For your information. Only deal with agencies that have registered Thai company. Not bulletproof but for sure a lot safer. This woman have, or had, an office in ViewTalay 5 with the responsibility to rent out up to 100 condo, mostly to farang owners. She rented out without informing the owner and kept the money so we are likely talking about MANY millions in this scam. Happy she got busted, one more down. I know this because my wife is in this business and things like this hurt all of us working honestly.

Arrival card could easily be scanned in to a data system with added passport number. That will cost them a cheap computer with some big hard drives and will never run out of space. They do not even have to do that at passport control station.

So they put in an invasive law and by that over rule many other laws. How can they PROVE that second hand smoking was the cause? They can not. How can the accused prove that it did not cause any harm. He/she can not. This is a draconian law that can put innocent people in jail or heavy fines.

I can understand the problem but as for myself I always have several windows open that creates good ventilation and thereby more or less erase the second hand smoking problem, but how can I prove that if my wife finds out that I have a mia noi? Even if I go 5 meters outside (what is this if not crazy) my house I think I still could be blamed should a thai people think I should be prosecuted, or may be my mia noi when I stop pay for her apartment. This is a badly considered law with many bad consequences. 

I do not understand the mourning about this issue. As far as I understand they ALL are here illegally or done something illegal. Has NOTHING to do with "good" farangs.

Some must leave the country, others will arrive, hopefully with their papers in order once they learn they can not cheat. 

Not so many year ago Pattaya arranged different kinds of festivals at least 1-2 times each month. Occasionally "only" a beach food vendor estrada - better than nothing.

Since then this has vanished and I think may be now 6 per year.

Today Pattaya also offer quite a lot more tourist attractions which is a positive thing.

Europeans today suffer from bad exchange rate, domestic flight travel taxation, negative media posts from journalists with an agenda and the fact many ex flight travelers suffer from climate panic depression.

Utapao air port should help in the long run if European countries start charter flights (will they), but I do not see how the EEC corridor will help attract tourists.
