i don't see any ''loophole'' to exploit, phuket immigration or not
for the ones stranded here and unable to extend their stay on a O visa
The new ''special tourist visa'' can be obtained only from outside of Thailand
and the precise requirments for the obtention haven't been precised yet.
The obtention of a letter by the embassy isn't a loophole, it's just an option
given to the ones really unable to travel back to their country of origin, and
it's only for 30 days. It's well know now and has not been discovered yesterday
by Phuket immigration.
Plus AFAIK the embassy letter option is available everywhere in Thailand, not only in Phuket.
At the moment nothing has been put in place for the ones unable to extend their
O visa because of the border closure nor for the ones not allowed to enter in Thailand
even if they have already a visa, for example the retirees single or not married oficialy
with a Thai.
It's a shame the priority is given by Thailand at the few ''Tourists'' under the STV
and all the usual long stayers are totally forgotten.
Thank you, I learned a new word today - "Obtention" :)

What the <deleted> are you prattling on about fella? If you're gonna quote me get your facts right. Fool.
The "fact" is that you said "Yes, lets put millions out of work, kids losing education, ruin peoples life's just to save 1 live" on a thread which posed the question " Why is 7 Eleven requiring customers to register before entry"? and in answer to the specific note that if it saves one life it will be worth it. If you can explain how that is a logical answer to the original question or to the assertion that it might save a life, I'm happy to listen. I don't actually believe that it will work, as so many people are just ignoring it, but the results you are suggesting are a huge and ridiculous exaggeration.

I'm not sure that signing your name on a piece of paper outside a 7-Eleven is likely to put too many millions out of work or cause kids to lose education, but if it ruins your life, let's face it, you must have a pretty sad life to start with.

My local Family Mart started doing this last weekend too, although it is just on a small table in front of the store and doesn't seem to be monitored in any way - most customers just seem to ignore it.

When this become common knowledge, many will hesitate to visit any mall. At the entrance is expected, but also at all shops? Too much.
Requested to answer feedback when leave each store, and be nagged to give a good feedback. Way over the top.
No phone, requires passport to enter malls.
No phone, no passport, denied entry.
Will be interesting to see how (many) few visitors the malls will get.
This is certainly not true at all malls - I visited Central mall in Chon Buri this afternoon - no smart phone, no passport, no problem. I just signed in on the supplied sheet with my name and phone number, as did many others. No request for any feedback.

At least some provinces are selling alcohol from today. I was in my local Tops Supermarket in Chon Buri this morning and cartons of beer were heading through the checkouts at a record rate.

You never do 90 day reports from the date of a visa extension but from the date written on the last 90 day report as to when the next is due, i.e. 12-May.
However you now have the option to wait for the amnesty of 31-Jul to see what happens then. Personally I have done mine last week as I want to stay on my own schedule that I am familiar with and don't want to wait for some unknown date or end up in a mad rush with everyone else come end of amnesty. So up to you 12-May or wait and risk unknowns and queues end of Jul.
"You never do 90 day reports from the date of a visa extension but from the date written on the last 90 day report as to when the next is due, i.e. 12-May." Thanks, that really answers my main query. The other question of the amnesty is obviously confusing everybody.

I am on a Non-O Retirement visa. I last did my 90 day reporting on 13 Feb, so the next would be due on 12 May, However I renewed my visa on 2 April. Do I still need to do a 90 day on 12 May, or 90 days after 2 April, or am I currently exempt? It doesn't seem clear at all whether or not a Non-O Retirement visa is exempt from 90 day reporting.

"Thailand on Monday reported 27 new coronavirus cases, bringing the nation's total to 2,792 cases, a senior health official said.
Thailand has had a total of 47 fatalities, and 1,999 patients have recovered."
So is that 1,999 of the 2,792 that have recovered, or are 2,792 still "active"?
Just curious, this isn't very clear.

I got my my first retirement visa extension in Khon Kaen yesterday. 26/03/2020
That's encouraging news. Mine expires on 28 May, I might just get it renewed early just in case things change yet again.

I don't understand this post.
When you fill in the TM-6 departure/arrival card you are supposed to fill in both parts (each containing your name).
Did you only fill in the arrival part for yourself and your husband?
Anyway, it's not a big deal, and even if you did it wrong, on departure they will notice this and change the forms now stapled in your and your husbands passports.
I'm surprised the IO didn't insist you fill out the Departure side of the card when you arrived, but nevertheless, as has already been stated, people do sometimes lose their cards while in country and it's no problem at the airport to fill out a new one on departure.

Unfortunately the application form covers all types of non-o visas and not all sections are applicable in some cases. Your Thai language documents are fine for a marriage based visa. Some Embassies also like you to have a letter from your wife (written in Thai) addressed to the Embassy and requesting that the visa is granted (to indicate that you are still together)

The guarantor fields do not require filling in for a Non O based on marriage. The form covers all categories of visas, and provides space for information that does not apply for most applications.
Correct. The other thing worth keeping in mind when applying in Penang is that they now only accept a certain number of applications per day (from memory, I think it's 100, but don't quote me on that), so it's worthwhile getting there early and getting to the front of the line before they open at 08:30. I have seen people turned away for this reason.

ehs818 are you serious? do you think americans, canadians and australians speak good english? i seriously doubt so.
Are you suggesting that only English people can speak good English? Are you referring to those from Yorkshire? London? Somerset? Three dialects as diverse as those from Australia, the US or Canada.

As well as my marriage certificate, a signed copy of my wife's ID card etc, I was advised a few years ago to have my wife sign a letter addressed to the Consulate basically stating that we are still married, living together etc. and that she requests the visa be approved (stating my name & passport number). I have since always presented such a letter at Penang when applying for an annual multi-entry visa and never had a problem. Just a little extra insurance.
Visa extension exceeding passport expiry date
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

Keeping it simple, your visa will expire when your passport expires. If you renew your passport before its expiry date, you can transfer the remainder of your visa to your new passport, but that will not change the expiry date of your visa.
