Slitting his own throat? Really? I mean, it possibly could happen but it's a very rare and unusual way of killing yourself. It almost seems as if the police are just being lazy here. This is highly suspect and should be investigated thoroughly.

Even when a foreigner isn't even involved in the crime, they find a way to blame it on us. Honestly, the xenophobia and farang-bashing in this country is just ridiculous at this point.

DEPORT
As I've always said, the worst thing about Thailand is some of the foreigners.
Another unwise but totally predictable knee jerk reaction from the "if you don't like it, go home" mob. Do you people ever take a second to reflect before cheering on every dystopian idea?
Go ahead and just assume that a rule like this would only ever be applied to those that deserve it and never used as a tool of corruption and never affect innocent people.

The open xenophobia and racism is getting out of hand. What a way to welcome back the tourists! I can't stand certain aspects of Thailand.

That's very possible and a good reminder that the accuracy in these stories tend to be questionable to say the least.

This is just so typical of Thai media. They report opinions of establishment types as undeniable facts. Vaping is an alternative to smoking. If you want more young people to take up regular smoking, you should go ahead and keep the alternative (vaping) illegal.

Thank Buddha that Thailand isn't going down the European route. They're right to be 'scared' of foreigners and they should do everything they can to not become a basket case like the rest of the Western world.
If a nation doesn't give handouts to immigrants, there's zero risk of that happening. There's no need for the extreme xenophobia and irrational fear mongering in the media about foreigners.

Reminds me of that African tribe that built landing strips in the dessert with hopes of attracting big metal birds carrying food, just like they've seen the white man do.

The Thai's government greatest fear is that a foreigner would work in their country. They're so scared of it that they make up stories about it. Compare that to the immigration situation we have in Europe....

What is this!? 2021? I thought we were passed all this. Who the hell wants to get one of these shots in 2023? Why would anyone want to get one on their holiday?

I could overlook all the organised crime and drug and weapons trafficking bits but working without a work permit, hiring foreigners and providing shelter to illegal immigrants!? There's no going back from that. The death penalty is the only option here.

Thailand could do with fewer Russians, Israelis, Indians and Chinese. All other nationalities seem to be able conduct themselves somewhat (with the odd individual exception.) I didn't include English people because even though they top the list of trouble makers in bars, they also mingle well with other groups and I'd personally miss them if they weren't around.

Agreed, but it's completely understandable too. These people are in too deep at this point. They invested their health into the belief that these vaccines and dystopian measures were the way to salvation. Cognitive dissonance now prevents them from accepting the reality that they were duped. They NEED to believe that they made the right choice in letting themselves get injected. Remember, it's easier to fool people than it is to convince them that they've been fooled.

That's not what we were told from the beginning. We were told that they were 97% effective in stopping the spread. We now know that they knowingly lied so I'd be very careful about thrusting proven liars.

I've always enjoyed those precious few minutes of not being fleeced for money until entering the arrival's hall. Now, the fleecing starts as soon as you leave the aircraft and it doesn't end until you take off back home again.
Impeccable timing as usual by the way. If there was ever any doubt about what they think of us, here's another little clue. Welcome to Thailand, give us your money, now F off! With a smile and wai of course.

Maybe you don't need a covid test anymore.
Ok, you definitely don't need a covid test. But we are not sure about the insurance.
Huh? 344,090 tickets were canceled? Huh? Um, Um, OK, you don't need health insurance.
But, you should have health insurance, anyway. Has Thawida ever spent an hour in the sun? Is he actually a ghost?
This is their feeble attempt at saving face. They can't just come out and say: "Sorry, we were wrong and we take it all back". They have to go through this gradual backpedaling in an attempt to make it seem as if they've actually made a difference when in reality everything is back to what it was a week ago. The only thing this accomplished was to further cement Thailand's reputation as an unstable nation, not suitable for investment or even a holiday. Thousands of travellers canceled their holidays with thousands more deciding not to choose Thailand as their future holiday destination.

I find it interesting how people assume that health insurance providers always pay up. I can tell you through experience that they do everything in their power to get out of paying. That's especially true for the basic, cheap alternatives. No wonder so many people self-insure.

So you don't need health insurance but there will be random checks and if it turns out that you don't have one, you'll be given advice on where to buy one. Did I get that right?
When are they gonna realise that all this attempted face saving mental gymnastics only actually makes them loose even more face? The whole world is laughing at you Thailand. Again! I wonder how many Billions of Baht this little blunder ends up costing?

Congratulations Thailand! Just when you think those in charge couldn't get anymore stupid, they pull something like this.
So, let me get this straight. China ends its restrictions and opens its doors for outward travel and Thailand gets scared but they don't want to offend their big brother so instead of banning Chinese travellers from entering, they ban all unvaccinated international travellers instead. Even though the Chinese are all vaccinated and none of the vaccines do anything to stop transmission. The two shot requirement concerns outdated inoculations that didn't even work and weren't even tested for transmission reduction for the variant they were designed for which isn't even around anymore. They put a 6 month cap on the most effective protection which is natural Immunity but no cap on these ineffective and outdated shots. These new entry requirements get reported all over the world and immediately reap havoc on the recently revived tourism industry with thousands of travellers cancelling their bookings for flights and hotels. Airlines cancel planes, total chaos ensues. Those in charge realise their collosal mistake and attempt to backpedal to minimize damage. But once again, it's too late and enormous damage has already been done. If only those in charge would've stopped and reflected over the consequences for one minute before doing something insane like this.

I'm sorry, where's the peer reviewed study again? You just provided a link to the CDC website. The OP asked for peer reviewed studies, not propaganda from a discredited government agency who initially said that the vaccines were 97% effective. If anyone is sharing their ignorance, it's YOU.

The second time was after a couple of vaccines and was far less severe, just a mild flu.
That does not prove or even suggest that the vaccine helped. The fact that you had the virus would give you better protection than any vaccine ever could and really begs the question why you'd even consider getting vaccinated in the first place. Also, the virus evolved into a milder one which could also help to explain your experiences. I'm unvaccinated and for me, Covid was also just like a mild flu.

Nice, insinuating that foreigners are responsible for all crime. The xenophobia is just dripping off the text in the entire article. Nothing new here. We're looked down upon as vermin with cash by Immigration.
So what's the master plan? Get rid of the tourists that are there now and scare potential tourists into choosing another destination for their holiday? I guess there'll be no crime then...

Pattaya Tourism Sector Demands Authorities Take Action Against Fake Organ Theft News

This is NOT fake news. Organ harvesting in Thailand is absolutely real. I've seen it myself. Chinese tourists should probably stay away to be safe.
