  1. welll no i was there for 3 months doing muay thai . and no i am not planning on blowing 1 million bht thats why i am asking what is the best way to invest 1million into a business

The best business right now is a good portfolio in the stock markets. The markets are flying right now and still trillions to go back in. You have enough to double your money in the next year. Then buy a big straw hat and Original ray bans with reflector lenses. Find an island you like string up hammock and relax. :)

I was thinking the same thing!

Stockmarket will be booming the next couple years! I’m myself a beginner (for a year or so!), but the lost couple months I’m doing all right!

So my advice: became a daytrader, but learn first at home with small investment, then you can work from Thailand by internet on the aussi stockmarket!

I will be doing the same thing!

    Good luck dude!

  2. I’m not surprised off a foreign bagger, here in France we got thousands (millions?) off them, mostly from east Europe and Africa,

The French government gives 5000 euro’s to those who wanne go back!

  3. Thanks Bacus,

    H2o, I like that bus, safe, no hassles, fixt price;

taxi’s often try to rip you off, specially when your tired, 400 / 500 bht or more, meter on / off, extra for the highway, ones he wanted to drop me of somewhere I don’t know where! I heard ones that somebody got mugged and even killed!

I like bus metro skytrain boat etc, you know what’s going on! If there is no other way, I take a taxi and pray! :D

    But thanks anyway!

    :o

  4. Hi folks,

Can somebody update me with the 100 bht bus that goes direct from the airport to Kao san road? Friday morning will be the first time I arrive on the “new” airport, have no idea if this bus still operates and where to catch it!

    So please help me out!

    Thanks!

  5. Nobody is talking about :

    Flight tickets more expensive,

    Crime is up,

Salaries and pensions in Europe ain’t following,

    Moslim problems (in the south),

And off course the baht and the visa problems!

    No wonder it’s getting slower,

  6. Hi folks,

Can somebody help me with a reasonable guesthouse in Hua Hin with a pool for around 750 baht? 2 weeks end of April! All I find on the net are expensive hotels of 2000 or more! Or am I asking too much?

Have never been in Hua Hin before!

I have an impression that the prices are going sky high, airplane ticket went up about 15 % – you get less (10 %) bath’s for your money these days, and hotels went up about 15 % in Bangkok (Rambuttri Village Inn) compared to last year!

But I need some sun and thai food! :o

    Thkx! :D

  7. Thanks for all those interesting posts, I’m similar case (but alone and 10 thousand more baht or so). I think there are many who have around a thousand euros p/m in Europe (US etc.) and thinking of moving to the Thailand for a better life style! In Europe surviving with 1 thousand is a disaster!

    So thanks again!

  8. Thai visa is the most easiest thing for smart people like me to understand.

    ................................................................................

    ...

"The ebb and flow of the Atlantic tides,

    the drift of the continents,

the very position of the sun along its ecliptic.

These are just a few of the things I control in my world"

    Is that clear !!!

    WE_ZAA

Ok, if you’re so smart, why is it that in countries like Laos, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, KL, Singapore etc, when you apply for a non o visa the one year, some times they give it-sometimes not?

  9. 1 month, 3 months, 1 year, single entrée, multi entrée, O, B, etc etc etc

2 years ago it was already difficult to understand; today it’s so un-understandable that even the embassy’s and consulates are lost! Even the immigration offices in Thailand are not responding everywhere the same!

Maybe it’s time for a reforming, one that’s simple to understand??

    What you think??

  10. Hi all,

I’m Dutch living in France, and last night there was an emission on French television about the tsunami money collected in France! Some government agency checked what happened with the money!

Let me explain: France collected 330 million euros, most within 3 weeks, today ONLY 1/3, yes 110 million, has been spended! Incredible!

I understand that it takes time to organize, but two years! Now they are saying, French Red Cross, French handicap int, and others, that they are going to spend this money in afrika!

I gave 200 euros (I’m not rich, and 200 is a lot for me!), I don’t want this money to be spend in afrika!

So: scandal! They are slow! They don’t spend it their where we gave it for!

I will never again make a donation!

  11. I have seen the film, pfffh, zero!! They should have taken me!! I drive an Italian car, I speak English, ex-army, I’m perfect for a (Hollywood) spy!

Spys don't tend to drive Fiat Pandas!

This reminds me of my "English" car, an old triumph spitfire MK begin 60’s! This car I had for a couple years in the 80’s. Nice car when it’s working, most of the time it wasn’t working: break problems, clutch problems, carb problems, elec problems.

I hope for james that his Aston works better!

Btw: Jimmy Bond sounds good no?? My name is Bond, Jimmy Bond!

    :o

  12. An illiquid market with huge bid-offer spreads. Only those desperate to buy or sell get hosed -- and a "motivated" Thai seller is as rare as a left-handed pair of scissors.

    I actually own a pair of left-handed scissors.....asking price 1.5 million and they're yours?? :o

    Bahts, Dollars or Euros?? :D
