    SQ is Singapore Airlines

    NH is ANA

    BR is Eva

    Seems like these acronym are made by throwing darts at the alphabet.

    I ended up pulling the trigger by booking with Air Canada that has 2 stops for $2.8k for family of 4.

    1. BKK to NRT operated by ANA

    2. NRT to Calgary operated by AirCanada

    3. Calgary to Houston operated by United

    I went with canada basically because it was the cheapest and they said that they have flexible change policy.

    When are you flying? You plan to purchase a one-way ticket, correct?

    QR is probably the best choice, one stop service through DOH to IAH. DOH-IAH is 4X weekly now.They should be the least expensive (26,405 THB all in). They have the most reliable schedule, and not that its thing now, but they do have the best re-schedule/voucher program out there. Newest aircraft as well.

    Loads are pretty light so should be room to stretch out without worrying about seat-pitch in Y.

    NH does have one-stop service through HND to IAH, not sure if that's daily service. You could go two stop with UA on the final segment. Note that I am pretty sure you cannot make an HND-NRT land connection in Japan, just in case you were looking at NH flights.

    I'm not certain BR nor SQ are flying this route, with or without partners?

    Thanks. It's hard for me to decipher the acronyms...

    QR = Qatar Airways?

    NH = ?

    UA = United Airlines?

    BR = ?

    SQ = ?

    Qatar is good. Travel through the middle east.

    I saw some flights via Qatar and Emirates and I'm just scared of middle east accidents. I'm probably brainwashed by US news but I can't help but think that Qatar and Emirates have a higher chance of accidents due to it being near hostile countries.

    Looks like the only remaining choices are Korean Air, ANA and Air Canada. Korean Air and ANA are about $4000 w 1 stop, for a family of 4, which is an extreme ripoff price for 1 way flights. Air Canada are about $2,500 but with 2 stops.

  4. I was rejected for 1 year extension -marriage at Chaeng Watthana because 40k baht for 2 months was not accepted, imm officer wanted the impossible 12 months.

    PeterDennis helped and referred me to an agent. Agent was great and now I have the extension stamp in my passport.

    This is my first extension so I don't know what other things I need to do. I heard that I need to do some 90 days report. 90 days from what date?

    Is there anything else I need to do?

    Say in January 2021, Covid clears up and there are flights, can I leave the country amd re-enter under this 1 year extension? What paperwork do I need to do for this?

    Looking forward to you pm!

    Thank you! What you do on these forums have huge impacts to my life and I'm certain many others!

    Hi Phungo,

    I really feel for you, and all those in a similar situation like yourself, on a ME Non Imm O marriage Visa with obviously already expired permission to stay and also having used up already your 60-day extension of stay.

    Since last week there has been an avalanche of similar reports from CW, CM, Phuket, Jomtien and in-country IOs that they now require 12 MONTHS of monthly income transfers when using that method to apply for the 1-year extension of stay based on your Non Imm O marriage Visa.

    See attached link to a thread dealing with that issue:

    https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1178565-phuket-immigration-need-to-show-12-months-of-transfers-from-abroad-for-non-o-married-to-thai/?do=findComment&comment=15730798

    It looks as if IO has issued an instruction to 'crack-down' on those in your situation because suddenly out of the blue and simultaneously at different IOs this change of policy/practice is popping up.

    And the timing to introduce that change in policy is quite suspicious, because with only 4 weeks left before Amnesty expiry, applicants won't be able anymore to meet the 2-month seasoning requirement when wanting to revert to the 400K funds-in-bank method.

    Re the special extension based on an Embassy letter in order to provide you time to meet the 2 month seasoning requirement for the 400K funds-in-bank method.

    It is not 100% sure that will work as such special extension is not meant to be used as a spring-board for your 1-year extension of stay.

    See attached link  >

    https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1177074-has-anyone-here-gotten-their-30-day-extension-beyond-26-sept/?do=findComment&comment=15750398

    So you are really with your back against the wall, and engaging a Fixer Agent to deal with the situation, seems to be one of the only options left.

    Thank you so much for your post! At least now I have a bit more certainty to go with an agent.

    The are wrong but it is hard to fight their incorrect interpretation of the written rules?

    I suspect you were on a multiple entry non-o visa. They seem to consider that as being an extension and think you should of already been transfering the money into the country,

    Perhaps get a 30 day special extension extension with a letter from your embassy to give you the extra time to have the money in the bank for 2 months.

    Yes I have a Non O ME.

    Since they are misinterpreting the rules. Do you think I could use an agent the exact same paperwork and it could work?

    Im from USA, and don't know how to qualify for US embassy letter for 30 more days.

    (Rant: we spent close to 1.5M baht in the past 10 months, I just used an ATM instead of Transferwise. Just because of the route of the money im mow denied from stay here. What the <deleted> point of having a human imm agent? Not counting their misinterpreting the law, what about spirit of the laws? so damn frustrating!!)

  8. Before the previous amnesty extension, there were many threads discussing if there would be an extension. The discussions seemed to have favored the extension 60 to 70 percent vs not. It turned out there was another extension. And here we are.

    This time, all seem quiet.

    I tried to get a marriage visa extension, had the income proof and all paperwork, but they said we cant do it. You have to pay 15000 baht to do it, it will be a secret they said. I said no and tried again a few days later. This time they wanted 20000 to get a visa through being a parent. I just got so angry they are trying to get money out of people in difficult times like this. I tried but now I don't know what to do.

    What city/office did this happen at?

    Do the initial search from the main page.  Then, when you see them listed, click the “map” button in the upper right hand portion of the page.  It’s pretty accurate.

    ahh thanks! i think it's because I use mobile and that option does not work. I changed it to desktop mode and that works. thanks!

  11. Bangkok Post has an article a couple of days ago that says that tourism chief is proposing to end dual pricing and to create new promotions for expats.

    (I believe I cannot link to article directly but you can google bangkok post dual pricing within the last week to find it.)

    If what Bangkok Post report is true then that means at least someone in Thai gov values us foreigners. This is great progress.

    If there is any life in places like Pattaya at the moment - it is thanks to those foreigners on amnesty who are still in Thailand. Kick this group out and destroy finally any business the Thai people in the touristic places might still have. Who is more important for Thailand? These people or some corrupted Immigration staff?

    Whoever has more power gets to say who is more important. Hopefully power does not reside in corrupted imm staff.

    Hipflat, DDProperty, Thailand-Property, FazWaz. DDProperty and FazWaz have option to enter criteria like size, number of bedrooms/bathrooms, price range, etc. and then display all that match on the map. Fazwaz is even partner of Thaivisa and you can find property tab at the top of this page which takes you to their site.

    Fazwaz has map feature! thank you!

    I think it's the current government's obsession with national security and monitoring of foreign nationals in Thailand which they imbued into the current leaders of Immigration, and also the desire to give work to the people/bureaucrats on the immigration payroll (otherwise they would be out of work). I agree they could make it much simpler, but then earnings from corruption would also be out of the picture.

    Interesting...

    I was going to ask who is it that want to kick out tourists and expats out of the country? Why? How does that benefit them?

  15. We're looking for condos to rent in Bangkok but non of the websites have a map feature where we can look on map and click on condos.

    Location location location is the motto in real estate but these stupid real estate websites dont have maps. like <deleted>.

    Does anyone know of app or website where one can search for condos via a map?

    Anybody know what the going rate for extending a Non O visa based on marriage for 12 months through an agent is these days?...I was quoted 40,000 bht+ from couple agents in Pattaya a few year ago. It might be a last resort for me as cant come up with the 400k requirement.

    I will give the 40k monthly income for 2 month a try and hope IO accepts it. If not and if the boarders don't open in the next couple months, its agent time.

    exact same boat as you.

    trying the 40k for 2 months method. if that does not work when i go apply at end of month im then screwed.

    That's unfortunate

    but the reason why this land seems to worth 4X more than the average similar land in Thailand

    is still a mystery, you should investigate in this way. Can you ask to your wife what is the distance  between the land and the nearest village\city ?

    Ive been there, it's between downtown Aranyaphrathet and the super crowded market on the Thai side of the Cambodian border and many hotels casinos on the Cambodian side. It's about 15 to 20m minutes either way.
