I got mine transferred a few weeks ago in Buriram, when I collect my new passport was given a letter asking immigration to transfer stamps into new passport. 

I took both passports and the letter to Buriram immigration office 10 - 15 minutes it was done Baht 500.

Go to the immigration office and get them to transfer into new passport will probably cost you Baht 500 but it saves having problems when doing a border crossing. 

I got a new UK passport a few weeks ago from the Trendy building Soi 13 Sukhumvit Bangkok and was given a letter with the new passport asking the Thai immigration to transfer stamps to my new passport which they did in Buriram cost Baht 500.

I collected my new UK passport a few weeks ago and along with my passport was given a letter asking the Thai immigration to transfer my details into my new passport Buriram Immigration only ten minutes away. 

Went immigration next day they transferred all details including last border run and date it expires, cost 500 baht but now everything's in new passport.

Take my input to the extreme. Any document that you present to an IO in Thailand can be fabricated, even those that are with a letterhead from some supposedly reputable US agency/department. Same can be said for US bank letterheads, and to repeat myself, ATM receipts.

 

P.S. I am not sure which "boat" you are in, whether single or married to a Thai, but I recommend that you deposit the required yearly amount all at once into a Thai bank, and while singing a tune, think of it as the admission fee to Disney Land. Don't ever withdraw this money; you'll need it the next year.

That's a classic will have to remember that one. ????
