  1. They will tell you because of ongoing construction you need to wear a helmet. After taking the guided tour I did see many Thai and tourist take them off without anyone making a fuss.
  2. Thailand needs to put a strong focus on promoting the things in Thailand that ARE family and tourist friendly. At the same time clamp down hard on any violent or criminal activities from visiting tourist or expats. Banning and jailing any offenders. Until then the global view will be that Thailand is unsafe and only a place for sex tourist. Which is a shame because beyond the "red light " areas Thailand is a beautiful place to visit with some amazing temples, beaches, and landmarks to visit.
  3. You can't make a 'garden tool' a housewife. Remember you're never 'the one' , you're just one of many. And if a woman leaves you for any reason....let her. She ain't losing sleep over you....don't bother doing it for her.
  4. I have said it once,I'll say it a million times . Until Thailand starts getting tough on the tourist that are behaving badly,it will continue. Want to come and steal or be violent - you are doing jail time or being banned permanently. Won't happen...I know. Thailand is busy protecting itself as " family friendly" destination.
  5. Coming soon - THAI OUTRAGE OVER FOREIGN ASSAULT OF THAI TAXI DRIVERS! GOVERNMENT Vows CRACKDOWN! Or something like that.....
  6. It went down 1 point. OMG !Panic time! Geez ... I hope it goes down to 37-38 to usd . I'll start buying up baht. 😆
  7. You move to Thailand , have a dispute with neighbors, get your butt whooped, get fined, almost face jail time, lose your residence. But on the bright side after going nearly broke you can take your butt back home. Alls well that ends well. 😂 Seriously... avoid confrontation with Thai people ...the chances of you coming out on top are slim ...very slim.
  8. Oh yes, the mighty "crackdown". Almost a whole day went by without seeing this catchphrase. I can sleep easier now.
  9. The real issue is the freelancers working without a work permit. But honestly I don't think anything will be done about it. The "crackdown " in Pattaya only lasted for a few days , and they returned to Beach road shortly after. If they truly cared they would police the areas every night.
  10. Betcha the overstay was the main concern.
  11. Here's a novel thought.. how about actually punishing bad behavior instead of just taking a bribe.
  12. Many of the Thai Temples I have visited have posted THE BUDDHA IS NOT FOR TATTOO OR DECORATION. To each their own I guess. But for me personally I would not get a tattoo of Buddha out of respect for the culture.
  13. At this point I have little sympathy unless your robbed at gun point. Anyone who takes just a few seconds to read about the do's and do not's of Thailand should know the basics . Don't carry large amounts, don't be flashy with jewelry, don't brag about your money, keep your money on your mind, and your mind on your money. 🤔 💰
  14. A lot to do about nothing. Like almost everything else in Thailand " Government proposes" , in the end it will have poor emplimentation & lack of effort. They literally tell you to just do border runs in this article if you're opening a bank account for stay. Was there supposed to be a "crackdown" on multiple border runs to eliminate this? 😂
  15. Not a surprise. Asia has this all over. In Japan there are many "Japanese only" restraunts. I think the root of the problem is how trouble making tourist are dealt with. Far to often it's a fine, followed with photo op of opportunity, and public apology. They really need to enforce visa bans on trouble makers. Or jail time to send a message.
