an actual sentence the judge could give you if arrested for overstay in Pattaya is 2000b or if you havent got it 10 days in thai prison before shifting to immigration prison, in Bangkok its rumored more expensive, altho the judges may make it up as they go along for all anyone can guess, however the up side is that it wipes the 20000b fine at the airport, so its not the worst deal in the world

my understanding is that you would be extremely unlucky to get arrested if you are in the process of paying the fine and leaving the country

Overstay is a criminal offence, so thake your time and think about.

Also... P1 if you are really correct on this issue, why can't you find a single person who has experienced this? From people I know here who have overstayed in the past and present they still walk to the airport 20k in hand and its fine. (I have been here for 9 years, and have known ALOT of overstayers)

How can people on this forum claim this to be such a terrible thing but claim to see it on a daily basis and do nothing about it. Please don't plead ignorant as if you don't know what to do. There are NUMEROUS things that can be done to stop this without worrying about yourself since a number of your claim such outrage but are willing to risk nothing to stop it.

Something sounds awful fishy. But if this story has truth and these posters are credible ... the reason this is happening is because of the people who pretend to be outraged but do nothing ... same folks we see posting here.

So what are the "numerous" things one can do?

The most obvious is to report to the police but the Thai cops just turn a blind eye. I can't understand why, when the International police forces all work together to stamp out child porn. Someone very big must be behind the scenes here.

Maybe the International press should be informed.

I was in Pantip once looking to buy hardware when some Thai man approached me and asked if i wanted a young girl and showed me a picture of a little girl of about 10 years. I just told him no and walked away. He followed me and grabbed my arm showing me a photo of a young boy and asked if I wanted a boy instead. I think I was more annoyed than shocked and i just shrugged it off. I didn't bother to report him or anything because i am pretty sure nothing would have happened to him.

International media is already informed.

The non imm o is only for 3 month stay from the day you enter in Thailand.

The EXTENSION is for 1 YEAR and every 3 month you must report to the immigration OR

You have a multiple non imm o visa, each stay is 3 month than you have to go outside Thailand when expire after 3 month from the date that you enter in Thailand.

NO ONE VISA, VISA, have validity for stay in THailand from the date that you enter 1 YEAR WHITOUT EXIT FROM THE COUNTRY.

We see one more farang that want give money to a thai lady, she work, she dont need your money, she independent she is... ok perfect, give to her you money, do you want an advice or do you want talk about whit us that you WANT give to her?

For us if you know her long time or not is ininfluent, many of us know our girlfriend or wife for long long time...many of us loosed money in that way.

[These people are like some monster in a horror movie. They get beaten and killed many times only to rise up again from the deep. The leaders are evil nasty people who’s only thought is how they can get more for themselves and it is sad how so many poor are brainwashed into thinking they care one bit for the plight of the poor. They have proved themselves to be extremely violent and willing to destroy anything if they can in their way. And please don’t say yellows are as bad. During yellows protests I don’t think their was one serious injury let alone deaths. No serious harm was done to property and their was no great intimidation of people. Ok the airport was shut for 2 weeks, so what airports have been shut for long periods in lots of places. I can only hope for sake of Thai people and my Thia family that this monster is finally defeated and then maybe just maybe some party who really care about poor will rise up and peacefully effect change without being in it solely for good of one person and his minions. I doubt it, so the best of bunch at moment sadly is current government and I wish them well in dealing with this menace. Thai people have lived with corruption as a system for centuries which does not make it right but if the likes of Mr T ever get their way the real danger is a repeat of what has happened in Zimbabwie, Iraq and many other places. Of course by the time it is obvious that has happened it will take decades if ever for Thai society to ever recover. I am thankful that the army can and will and has acted to prevent total dictatorship even if this is at cost of a high degree of corruption.
