Sad...feel a bit sorry for those who lost out to the scammers. But, yet again, some people are just too eager to try a make a quick profit...without really asking themselves if it is too good to be true.

Oh dear I feel sorry for the Japanese victims to this scam, clearly you’re far better off and safer in  a civilised well functioning country as Japan, I don’t get it,  why wasting your time and money in Thailand’s land of scams and corruption ????????‍♂️

First off, you have such distaste for thailand, why are you on here? Just too troll?

Secondly, this was their fault and responsibility. There's a sucker born everyday. They broke all the rules of investing, the biggest one being investing money they didn't have to lose or invest.

    Hopefully, lesson learned.

A distressing situation for me. I have an extension based on retirement. Married to a Thai here. As soon as travel is doable between here and the U.S., I must return to deal with some family stuff. At that point, looks like I will be stuck there. Getting wife there looks like a <deleted> show with the current crisis and U.S. administration.

You can fly to the US now and always have been able too. Not sure what's keeping you back . I just got here a couple weeks ago. My problem like yours is going to be getting back to my condo.

People who arrived on a tourist visa after 1st March can just apply for the regular 30 day tourist extension, these are not the people who currently have problems staying legal.

Thanks for the "help" Thai government.

You need to read what he said. They are trying to curb group gatherings by making it automatic without the need to go to the office. Really need to stop assuming everything is bad

What? Is there something seriously wrong with you? What does it matter if they are drunk or not? Do you believe that people get immune against the virus if they are not drunk? Seriously! What a stupid comment.

When I see fellow foreigners behaving this way, I feel the shame they put over all of us. That places would try to keep open anyway was expected, but that fellow foreigners can´t get of grip of the severity is totally unfathomable. Shame on all of you that are doing this, showing disregard and disrespect to your fellow human beings.

    EXACTLY! thank you

People need to eat and having an alcoholic beverage whilst doing so is perfectly legal and doing this is not going to automatically mean that the spread of Covid-19 will expand because of it, the article seems to be aimed at getting clicks rather than real reporting.

There does seem to be a strange moral code amongst some people, how about the social distancing being practised on coaches, baht buses, taxis, trains, BTS, personal cars, motorbikes etc.?

There are businesses who are forcing their staff to work in the office, whilst still sat 3 to a small desk and so on, all are far more risky than going out for some food and having a drink.

Most responsible restaurants have redesigned their seating so that there is at least 1m between the tables, some have given up alcohol sales as the BIB here are interpreting that the sale of alcohol is banned, one place got closed for selling it and has been allowed to reopen only one the premise that no alcohol is served, which doesn't do anything.

The rule should be, if you are there drinking, then you must eat.

You're so out of touch with what's happy around the world. "Shelter in place" is saving lives what don't you get?
