After reading the Guardian article, the link for this shared above, then this was a street robbery with racist overtones included.

He was targeted for his headphones which were stolen from him, the cornavirus remark which he said was shouted at him aggrevated the assault. All major cities around the world are plauged with street crime, the perpetrators of these kind of crimes are not typical of society, usually of low IQ and of poor character, if you are the kind of person who will rob someone then you will probably also not worry about racially abusing someone, though no comment about his race was used is coronavirus now a form of racial abuse? His nose was broken when he pursued the robbers, they did not physically attack him because of his race. I as a white Englishman would probably get a punch in the nose if I pursued someone that robbed me. The filming is what street thugs and gang members do now sadly for bragging rights to their numbskull mates.

I do not think Thais understand how racially offensive they are to Westerners by openly referring to them as Farrang bak see dah etc.

I feel bad that this lad was attacked and robbed in my home country and hope he makes a speedy recovery and has not been made to feel all Brits are racist as that is not typical and these  scumbags are detested by the majority of society.

If the strong Baht is not putting tourists off coming then where are they going? I know I visited Pattaya/Jomtien twice this month and it was quiet even for low season standards, all other major tourist areas are reporting the same.

But they are still coming just nobody seems to know where they are, perhaps more scrutiny of the TM30 is needed!
