If I do that, then I can't access it.

Hi, does anyone know a place around Pattaya that can reweb a 1950s couch for a reasonable price? I did some repairs on webbing a while back, but the original canvas webbing is tearing in more places and it needs to be professionally redone.

Hi everyone, we are moving to Najomtien and looking for a reasonably priced storage unit. Everything we have looked at, even in locations outside of town, is comparable to what we are paying in central Bangkok. Does anyone know of a good option? Thanks.

Anyone feeding strays has a mental disorder, put your own special food out first, fish with additives should do the trick. We had a mad cat lady at old condo, where no pets were allowed, she had about 20.
No need to hurt the poor cats just because of one inconsiderate person's behavior. Better to find a way to get her to put the food in front of her own house.

I am only sad about all the millions of strays that idiots stupidly think they are helping, when all they are doing is prolonging suffering and as such become part of the problem.
I would not trade our gentle, sweet stray cat for the world. Of course, we took her to the vet before introducing her to our other cats. She did kind of look like a rodent when we got her, but is now plush and fastidious.

Hipflat give some basic figures on many condos.
They are interesting, bearing in mind that they are crowdsourced and skewed in various ways.

I used a lawyer called Sathien (Dennis) Hemsin from BIA Law. Very reasonable. Reviewed the SPA agreement, did customary DD on title (easy as a condo) and executed the title transfer at the LD.
Really nice guy, non flashy and dull as dishwater which is exactly what i want in an accountant or lawyer.
Thanks. Do you mind if I ask if it was recent and what you paid in fees?

Thanks for your answers. This is helpful. I cannot say that I'm surprised by the lack of transparency.
A thought: are these very old buildings we are discussing, or fairly new, so that I am not comparing apples to oranges?

Does anyone know how to find out the prices condos have sold for recently in a building? Is information publicly available on recent completed transactions (not listings)? The Hipflat and Thailand Property sites' median price data is based on listings, and sometimes people list exorbitant prices.
We are seriously considering a buying an old condo in central Bangkok and are not sure what it should cost per sqm, particularly during the pandemic. Would appreciate it if anyone knows how to find out this information.

You might try one of the old custom shoemakers along Sukhumvit around the Nana area.

That is a beautiful picture and is great for you! One bat eats about 10,000 insects a night. We had some bats in the middle of Bangkok, in the trees by the pool.

Checking back in here. Taiping, thanks, ISAL is great for packages over 2 k. I think small packet still remains the cheapest option, although closing packages with string remains weird. It's just a lot cheaper than epacket for small items. Thanks all for the help and if anyone has further ideas, happy to hear them.

Thank you for the helpful replies. Lily, Epacket works is cheap, and is SLOW, although a package I sent to Europe took a few days only. I might guess they accumulate them and send them at once, but really have no idea. You just can't tape it - you have to use string, which is weird, but I've never had a problem. Never tried ISAL. I will, next time I need to take a package closed. Sorry it took me time to answer. I didn't come back here for a month because I was figured there would not nothing <snip>

I'm selling some things on Ebay and would appreciate advice from experienced people on comparative Thailand Post rates and packaging. These are low value items that do not need to be insured; I'd come out better covering the cost of the occasional lost package than paying for insurance or registered mail to track them (also, the US Postal Service doesn't resume the tracking, annoyingly).
Question 1 - Postal Rates: Looking at the Thailand Post rates for shipping small packages (link below), I see no ostensible advantage of "Epacket" over "Small Packet" for my situation. I've been shipping small packet rate for a long time with no problem, and it looks like the cheapest option. It's a fiddly system though, and I always wonder what happens to all that string once it reaches the US. With Epacket, can I use a padded envelope and tape? There's a third option: Thailand Post "Economy Air Mail" also called ISAL (International Surface Air Lift). Has anyone used it?

Question 2 - Boxes: I've been buying the Thailand Post boxes, but have accumulated a surfeit of small boxes. Has anyone tried shipping Small Packet or Epacket rate with other boxes (covering all writing, bar & QR codes, of course).
Thank you
