Why do home owners residing in Thailand for long years should go to quarantine for 2 weeks and pay 40 000 Baht. They have been contributing the Thai economy for years. They can be transfered from the airport to their home by taxi controlled by health department  and either using the new app or digital bracelet for 14 days. Don't you think this would be fair. Many expats stuck in their home countries and can't return to their residence in Thailand. It is not about covid 19 and it is not about isolation.. it is all about $$$$. 

I honestly don't understand the logic behind having a holiday in Thailand. People work for 12 months to have 1 month holiday in  most Western countries. If you spend a lot of money on air fare , insurance for all those things demanded by Thai government processing your STV and then spend 2 weeks time and money in isolation to help to recover country in recession and possibly be ok to get out and have freedom for 2 weeks with restrictions. Is it  really worth it?

Wait until they ease restrictions and get rid off isolation but have regular check ups.  Also stop offending all those Thailand lovers. Because they will find another Thailand if they having found one already to spend their holidays. Relying on Chinese is the biggest mistake and some other  countries made that mistake are really suffering. Their countries can not survive without China. How sad for the country I have been living in for 15 years.

I am one of the many retirees stranded after leaving Thailand just before Pandemics started. It is something we expected but never this long and also never to be treated the way Government is treating us despite the fact we fully owned a condo and lived there for so many  years. I personally lived there 15 years.Once we were all welcomed and encouraged to invest on a property and retire in Thailand. Now we are unwanted. We trusted Thai Government and chose to buy our primary residence and retire there. What we heard until now is nothing positive. As far as the Visa goes it seems the Government is telling us "forget about coming back to Thailand unless you are prepared to invest more." 

It is a pity and I am sure this problem will be focused on by so many countries Government and it will be not only criticized but condemned. 

I hope there will be inhumane decisions to be made by Thai Government soon.

That is exactly right. Again build up the national budget based on farang money. What a joke

This court decision is definitely a shock to many who have been in same situation and walked away with nothing except his dirty clothes in a suitcase. But we foreigners will never learn and continue believing in love and loosing their life savings in the LAND OF SMILES.

I know what happens with that. You have to book accommodation as well as what operation to be done through an agency then fly.

There must be a good reason ???? for chats with James. Be cautious. 

How can someone go to temple and pray as a Buddhist on a regular basis then doing something unimaginable to another human being the way it has been done. Have seen similar cases in Isan provinces where a lot of love stories heard. Very cruel. Thanks to those good hearted real human beings regardless of their ethnicity and religion.
