    Recommended Optician Udon Thani

    Grateful to anyone in Udon Thani who has experience of reading glasses from an Optician who I understand is located in Prime Square.  I think the shop goes by the name of Optics.   I have spent thousands of THB at different TOP CHAREON shops which  has not resulted in achieving comfortable reading.

     

    Saw a YOUTUBE video from the Issan Farang yesterday where he mentions this shop but cannot now find the paricular video.

     

    Grateful for any help that can be provided.

    There must be one or two cruise liners idle so why not position them just inside UK territorial waters in the Channel and then all the 'illegals' could be taken to it and processed.   Genuine refugees could then be taken to a central holding area in UK and dispersed around the country.   This way we would ensure that Non refugees are not allowed to disappear once reaching UK soil.

     

    The remainder would be taken to an airport and put on a flight and returned to their country of origin.   

     

    No doubt the lefties will shout 'what about their human rights' but we should ignore them.

    Looking to buy a car, but which one?  Budget 800,000 cash.

    Had vios, city  almera and yaris suggested,

    Almera and yaris on paper would seem under-powered.

    Not much to choose between vios or city except many service points for vios.

     

    I know zilch about cars so any recommendation within my budget would be appreciated

    Lord Baden-Powell

    I was deeply concerned when I read that BLM stated that Lord Baden Powell was a Nazi.. so I had a quick nosey around & found this.. a few facts that BLM seem to like to ignore...
     
    BLM claim that Robert Baden-Powell, war hero and founder of the Scouts, was a Nazi-sympathiser - his statue MUST come down! Right?
    Well, no actually, such a statement is wrong. He wasn't a Nazi-sympathiser, he was actually considered an enemy of the Nazis, and by the Nazis themselves! Let's explore why there's this misconception about him...
     
    The two specific allegations I've seen levelled at Baden-Powell are:
     
    1. He supported Hitler 
     
    2. He used Swastikas on Scout badges
     
    Let's deal with these individually.
     
    Lord Baden-Powell read Mein Kampf, a popular book by a world leader, and he commented that he thought Hitler made good points about things like education, health, organisation etc - all things that actually relate to the Scout movement. 
    I understand he later 'revised his opinion' before his death in 1941.
     
    2. The Scouts first used the Swastika in 1908. The Nazis first used the Swastika over a decade later in 1920. After Hitler seized power the Scouts dropped the symbol.
    Remember: the Swastika was a popular symbol in Britain decades before the Nazis existed. The Swastika was originally (and is still) an Indian symbol of peace, important in religions like Hinduism and Buddhism, dating back over 10,000 years. Because Britain's Empire included India, the Swastika became an iconic symbol and was used in architecture, on wedding dresses and famously on the spines and covers of Rudyard Kipling's books.
     
    PLUS - on top of all of this - it's really important to note that Baden-Powell was actually blacklisted by the Nazis - he was considered an enemy of the Nazis, by the Nazis themselves!
    The Scouts were banned in Germany and in 1940 he was listed in the 'Black Book', which listed the names of all the men and women to be immediately arrested upon a Nazi invasion of Britain. Baden-Powell was an influential figure - if he really was a Nazi sympathiser why would the Nazis have wanted him put away? 
     
    So there you have it. This push to remove Baden-Powell's statue demonstrates perfectly why iconoclasm is so dangerous:  destructive groups rashly demand the removal of art and weak authorities authorise it - both groups have lost sight of the truth. It takes years to create, but only seconds to destroy.
     
    I was pleased that the inhabitants of Poole had more concern for this particular statue than the weak and gutless UK Government  -I say this albeit I am a Conservative supporter - and prevented the removal of this particular part of England's heritage.

    If the plane had been trailing 'Black Lives Matter' there would have been no comment!    However it's gone beyond the concerns of the Black community and tree huggers and a small cabal of marxists have hijacked the cause for their own political ends.

    FA (UK) Appears to have broken it's own rules!!!

    The FA rule on slogans etc reads:   'Slogans, Statements, Images and Advertising

    Equipment must not have any political, religious or personal slogans, statements or images.    Players must not reveal undergarments that show political, religious personal slogans, statements or images, or advertising other than manufacturers logo.'   For any offence the player and/or the team will be sanctioned by the competition organiser, national football association or to be justified by FIFA.

     

    So when can we expect the sanction applied to all the soccer teams in the UK who have removed the players name from the back on the shirt and displayed 'Black Lives Matter'.      I won't be holding my breath!

    Glucosamine without shellfish

    Appreciate info on possibility of finding Glucosamine in Thailand.   It has to be without shellfish.  Checked various sites on web but none indicate product is without shellfish.  If anyone has a similar requirement and they purchased it in Thailand, I would be grateful for info of name of company.   I have asked in 5 different pharmacies but the the pharmacist are unaware that the product contains shellfish.

    I went to Big C in Khon Kaen yesterday and was unable to locate this beef.  Is it on display under the name of Bangkok Bob or do I have to ask for said beef?
