  1. I've been watching the events take place daily and all the changes that happen every other day is very frustrating to say the least. I've been married 4 years and living in Thailand the last 3 years. I came back to the states for christmas and spend some time with the family then all flights were cancelled and Thailands doors closed. Lucky, I can stay at my moms house while I'm in limbo however this seperation from my family in Thailand is stressful. I know I am not the only one experencing this. I think this is the real pandemic. This COVID thing ... I do not believe it will every go away, just like the common flu or cold which means the government(s) can drag this out (forever) if they choose. I am now in the process of bringing my family to the states and start over. It is obivious, Thailand does not want foreigners to spend money in Thailand. We sure do not feel welcome in this country.

My only bi-tch (being an "older expat with a Harley") is that instead of one license with different endorsements (i.e. for car, scooter and big bike), you will end up with 3 separate licenses, one for each type.
Why they can't simply use one license and then list the classes on it (like they do in Canada for example) instead of having to issue different licenses is beyond me.

And the B.S. about diseases ? W.T.Freddie ? They don't care if every Somchai on the road right now has any kind of disease, what is the B.S. about big bike riders ? Sounds like a load of kwaii khee to me.

I doubt the "test" will be any arduous affair. Ride a circuit somewhere, stop where you're supposed to. Signal when you're supposed to. Don't put your feet down to steady yourself in a certain section. Ride back to the start. Pay 200 baht testing fee and get your certificate. Then go to the DLT.

They have one license (ID) in America also with all types of vehicles we are qualified to drive except pilots license, thats separate.

And this is precisely the reason, rightly or wrongly, Thailand's borders will stay closed for some time to come.   For those of us outside the country who would like to visit, it's going to be a long wait.   For those of us whose life / house / family is in Thailand, returning from abroad is going to be a bureaucratic, expensive and painful process.

I know that feeling. I'm stuck in the US, my wife stuck in Thailand and No Flight in Sight!

They simply don't care. Even simple things like enforcing crosswalks would make a difference.

On the highways of the nation, vehicles and motorbikes weave like maniacs at speeds far above the supposed limits and zip is done about it even if the police are present. No care, no enforcement all.

Meanwhile people with a few banners yesterday are a threat to the nation.

Like the rest of the world, COVID is just a (very) small comparision to what is killing the population. Last I heard, 58 deaths in Thailand from COVID compaired to over 7,000 deaths from road accidents! Come on now, I don't see any roads shut down yet the whole country is shut down because 58 people died from COVID (??)!

And, its not just Thailand, the rest of the world is doing the same thing. I think there is some kind of plot from world leaders against mankind.

Asians in general, and Thais in particular, do not like Farang showing up how awful they treat animals and the environment in general...Thailand one of the Top 5 plastic pulluters in whole world...do they eat dogs, same as Vietnamese, Chinese and Koreans???

They do in my village even though it is illegal. I hear them talk about, never have seen it though. I'm not sure I would not know what it looked like
