You forgot something. Hazard=Risks x frequency. You need to travel in mini van over long distance and frequently to qualify.

This man needs to be found , arrested and charged with manslaughter .
Really? Charged with manslaughter? Often we read in news murderer found after about 10 years- perhaps the criminal couldn't afford to pay anymore so he was "found" and arrested.
If you live in Thailand long enough you will see the intricate workings of the laws, the justice system, the police work and of course the important "forensic work" which often put forward rather unusual reasons for the death of victims.
"Amazing Thailand"- as the billboard advertised tells you in 2 words what so many expats on this forum keep complaining.

But as we all know each Imm office has its own rules and what can be done in one place cannot in another .
Precisely Mr Keith101, the Imm office is a powerful entity by itself, it fears nobody neither does it answers to anyone, so Tourism ministry knows it is useless to complain.
Why are these people choosing Thailand for convention or big conference ? There are other countries much better and suitable for such purposes.
Thailand is not cheap anymore. It used to be cheap so the impression still lingers on.

The hotel bought insurance so they no worried he got away.
Though the hotel doesn't get full amount from insurance but still it covers the loss if they mark up when submitting the claim.

Normally navy don't just fire they issue warning many times and even fire flares before approaching the vessel.
The Thais will be waiting for Indian fishing vessels from now on (my guess). India made a mistake.

This man is sick. To kick a woman and then use a shovel to hit her- he had the intention to kill her. Are there also a lot of conjugal violence in USA? Or France?

Apparently,
The Ecuadorians found him to be ungrateful, obnoxious, demanding, untidy and uncooperative with their Embassy officials and a complete pain in the backside.
They were glad to see the back of him and had tried for years to get him to leave realizing they had opened a can of worms.
All that said, the Australian government are the ones who should be assisting him with his legal rights and objections to the extradition request by the US.
Australia has gone to the dogs many many years ago, they went to all the wars that had nothing to do with them. Australia is full of war heroes.

Your advice given in good faith may be true but when they are in love nothing seem impossible. When I was in love I believe I could move mountain.
So everything taken into consideration and with variables included it becomes a difficult thing to predict or come to a conclusion.
Whether you marry a Thai lady with money or no money and how your life will turn out is not something you could predict accurately.
If you do some in dept study of Abhidhamma of Buddhism you could avoid quite a number of problems in life. It is the only ethic-psychological studies that can benefit mankind. Because mankind is inherently born with faulty thinking that invariably leads to problems and sufferings.
To improve your faulty mind you use Buddha's scientific psychological engineering which could unfold the working of the mind in such a way that you would be able to see what and where your mistakes are.
Anyone without money is a liability let alone a missus - so you young people out there should remember this, it's a fact - not because Khon Kaen Jeff says so .
"Women with no money have bags full of seeds - these are seeds of problems which will eventually bloom"
"When the pupil is ready the master appears" - a Zen meditation master says.

the headline sounds very gloomy, but if what he needs is a knee replacement, there can be a bright outcome. however, he should lose a lot of weight before surgery. excess weight makes the recovery longer and more painful, and decreases the chances of success. i've had both knees done, and had pretty good results.
I had bad pains in my knee. I took some Ayurvedic (indian traditional) herbal pills just within 3 to 4 hours the pains were gone and never came back. (only took eight pills)
I had taken it for shoulder pains and it worked like miracle. (took 6 pills )
No side effects because it's all herbs. The good thing is the pain didn't come back.

Of course the police is mystified, they have always been mystified. First they are mystified then they guess what had happened, 90% of their work are guess work which they considered as good work.
Why are the police mystified ? Because their brains are calcified, they apparently consumed too much calcium in their diet. It's hard like a rock, isn't that mystifying?

I am not talking about ThaIland here. I am talking about police state- in a police state you often find the police are smartly attired- in their tight fitting uniforms, except for the shoes which unfortunately have painted on type of black polish.
They normally speak well in their mother tongue so any communication in other language would cause some problems- sometimes further complicate the problem.
In a police state- the senior guy often hint the difficulties in the case so you should make an offer. If the offer is acceptable everything is fine. You are free to go.
In a police state- you are in danger the moment you are inside the police building itself. In danger because there were many cases many young punk who insulted the police just simply passed away in the night in the lock up. Police say they are investigating the cause of death. It takes a long time and finally faded into oblivion.
In police state- they often say they are transparent and they do their job with sincerity.
You should be afraid of the police in a police state, why? Because if they decided to frame you, you may be big trouble.

You need to be careful who you are travelling with in a car. Once I was with a friend that I don't really know that well.
We were supposed to go for tea and he said he needed to delivery some documents to someone first. So we went.
Later at tea time he told me he deal with false passport, he delivered the false passport earlier. (this incidence was before the passport had the computer chip so it was easy to forge).
If the police were to catch him I would be in lot of trouble explaining why I was with him in the car at that time. I would be made to look completely stupid by the Thai police who are very good at doing this. I said this because I had some rather unpleasant experience with them in the past.

It's childish to expect justice in any police state in the world.

In my opinion a child of that age will have no knowledge whats happening they are just moving pictures, if she is actually paying any attention at all to it.
Most adults cant fathom most of it out as its pure nonsense poorly made.
Yes quite agree with you CharlieH.
Even when the child grow up she would be exposed to all these rubbish whether you like it or not.
If you have the time you could teach the child good english and explain to her the social problems in Thailand, the male ego etc., That would help a lot in her character molding. Wouldn't it?
But then she may have conflicts when she talks to her mother as a teenager because you showing her the mistakes in her Thai society. Her mummy may say to her, "don't listen to your father he is an idiot"
