  1. The best baguettes and croissants are from Chouquette bakery, Si Phum Corner. French baker, who imports his ingredients from France and bakes fresh daily. They also have French cafe style food, like omelettes, galettes and croquettes Monsieur, with excellent coffee as well. They also have branches in Maya and Hang Dong areas.

So, it's a lot easier than doing it in Thailand? No maps to your house, no visits from immigration, no photos of you standing in front of or inside your house, no interviews with the neighbors? No under consideration? Good to know. I'm applying for another one next month and we are vacationing in Luang Prabang.

This is different from your normal extension, where you can then stay in Thailand for 1 year without having to leave. This One Year Multiple Entry Visa only allows you to remain in Thailand for a maximum of 90 days and then you have to leave. This is perfect for me, as I travel for business quite frequently and dont want the hassle of re-entry permits.

  3. The current procedure is the same as pre-Covid. When arriving in Bangkok, there is a transfer desk, where you show your onward boarding pass. You then move into the transfer Immigration area, where you are stamped into Thailand and then move on into the Domestic terminal, where you then head to the gate of your next flight.

Please note that previously security checks were done straight after immigration, which led to long queues, often back into the immigration room. That now has changed and the security checks are done prior to the gates, but this can also cause delays, so make sure you head to your gate with plenty of time.

  4. I personally see Dr Promphan in The Internal Medicine Dept of Bangkok Hospital in Chiang Mai. I have been seeing her every three months for the past 5 years and is probably the best Dr that I have dealt with in the past 30 years. very knowledgable and speaks perfect English. I can highly recommend her.

  5. I tend to use Dara Pharmacy on Kaeowanarat Road

They are not a chain and seem to have some of the lowest prices around.

Also you may not get the exact same medicine brands that you had before. If the Pharmacy cannot advise you of good alternatives, then I would recommend Dr Promphan at Bangkok Hospital, who will be able to assess you and recommend a regime of locally available brands.

  6. The Wall of Chiang Mai is not accepting any new Registrations. So not sure if you have registered before or not. But your best bet would be to go to one of the vaccination centers, like Central Airport, and hand them your passport. A friend of mine, who was vaccinated in another country and thus has no Wall of Chiang Mai registration, just turned up and Central Airport and was given a booster and a new 13 digit number on the spot.

  7. So, left Thailand last week and no one even hinted that they wanted an International Vaccine Passport. I think something being touted by the Ministry of Public Health, but just a way to make money.

  8. Has anyone used these vaccination passports to leave the country. Or more importantly, has anyone left the country without one. Just want to clarify if this is a legal requirement when flying out of or in to Thailand.
