If he's from a top 5 school, qualified for young learners, has Ed degree from home country. Teaching two 40 minute blocks in your home, total 100 minutes. I'd say that's fair price. Assuming it's about an hour transit for him door to door. Go with it two months and evaluate. Have him tell you what will be taught and learned, acquired in that two months by your son.
BTW it's not easy to find such people. They're not going to drop their plans for an hour of work for a few hundred baht.
Many thanks for your prompt reply. He is qualified and has ED degree from home country. However,
I still think 1500 is too high for 5 years old.. He just needs help on understanding easy sentences, phonics and readings. It is not like writing essays to go to college... I think it should be somewhere between 800-1000 THB / hour....I wish you are my son's tutor.. Please let me know if you are interested.

I am an international school teacher and 1500 / hour is high, especially for a child that is five years old.
Many thanks for your response. I agree with you.. I thought 1500 / hour is too high for 5 years old.

I wish you could be my son's tutor. Can you teach him? ????

Any school worth their salt would have programs in place to help new/slow learners or those with learning disabilities. Defninitely the OP should approach the school frst and ask about this, before shelling out 1500 an hour for extra classes.
1500 THB is the rate for 1 hour. The teacher is teaching at an international school and he is a qualified teacher for young learners. I am not sure how good he is but do you think it is worth 1500THB?
My son's international school has an Additional English Support class which was recommended to My son at first but it is way too expensive.....

Thank you both. My son needs to take the lessons as soon as possible.
Is 1500 THB too expensive?
Please advice me.

My 5-year-old son who goes to one of the international schools in Bangkok needs a native English tutor for his writing.
What should be the going rate if asked to have the 1 on 1 lesson in our apartment?
What should be the minimum and the maximum rate for this case?
Thank you very much.

I agree with you all. Yes. I decided to teach and read for him in my spare time. I will let my son be 5 years old and have his school deal with his issue without paying extra. They should be capable if they are one the top schools in Bangkok...
Thank you so much. It would be great if you could leave your messages as they are now.
