya Sports club is OK if you want to do everything HIS way and not the way you know works for you i.e. I have a busted up right hand so cannot do interlocking or overlapping grip, his reply "If you can't grip the club properly you will never hit the ball well" Sorry to say there endeth the leason only booked one so mai pan lai.

Other no experience off but the Thai guy @ the range right next to the dual road next to the railway seems good never had lesson from him but just listened in while using range and at least he appears to listen

  3. First, all car mirrors are made to pop or bend if touched in Thailand (what about in other countries?cheesy.gif ).

Second, most motorcycle mirrors are mounted to the handlebars of a bike, so hitting you could cause the bars to move and cause an accident.

    Wrong on both counts,

1).ALL cars do NOT have spring loaded mirrors i.e. Many have electric self folding mirrors precisely for the reason of NOT getting damaged plus giving people more space to pass and if these are hit they even slightly often damage the gears inside(many of which are only plastic). As are the covers of the mirrors these days and a small knock from the left solid handle bar of a bike can easily damage it badly).

2).Motor cycle mirrors are mounted on a flimsy rotatable spindle (to allow for easy alignment) that gets easily misaligned by knocks but NONE I have ever seen would allow the handle bars to move by a direct strike only on the mirror

Also most mirrors are INSIDE the size of the handle bars NOT outside, so any knock on the mirrors by anything but the cars mirrors i.e. the cars body work would usually cause the bars to move as well

I have seen many times where the little sh#ts are riding up the line of traffic and deliberately clip the mirrors on quite a few and also twice seen some young falangs on motorcoss bikes do the same on soi siam country club road and soi nurn plab wahn(Soi Muslim).

as a regular mountain bike cyclist it is not the car mirrors that bother me, my bars are high enough to clear most but the rich guys/girls in the big 4X4s that are a pain both with the mirrors and the running boards that stick outside the line of the vehicle tends to <deleted> with the pedalingw00t.gif

Mirrors and checking through windows before manouvering seems to be something most car drivers don't do and looking before pulling away or going into a side road is something most motor cyclists here don't bother with.

    only my observations

  4. Hi Rsquared there are no true golf clubs as such in Thailand

there are only self organised members groups, bar organised golf and things like the PSC in Pattaya

the golf courses are just there to make money up to whoever to organise competitions and the like

many people just come here to play holiday golf not true golf in line with R&A rules and standards

  5. Hi was wondering if anyone had seen these products available in Thailand as my skin (especially on forearms)has been damaged by using sun creams loaded with parabens and similar other nasties now have to wear long sleeves in the sun all the time :-(

hope fully someone knows where to get these in Pattaya or even Bangkok

These are highly rated so would like to try

I have looked many places and cannot find anywhere

    cheers in advance

  6. IMHO There are 5 things that will always be remembered about the 2010 World Cup

A). the WORST is them <deleted> Horns all credit to the teams for playing through that bloody racket, the other 4 things are all equally bad and in no particular order

B).The pitches were crap after many slide tackles and sometimes even just a player turning quickly would leave a rucked up piece of turf like a carpet someone has slid on exposing a large sanded area,

C). The BALL:- FIFA's insistence on a new ball every <deleted> world cup. Many players complained about it and the lack of quality free kicks proved it that the ball was rubbish. Not saying we should go back to the leather one of 1966 but just that we should leave it well alone 8 panels instead of 32 and a total material and construction change plus giving the players only a month or two to get used to it.

D).The so called top teams inability to play and be managed cohesively and consistently, whilst the so called lesser teams trained, worked and played harder but most importantly played together as a team with hunger instead of the "oh Yeah!, we'll qualify easy enough so maybe we'll start playing next week when we get some real opposition!" attitude of a lot of teams ie France Portugal England etc etc.

E). The cheating injury syndrome "Oi! Ref he hit me red card him ref!" they have the technology to use and make a quick replay decision and the cheater would be sent off and banned but "Septic Twatter" (Sep Blatter) still refuses to implement it and the goal line tech . yet again another case of we the English invent/think of something (FootBall) but then meekly hand over it over to the gutless spineless Eurocrats to look after it who could not agree on sh!t.

"After Nigeria was eliminated from the world cup The Nigerian goalkeeper has personally offered to refund all the expenses of fans who travelled to South Africa.

He said he just needs their bank details and pin numbers to complete the transaction. " posted by peter991

Maybe the England team (if you can call them a "TEAM" after their pathetic attempt in RSA 2010) should take a leaf out of his book

I tried posting a page on FaceBook to this effect and had it pulled virtually straight away by the FB admin

the premiership or should it be premiersh!t players are so overpaid and over hyped that they were afraid to do anything at all in case the press jumped on them for failing, a case of they are damned if they do and they are damned if they don't and they certainly did not play and they most definitely did f##k all on the pitch

IMHO the English players should donate their next years wages to refund the loyal fans that went out to support them and that <deleted> eye tie idiot manager "Fabricato Capitulato" should give the £7M he will make no matter what happens to the same cause. But knowing Human Nature the fans will them over claim and falsify anything and everything to get as much as possible.

  7. Nice one Naboo :D

Mr Cadbury met Ms Rowntree on a Double Decker, it was just After Eight. They got off at Quality Street, in front of the Fishermans Friend pub. He asked her name, "Polo, I'm the one with the hole" she said in a quiet Wispa. "I'm Marathon, the double one with twice the nuts !" he said. Then he massaged her Creme Egg and carressed her walnut whips. They checked into a hotel, once in the room he slipped his four finger kitkat into her Snickers and felt her Milky Way. He fondled her cherry topped Flap Jacks and she rubbed his Tic Tacs and Golden Wonder Spicy Chilli.

It was a Fab moment as she let out a scream of sheer Turkish Delight! Sadly 3 days later his Sherbert Fountain started to drip. It turns out Ms Rowntree had been with Bertie Basset who had Allsorts.9 months later, Ms Rowntree gave birth to some Jelly Babies and a right dolly mixture they were too!!

see if anyone else can add to this ?

  8. Tonight England played

    C...omplete

    R...ubbish

    A...pathetic

    P...ants

    :)

My local team Aldershot could have have beaten both those teams one after the other

World Cup more like "WORLD CRAP" even the royal freebie snatcher brothers looked embarassed

England midfield of Rooney and Gerrard... make that looney and sluggard!! :D :D

and fabio capello more like Fabricato Crapijello

wonder if he gets a back hander if Italy win? and a big f###ing handshake ala S.G.Erickson when he leaves??

English Team should always have an English Manager like Sam Allardyce

  9. Why not just go to immigration and have a word with the British consul guy there ,Barry I think his name is, very helpful bloke gave me loads of advice last time there and stopped me getting scammed by one of the workers there who approached me and asked if I wanted to get a 90 day visa "NO Problem! only 50,000Thbht!"

the guy who approached me was a Thai guy in a black suit who hangs around the outside and talks to many farangs in the coffee shop and the area outside for filling out forms. so be warned speaks very good english and should be working for a double glazing/time share company

at least if you check with the consul then you will have the official line

    Chock dee

  11. Every time I have travelled to Thailand 16 times in the last 5 years

using Eva ,Etihad, Thai airways, Qatar, Lufthansa, Air China, Aeroflot (never again!)

I always ask them or the booking agent about my golf kit prior to booking and provided you email them about the fact that you are using the sports carriage allowance (10 to 20kgs extra on some airlines) and take a print out of your request and the reply from the airline offices with you

I have never had a problem even to the extent of taking some very high quality german gardening tools out to my dad!! in the golf bag wrapped in bubble wrap and taped together

I used a lightweight but very strong bag and wrap in about an inch of bubble wrap with a cut out for the handle and two straps secured on the outside to make it easy for the baggage handlers and the fact that you say to them straight away "Do want me to take them to the oversized luggage bay for you?"

as sometimes when you offer to do this especially if there are big ques and their stressed ,they don't even weigh the clubs but make sure when you lift them you make look very light

another trick is when you get the hand luggage weighed which some airlines insist on doing, make sure you wear jeans with the thigh pockets and take a jacket of the puffa type and any heavy gear put in the pockets prior to booking in then before going through security place it back in your back pack

if you take a laptop you get an extra 5 to 7.5 kgs

But the last two trips I now have two matching sets one in Thailand and one here both picked up off e-bay really cheap so no longer needed to take the clubs , but later this year will be taking some clubs for someone and most airlines I have spoken to are fine about it and I will post here what happened.

    good luck

  12. Yeah right am sure it will be PR B.S and "oh we forgot the £499 fuel surcharge and the 10 hour delay and 25 year old plane, thatll be £10 to use the toilet and £50 for a cup of water, bag allowance 2kg" "hot seats" £200 extra!! £80 "wheels down for landing" surcharge.

HaHa Air Asia is the RYAN Air of the east they charge extra for bags (PER bag!), charge for food and water

probably hidden deep in the fine print they charge you for any services used in the event of an accident

"Sorry Sir! you cannot use the Oxygen mask unless we have you credit card details first!" "Thank you Sir , that'll be £50 per gramme but there is a surcharge if you get excited and take more than one a minute and do you want to pay extra for a clean new mask that is actually connected!"

They offered £00.1p fares out but ended up costing a friend who went to germany more than the Eurostar and wasn't that much faster by the time they located his bags

  13. Just had a idea to reduce the chance of getting stung

buy some big sheets of wrapping paper, before unrolling it quickly soak each end in petrol then poar a little down the center of the tube

unroll them and stake them in the corners out away from the gazebo on the grass which you have previously watered a lot

coat them all over with a mixture of wood glue and sugar

when the wasps head down to the paperglue sugar mix wait till they have landed enmasse and are stuck in the glue

then set fire to the little bastards

have not tried this myself but should be good fun but be careful

may try it here if any more nests found
