I agree with you all. Yes. I decided to teach and read for him in my spare time. I will let my son be 5 years old and have his school deal with his issue without paying extra. They should be capable if they are one the top schools in Bangkok...

If he's from a top 5 school, qualified for young learners, has Ed degree from home country. Teaching two 40 minute blocks in your home, total 100 minutes. I'd say that's fair price. Assuming it's about an hour transit for him door to door. Go with it two months and evaluate. Have him tell you what will be taught and learned, acquired in that two months by your son.

 

BTW it's not easy to find such people. They're not going to drop their plans for an hour of work for a few hundred baht.

I still think 1500 is too high for 5 years old.. He just needs help on understanding easy sentences, phonics and readings. It is not like writing essays to go to college... I think it should be somewhere between 800-1000 THB / hour....I wish you are my son's tutor.. Please let me know if you are interested.
