  1. Hey!

Has anyone tried a visa run trip yesterday or Today facing this mentioned constraint ?? AFter calling some of the visa run operators, they stated they are not having problems so far...since the news are not 100% reliable.

Any advise for those having to get out of Thailand within days would be highly appreciated!

    Cheers,

I was refused the 30 days in Mae sai yesterday. My plan is to see what happens at the borders today and try again tomorrow. Still not sure if they are only following the new rule at borders where quick visa runs are common (e.g mae sai, mae sot).

my friend did a border run today, and he is on the way to Pattaya now, got 30 days stamp, no problem,

  2. So my question would be can you stamp in and out at Singkhorn, like you can at the ranong crossing? Or will you need a visa?

Singkhon is a full international border point from Wednesday. We have got that confirmed by Prachuap Khirikhan Immigration.

Singkhon only opens for the tourism, not a full international border, you can not do the visarun at the moment, I was on the phone with Singkhon immigration a few minutes ago.

  3. I was wondering how Claudio could be responsible anyway. He left Thailand September last year and never came back since then.

we went to Ban Laem border the other day, my wife saw Claudio on the Cambodian side of border, one of the immigration officer said he got banned from coming back to Thailand.

How could someone be banned from coming back to Thailand? It doesn't seem like there is an on-line computer system at this Ban Laem border.
  4. I also did a visa run with Jack Golf last month where what the company told me did NOT mesh with what the Thai border guards told me. ie: Jack Golf said a plane ticket out of Thailand within 90 days was fine (it wasn't - the border guards were insisting on 30 day plane tickets).
The big problem of this Jack Company is , they have no clue of what they are doing.
  5. Maybe someone here can help me. I gotta go renew my 30 day tourist visa and plan to go to Poi Pet, Cambodia. I got my first 30 day at this same place and plan to go again for the 2nd round.

Has anyone been to this place recently? How is it looking?

    Thanks.

Since ThaiVisaRun Company found Ban Laem border a few years ago, hardly anyone goes to Poi Pet for a visa run now.
  6. When I did my visa run last month, I asked the very same question to the guy who runs the thaivisarun company.

"It will be counted from your first entry after Oct 1, but still it is fully up to the police", he said

I tried 2 visa run Companies so far, ThaiVisaRun Company from Ekkamai and another one, called ThaiVisaService from On-Nut. Both are honest and knowledgeable.

I was wondering what business these companies would be doing next year?
  7. Had to renew my visa earlier this time, I used ThaiVisaRun company again on Sunday for a border run, no problem. Ask them about the new rules, they were all laughing and booked me a seat for my next run.

Did the border officer check your previous stamps?

No, no one did. But I had only 2 stamps anyway.

They never have had enough time to check your pass, went to Ban Laem twice with this ThaiVisaRun Company, and I saw the immigration officers twice having lunch at 2:00 PM.
  8. Anyone knows which boarder does Thai-Visa-Run uses?

I did a visa run with them once & i must say they are good.

But this time i would like to take a drive there & do a boarder run myself.

Thai-Visa-Run Company goes to Ban Laem, they all go to this place now. But if you drive your own car, I think it is better to go to Ban Pagkard, 15 miles down the south of Ban Laem.
  9. Got my visarun done yesterday, departure 09:30 from Ekkamai, and back to the same place at 17:55. The funny part of this trip, on the way back we actually passed the Jack Golf bus which left much earlier in the morning. I am not trying to say that Jack Golf’s service is bad, but it is definitely very slow.

Sometimes early birds won’t catch the worms.

  10. Jack's Golf bus broke down this week and I was on it. Sucked! Was delayed comming back into BKK. chose wisely.
Check their advertisement at Bangkok post, it says new buses. Apparently Jack Golf lied about this bit. From what I heard recently, their buses broke down a few times already, at least twice only last week. How could that happen to the new buses?
  11. Recently did the run to Cambodia with "Quick visa run". Compared to Ranong it was a breeze. Nice roomy bus, good movies, helpful staff. They even filled out most of the paperwork for me. Spent about 20 mins at the border, did some shopping for cheap cigs and booze.
This might be a silly question, where to find this service?
  12. i recently ordered some stuff from Victoria's Secret in the US, which i have done several times before with no issues. this time i got a message saying that i owe customs and duties fees in the amount of 1700b for women's clothing and my package is being held in surat thani (nowhere near me). it's just a few pairs of underwear and some yoga pants- combined total of maybe $70... how do they justify charging me more than half that amount again in customs fees? is this normal? why hasn't it happened to any of my other shipments? do i have any choice but to just pay up?
by the time you have them all back, you probably end up paying more than $100. Forget them is better choice.
